More tournaments and more cash for 2012 Women's League

PS Women logo.jpgIf you've played in the Women's Poker League or read the PokerStars Women blog, you're probably aware that PokerStars is the leader in offering online tournaments for women. But being the biggest and the best is never enough for PokerStars. Continued innovation and responding to suggestions from players is at the heart of what we do. For some, getting those responses can be a bit of a challenge, but one of the best things about being involved with a site for women is that we get lots of feedback from players about what they like and don't like. We love hearing from players and incorporating their suggestions to make the games and the prizes the best they can be and the most rewarding for the players.

So with that in mind, there are a few changes in the Women's Poker League for 2012 that reflect responses to requests from players that should make the league more accessible and more fun for everyone. We've incorporated a couple of new items that will add excitement on a monthly basis and a blow-your-socks-off final that will keep the excitement going all year. We've also tweaked and rearranged a few things that will make 2012 the best year ever for Women's Poker League players.

We know from player comments that women want options when it comes to managing their money. Some players are just starting out and want a lower buy-in so they can build a bankroll, while some players are more advanced and want the challenge of a higher buy-in and higher payouts. So in 2012 the PokerStars Women's Poker League will offer tournaments at three levels. For those players who have asked for a higher buy-in, we have added a $5.50 level. These tournaments should have plenty of action and competition for players who are ready to test their skills at a higher level. And for the players who want to compete at a lower buy-in, we will still offer the $0.10 and the $1.10 level. In addition, we know that players want more tournaments at different times so they can play every day and still fit it in with their busy schedules. In answer to that, the new tournament schedule offers three tournaments per day at each level. (Play is restricted to one tournament daily at each level.)

And all of the changes above factor into one of the most exciting changes for the coming year--the addition of the $10K final (to be played in January), which replaces the yearly leaderboard. Monthly qualifiers earn a seat in the final by placing at the top of their league at the end of each month. And to make it even more exciting, the top 100 players in each league also win cash prizes. Points are awarded for participating, so the more you play, the more you earn. Points will be tracked on the Monthly Rankings Page. The top player in the $0.10 league each month will qualify for the final; the top five players in the $1.10 league will also qualify, and the top ten players in the $5.50 tournaments.

And finally, there are even daily freerolls available that award over 400 $0.10 league tickets every week. It's your chance to play with your friends in a stress-free women only tournament poker environment.

So to sum it up, you wanted options and we gave you options. You wanted more and we gave you more!
