World Series of Poker coverage continues
We're nearly a week into the WSOP Main Event, and our coverage from it. A few hours ago play ended for the night with the money bubble bursting after what must have felt like an age to the players.
Coming out of that contest has been what we think some ace reporting from the side lines for the PokerStars Blog, courtesy of Howard Swains and Martin Harris. From yesterday alone two highlights include the piece about "Team Mercier" at this year's World Series, as well as an honest take by Felipe Ramos on what it takes to be a successful poker player.
That's not all. You can find the entire archive of WSOP reports by clicking here, while coverage from Day 4 continues later today.
Micro Millions is back
Poker isn't just about big money of the World Series; it's just as relevant when the stakes are much lower - Micro even.
The return of MicroMillions is good news to players on a more modest bankroll, and to fans of competitive poker in all its shapes and forms, and we're pleased to announce it all kicks off again this weekend.
That would be Sunday to be specific, and while you can find all the details of the latest series on the MicroMillions homepage, here are a few highlights to look forward to.
- More than 100 events
- A MicroMillions Invitational
- Buy-ins from as little as 0.11c
- Spin & Go qualifiers
- Half price Sunday Storm event
It all starts this Sunday 16 July with MicroMillions-01, a half price Sunday Storm with a buy in of $5.50 and a guaranteed prize pool of $300,000. You can win your way into that event via satellites currently running, and found in the PokerStars Lobby.
Super Tuesday winner
Amid the news from Las Vegas the Super Tuesday played on in the usual way, this week won by SlemPastor.
Jason Kirk had the full story, which was a traditional come from behind victory worth $52,457. You can read the full story here.
MEGASTACKS heading to New Jersey
Great news for players in New Jersey with the announcement that the highly popular MEGASTACK series is heading stateside.
As we reported, having debuted in Europe, it's one of those tournament series that's hard not to like. It launched in the UK back in April and attracted more than 520 entries right away. What's the appeal? Well MEGASTACK is perfect for any player looking to play deep stacked poker, with a great structure and prize pool, without having to pay a buy-in way beyond their bank roll.
It all takes place between October 6-8. Did we also mention there was a guarantee of more than $100,000?
