PokerStars Festival Hamburg

Hamburg can have a profound effect on people. Paul McCartney once said it wrecked him, and the rest of the Beatles, having done their musical apprenticeship in the clubs of West Germany.

"I remember getting home to England and my dad thought I was half-dead," said Paul McCartney. "I looked like a skeleton, I hadn't noticed the change, I'd been having such a ball!"

The PokerStars Festival began in Hamburg this week, and while we'd rather not wreck anyone, we're quite happy for them to have a ball.

Our reporters are bringing regular updates from that ball, playing out in Casino Schenefeld. You can read those updates here, with the main event concluding this Sunday. You can get more details on the PokerStars Festival Hamburg homepage.

High Roller Series

There's a new tournament promotion coming up on PokerStars. Who is it aimed at? Well the name might be a bit of a giveaway there.

"High Rollers", runs from this Sunday November 26 to December 4, with buy-ins ranging from $1,050 to $10,300 and more than $10 million guaranteed. A mixture of hold'em and Omaha events are planned, although the lab guys in the basement somewhere around here might yet add others, so stay tuned.

It culminates on December 3 with a $2,100 Main Event, with $2 million guaranteed. You can find this event in the PokerStars Tournament lobby.
