Success for sistar8 in December 2 Women's Sunday

The first Sunday of December brought women to the tables for a number of reasons, one of them being the chance to win a PS Women Live prize package to the 2013 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. The $215 Weekly Final tournament took place again this week, but this time with a big overlay as 11 players competed for the $3,250 prize package. Congratulations to fergie56 of Canada for the win.

Keep in mind that satellites run all week for the Weekly Final. Players can go to the "Events" tab and the "PCA" category for options, and the women's PCA satellites are listed in pink. There's only a short time left to win your seat to the Ladies Event in the Bahamas, so good luck to everyone playing!

Players also turned out today for the $55 Women's Sunday. The $10K guarantee was left behind when these numbers were finalized:

Total players: 223
Prize pool: $11,150.00
Paid finishers: 36

Team PokerStars Online's Adrienne "talonchick" Rowsome was in action as one of the two $50 bounties, and she exited fairly early from the action. Team Pro's Ana Marquez, who made last week's final table, finished in 108th place today.

The money bubble approached after the 2.5-hour mark passed, and about 15 minutes before the start of the next hour, the bubble burst and luzzzy became the first player to cash for $83.62. It took about 30 minutes to thin the field to only two tables, and ultimately, hand-for-hand play led to KpacoTeHb pushing all-in UTG with A♥J♣ and running into the K♣K♥ of HUSTLheR0. The board came Q♣5♦9♠4♦9♣, and KpacoTeHb was out in tenth place with $178.40.

Strong lead for doggy920 to start

Action began at the final table in Level 17, with blinds of 1,000/2,000 and a 200 ante, along with these starting player stacks:

Seat 1: sistar8 (55,528 in chips)
Seat 2: marus005 (40,400 in chips)
Seat 3: HUSTLheR0 (70,117 in chips)
Seat 4: 66purzel66 (59,204 in chips)
Seat 5: Esmee00 (96,549 in chips)
Seat 6: Trouble6974 (42,174 in chips)
Seat 7: dumblondine (80,142 in chips)
Seat 8: jessie35555 (33,235 in chips)
Seat 9: doggy920 (191,651 in chips)

Play was somewhat cautious at the beginning, and then the shorter stacks began to double-up. Trouble6974 doubled through doggy920, and jessie35555 doubled through dumblondine. HUSTLheR0 doubled through Esmeee00, and marus005 and dumblondine each did the same through doggy920.

The good fortune had to end sometime, and it did when marus005 pushed her short stack again. Marus005 risked it all with 3♠3♦, but dumblondine had A♠A♣. The board came T♠5♣A♦J♠9♠, and the set of aces was more than enough to eliminate marus005 in ninth place with $211.85.

The next double-up was in favor of 66purzel66 through dumblondine, but the latter continued to stay near the top of the leaderboard. Meanwhile, doggy920 lost ground and soon lost the chip lead to dumblondine.

HUSTLheR0 was the next player to take the all-in plunge, and she did it from the small blind after a button raise from sistar8. HUSTLheR0 pushed with 2♣2♦, and sistar8 called 8,610 more chips with A♠3♠. The board of 7♥4♣7♦4♦9♣ brought the best two pair, and the ace kicker played to eliminate HUSTLheR0 in eighth place with $278.75.

Esmee00 pushed soon after from the big blind with 8♠8♣. Doggy920 had tried to limp in but folded to that move, and sistar8 had raised previously from the button and did make the call with A♦A♥. The aces only improved on the J♦T♣J♥5♠A♠ to a full house, sending Esmee00 out in seventh place with $390.25.

Smart moves from dumblondine and sistar8

On the very next hand, jessie35555 moved all-in UTG with J♠T♠, and dumblondine called from the big blind with A♦8♥ for 35,920 more chips. The flop of T♥A♥K♥ gave jessie35555 a pair, but dumblondine had aces and the heart flush draw. The 6♥ on the turn made that flush, so the T♦ for trip tens was meaningless. Jessie35555 had to leave in sixth place with $501.75.

Shortly thereafter, 66purzel66 made her move with A♠7♦ for 36,052 chips, and original button raiser sistar8 called with A♦Q♥. That hand dominated as the board displayed 2♠8♣J♣5♦8♠, and the queen played as a kicker to eliminate 66purzel66 in fifth place with $646.70.

Trouble6974 doubled through doggy920 to get out of trouble, while sistar8 took a pot worth 164,500 chips from dumblondine to climb further into the lead.

Doggy920, on the other hand, had to make a move and risked her 26,532 all-in with Q♣Q♠. Dumblondine had A♣6♥, but the 4♦4♠K♠ on the flop looked good for the queens. The A♠ on the turn, though, gave dumblondine two pair, and the T♥ on the river eliminated doggy920 in fourth place with $947.75.

Trouble6974 made another push, this time with 6♠6♦, and original raiser sistar8 called almost 20K chips more with J♣4♣. The board came 5♥K♦7♣J♥8♥, and the turned pair of jacks sent Trouble6974 out in third place with $1,259.95.

Sistar8 leads heads-up

The final two players began their battle with these chip counts:

Seat 1: sistar8 (569,940 in chips)
Seat 7: dumblondine (99,060 in chips)

Dumblondine started strong with this double-up:

Dumblondine was going to need another one, so she got involved with sistar8 to see a raised flop of Q♦7♥T♣. Sistar8 bet, and dumblondine check-raised all-in for 223,120 chips. Sistar8 called with Q♠J♠ for top pair, and dumblondine showed 9♥8♦ for the straight draw. Neither the 4♣ turn nor the A♠ river brought that straight, though, and dumblondine had to accept second place for $1,672.50.

Sistar8 of Greece won the Women's Sunday title and $2,280.28 in cash. Congrats!
