Time to write your WCOOP story

Thumbnail image for PS Women logo.jpgWCOOP is many things to many people, and every one of them has a story. To the thousands of players and pros who look forward to the tournament each year it's a chance to win a bracelet and the respect of peers around the world. And of course, the millions of dollars PokerStars pays out to players ($30,000,000 this year) results in some pretty great stories. For many of the women who play the series it's a chance to score a huge cash by playing the satellites that run every day. For some of them, their stories will be about getting the opportunity to square off against one of the game's biggest pros to stake their claim to fame. For every woman who plays, there's a story to tell. Here are just a few of them.

For Kathy Row, last year's PokerStars Woman of the Series, her story is about feeling like a rock star. Or at least that's the assumption judging from her screen name (rockstar2). Her $90,000 overall cash for the series in five events certainly afforded her the opportunity to buy some rock star bling, so we will assume she was feeling pretty good when it was all over. To read more about Kathy's success in last year's tournament see this post.

For Tatiana Ryzhkova (TatOchka) who won last year's $265 NLHE 6-Max KO tournament last year, there was sure to be a giant smile on her face as she deposited her check from PokerStars in the amount of $110,609. Tatiana had only signed up with PokerStars days before, so you could call that getting off to a good start. Brad Willis' article here has more to say about how she did it.

And for Team Online's Adrienne Rowsome this year's WCOOP is about playing on the new PokerStars mobile app. Her videos are entertaining and harrowing at the same time. She narrowly dodged a tornado and wildfires near her home as she played poker on her phone. Others are about more mundane matters, like getting up before dawn to play, and the challenges that go along with that.

We can't wait to hear your stories about this year's WCOOP and we know that every year the stories get bigger and better. This may be your year to tell your story. There's still plenty of time to get in on the action, with tournaments running until September 23, when the WCOOP Main Event closes out the series. Daily satellites offer and affordable entry into the the $5,000,000 guarantee tournament. So don't miss your chance to play in this life-changing tournament. The winner will pocket a guaranteed $1,00,000. That will definitely be a story we all want to hear.
