Weekend Review: Champions in Prague, TalonChick...everywhere!
This weekend, PokerStars looked a little bit like a reboot of Being John Malkovitch with Adrienne "TalonChick" Rowsome in the titular role. If you were looking at a final table, there was a good chance you saw her face.
We'll get to that craziness in a moment, but before we do, we'll just make sure you didn't miss the biggest news to come in the last 72 hours.
POKERSTARS IS DOING WHAT???
If you didn't happen to be online watching the big event in Prague...or if you didn't happen to be looking at any poker media at all for the past three days, you might have missed probably the biggest news we've reported in years.
Over the course of the next year, PokerStars is going to give away more than 300 free seats to a $25,000 open event, a celebration of players called the PokerStars Players No-Limit Hold'em Championship. Want to know more? These links explain it all.
DID YOU SAY PRAGUE?
As I type, the PokerStars Championship events in Prague are coming to a close. It will be the last tournament before the EPT comes back to Europe. You can follow all the live coverage here:
WHY SETTLE FOR TWO CARDS?
Team Online's O8 specialists tore it up, and she did it while streaming for-freaking-ever.
12 hours 4 minutes on stream. 6 Final Tables. 5th. 4th. 2nd. 2nd. 2nd. And a Trophy! What a day. Thanks to everyone who tuned in! #teamtalon #whysettlefortwocards #donotgiveup pic.twitter.com/doFaCOw94i— Adrienne Rowsome (@talonchick) December 17, 2017
Before the weekend was over, Rowsome had racked up nine final tables, two of which ended up as wins. Not a bad day for the Four-Card Queen.
WHO ELSE WON?
While Rowsome had herself a great weekend, she was not the only one crushing. You can see all the big weekend results right here.
Good luck in the coming week, and stay tuned for more news about how you can win your $25,000 seat to the PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Players Championship!
