Women's Poker League: Motittas wins Division 3 for second month

League logo.jpgWe often find familiar names in the Women's Poker League standings at the end of every month. There are women who play consistently in one or more leagues, and their results are indicative of their efforts. They are among the thousands of players who take to the league tables for the love of competition. And for cash. Winners each month receive cash.

Quite the rarity, however, is a player who wins a specific division more than once. But we checked and double-checked the $5.50 division, and Motittas did win in June and July. We are impressed! Other accomplishments that stood out were players who made the top 10 in a particular division two months in a row, like Anyta belka, babkatlapka, blanckaa17, and laimee. Add in the women who crossed divisions with their running top 10 performances like CUTIE QUEEN and johorj. And let's mention blanckaa17 again, as she finished in the top 10 of the $1.10 and $5.50 divisions in July.

As we mentioned, cash prizes are awarded to the top players in each division on a monthly basis, and the very best players win seats into the year-end championship freeroll. The best ranking player in the $.10 division, top five in the $1.10, and all 10 of the $5.50 winners receive those freeroll tickets. Congrats to everyone who cashed in one way or another! Let's get to the final July numbers:

Division 1: $.10 League

This division had more activity than in many past months, with players trading positions on the leaderboard until the final day. One week before the month was over, AKowalski 00 had a hold on the number one spot, and Stellanna was close behind. Rosanne1984 and storczyk were tied for third place, and Idlucas, Isabella_Ang, MCathy68, and MARIANA19195 were all over 100 points.

One week later, it all changed. Isabella_Ang of Brazil made a run for the top spot and made it with 165 points in the 30 tournaments she played. Stellanna of Canada stuck it out in second place, ending with 145 points for her 31 tournaments, but third place was taken over by Patalhoca of Portugal, who moved up from tenth place to third in that last week with 144 points in 27 events.

Brazilian players took two of the spots this month, as did Portugal and Ukraine.

Division 2: $1.10 League

When we peeked in on this division a week before the end of July, Anyta belka was dominating, taking first place with a decent lead over her competitors. Venusfalle was doing the same in second position, though blanckaa17 and Rosanne1984 were known for their abilities to soar when needed. And with some new names rounding out the leaderboard, anything was possible.

Anyta belka of Ukraine was having none of the speculation, though. She held on to the top spot and finished with 173 points in her 30 tournaments, improving on her second place finish in June. Rosanne1984 of Vietnam did, in fact, soar, right into second place with 170 points in 29 events. Venusfalle of Germany held on for a strong third place finish with 165 points in 31 tournaments. Notably, blanckaa17 of Mexico finished in a fourth place tie while also taking sixth place in the $5.50 division this month.

Ukraine took the number one spot on the leaderboard, but Germany and Mexico each had two entries.

Division 3: $5.50 League (special words from annamfa)

With one week left in July, babkatlapka looked strong with 179 points in this division, and CUTIE QUEEN was fairly close behind with 171 points. Kirbydreams, Motittas, and apacha23 were all chasing the top spots, knowing there was time to garner points. Motittas was all too familiar with that struggle but knew how to win, having done so in June.

And Motittas did it. The Peruvian player finished the month with 212 points from only 29 tournaments and secured a second win in as many months. CUTIE QUEEN of Greece held on to second place, ending with 210 points in 31 events, and kirbydreams of Peru finished in third with 200 points for her 31 tournaments.

Peru dominated this division again, with two players in the top three spots. Russia and Mexico each had two players on the final leaderboard.
