Rafa gets first Cincinnati win

Today, there is a new Cincinnati Kid in town, and his name is Rafa Nadal.

Rafa showed up to the Cincinnati Open fresh off his Rogers Cup win in Montreal. He faced Roger Federer in an epic quarter-finals battle, then dispatched Tomas Berdyc in straight sets in the semi-finals. That left only John Isner between Rafa and his first Cincinnati win.

This was a day of firsts for PokerStars ambassador to the tennis world. Rafa had never won the Cincinnati Open. He also had not won two hard court tournaments back to back. Today, he managed both achievements at the same time

Rafa played two tough tie-break sets to win (7-6, 7-6) and pick up yet another championship.

"This one is the first (Cincinnati Open) where I felt like I was playing really well," he said.

Now with his ninth win of the season behind him, Rafa prepares himself for the U.S. Open later this month.

Congrats, Rafa, on yet another title.
