Play the PCA in the Bahamas for free
How much does a trip to the Bahamas run these days? Most people will drop a few thousand dollars to pay for airfare, a good hotel, and food for a week. But here's a subversive idea. What if you could go for free?
Free as in no cost for airfare, no hotel bill, and even food and drink . . . all free. Free to enjoy those gorgeous white sand beaches with the sun on your back and the water lapping your toes. Free to sample dozens of restaurants and bars in one of the world's best resorts. Oh, and one last thing . . . almost forgot to mention this . . . free to play in a $10,000 buy-in poker tournament with some of the world's greatest players and your chance to win millions of dollars. Just imagine it. You're at the final table with cameras flashing, tan from a week in the sun, and a pile of money in front of you. And then . . . "Well, that's a nice daydream," you say, "but I've got to get back to work."
Okay, if you insist. Now the image is starting to fade a bit. You're back in your cubicle at work. Your boss is walking toward your desk with a stack of papers that resembles the transcripts of all the congressional hearings of the last five years. And as much as I hate to do this, (sound of fingers snapping) it's time to get back to the real world and figure out how this works. I know it's hard, but necessary.
Okay, so you're saying to yourself, "What's the catch? Why did you tempt me with all that?"
It was tempting wasn't it--but totally attainable. In fact, you can ask Darren Keyes, who qualified for the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure using his Frequent Player Points or FPPs,* all about it. He qualified for the PCA back in 2010 using the PCA Mega Path and walked away in tenth place and a cash of $150,000. And last year, another player, Sami Aro cashed for $23,500 using only 100 FPPs. (And of course, the cash is in addition to free airfare, hotel accommodations at the world famous Atlantis Hotel for a week, expense money for food and drink, and the $10,000 buy-in to play in the PCA Main Event).
Come on ladies--isn't it time to do something with those FPPs that have just been sitting there in your account getting lonely and wishing they could go somewhere? Isn't it time to see a woman at the PCA final table? Isn't it time for it to be you?
Play the Mega Path satellites (they run several times a day) and meet me in the Bahamas in January for one of the biggest and best poker tournaments in the world. Satellites run every day for as little as 5 FPPs, and there's a final qualifier on July 4th that will secure your seat. Find the satellites under Events/PCA/FPP Satellites on the PokerStars client. For more information on the PCA check out the PCA page.
*FPPs are points earned by playing in cash tournaments and games.
