Split Hold'em: I don't know what I'm doing and I love it!

"I have no idea how to play, but I have top pair on the first board."

That, ladies and gentleman, is Spraggy with with some straight-up honesty as he looks at PokerStars' newest offering, Split Hold'em. If I were writing the marketing copy, it would have an announcer's voice saying something like...

Split Hold'em! The game so nice, you run EVERYTHING twice!

But, yeah...Spraggy is the honest kid: "I have no idea how to play."

Me either, kid, but that's not going to stop us from loving on this game a little bit.

PokerStars School is a good place to start with all of this. When PokerStars launched the game a while back, Ross Jarvis--our resident guinea pig--dove in and did his best to master the game before anybody else. You can decide whether he's full of it or knows what he's talking about. Regardless, if you wanna learn the game, check out his article on the strategy of Split Hold'em.

And when you're ready to give it some more study, maybe go to something like this where Spraggy shows us how it's er...impossible...to lose a flip twice. The music in the background couldn't be more apropos.

Don't stop believing, kid. You're gonna get this.

See, here's the thing. There is going to be a learning curve on this. Spraggy clearly knows how to play poker. Just watch this one in which he live-punctuates his own sentences!

"This seems good," Spraggy will eventually declare, while simultaneously calling himself a layman and a fool. You can judge for yourself.

There is some more analysis that goes with that one, but you'll have to go over to Spraggy's channel to watch it.

So, have you had fun having no idea what you're doing yet? Get to it, because you never know how long it will be before someone actually learns how to play this game.
