Women's Poker League: *ShanonStar* shines in October
Of all of the events geared toward the female players of PokerStars, the Women's Poker League is one of the most popular. Not only does it give women the opportunity to win extra cash every month, they get to know their fellow competitors and share their poker interest in a way that is not common in the solitary game of poker. The WPL is unique in many ways.
In addition to cash for the top players in each division, the top finisher in the $.10 division, top five in the $1.10, and top 10 in the $5.50 division each receive tickets to a year-end freeroll. And as an added bonus in November only, players have the chance to compete against Team Pros and receive bounties for their eliminations. So many ways to win, especially this month!
While the winner of each division every month receives accolades and top cash prizes, some players deserve recognition for excelling in more than one league. This month, there were several of them. Player *ShanonStar* of Colombia astounded us in October by making the top 10 of each division, and 247ftw and NoKnowing each made two top 10 appearances. Blanckaa17 finished second in both the $1.10 and $5.50 leagues. NoKnowing also finished third in the $5.50 league after winning it in September, and blanckaa17 took second in the $1.10 division after winning last month. Stellar performances all around.
Let's look at the final standings for the month of October.
