How a new event sponsorship with Casino Barcelona will bring new benefits for players

Last month PokerStars became the first poker operator to offer shared online player pools. Spanish and French poker players have already noticed the benefits. The PokerStars FRESH series, for example, made the point well when it smashed its €5 million guarantee. The games are getting bigger, and better.

Now there are even more opportunities for players.

PokerStars is today announcing its sponsorship Casino Barcelona's Campeonato España de Poker (CEP). The CEP is an annual live poker tour starting this week in February 28 in Barcelona, concluding this November in Perlada.

Players across Spain will get to enjoy the PokerStars tournament experience, with the chance to win significant prizes.

In addition to what will be sizeable prize pools, PokerStars will be awarding a Platinum Pass to the overall winner. That means success in Spain will lead to a shot at glory at the PokerStars Players no-limit Hold'em Championship in the Bahamas next January.

"Casino Barcelona is one of Europe's major poker venues and we are proud to partner with such a well-established and well-loved casino," said Guy Templer, Chief Operating Officer of Stars Interactive Group, the gaming division of The Stars Group.

Campeonato de España de Poker Manager Jorge Alonso said: "I am confident that with this agreement CEP will see higher levels of participation and help PokerStars further strengthen its position as leader in the Spanish market. After a record year, we are excited to announce this agreement and we expect that players will also welcome this collaboration."

As you'd expect you can win your seat to CEP events, as well as to Casino Barcelona events, in online satellites at PokerStars.es.

That includes the European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona, hosted by Casino Barcelona, from August 21 to September 2, 2018. The festival will feature multiple tournaments, cash games, and more opportunities to win a Platinum Pass. Details can be found on the EPT Homepage.
