First win for evjersen in first Women's Sunday of August

For quite a while, we've been telling you how easy it is to play your favorite poker games on PokerStars Mobile. There have been a number of promotions running during "Poker Anywhere" that awarded cash and prizes. PokerStars Women had our own competition in the form of the PS Women Mobile Mystery Freeroll.

Players who submitted the correct answer to the photo mystery received tickets to the freeroll that took place today. A total of 362 women took their seats to try to win the iPad 2, and to their surprise, there was also a $200 prize pool up for grabs! The top 54 players won cash, with the winner taking home $28.38 and the iPad 2. That player was tindels2 of Belgium. Well done!

The Women's Sunday brought a sizeable field into play for the weekly $55 women-only tournament, and the end-of-registration numbers were:

Total players: 214
Guarantee: $10,000.00
Prize pool: $10,700.00
Paid finishers: 36

Again, several members of Team PokerStars came to get in on the action, and each one of them offered a $50 bounty to any player who could knock them out of the tournament. The first to go was Team Online's Adrienne "talonchick" Rowsome, and Team Pro Liv Boeree exited soon after. Friend of PokerStars Charlotte "Sjlot" Van Brabander finished in 92nd place, and one of the team remained - Team Online's Tatiana "Mysters_Y" Barausova.

With only three tables left, she was the shortest of the stacks and finished in 20th place for $90.95. Only two tables remained at the 3.5-hour mark, and the final table bubble was on display about 20 minutes later. That bubble lasted only minutes, as zenitsucks pushed all-in with 9♠9♣ against the A♦J♥ of evjersen, and the latter hit the nut flush on the K♦7♦J♦5♦A♥ board. Zenitsucks exited in tenth place with $171.20.

Last week, m.a-0000 finished in eighth place at the Women's Sunday final table. This week, she looked for an early double-up to make another run and pushed all-in with A♣Q♥ a few hands into the final table. Original raiser evjersen called with T♦T♥, and the race was on. The interesting flop brought A♥J♦A♦ for trip aces for m.a-0000, but the 8♦ n the turn gave evjersen a flush draw. The 9♦ hit on the river to make that flush, and m.a-0000 was eliminated in ninth place for a payout of $203.30.

Bigboss827 doubled through MavisZ to climb into a strong second place on the leaderboard:

MavisZ moved all-in on the next hand, and sweet_nisi and hominin were along for the ride, checking down the board of 8♥3♥K♦K♣5♥. Sweet_nisi bet, and hominin folded. MavisZ showed her A♦8♦ for two pair, but sweet_nisi revealed 5♣5♠ for the full house. MavisZ was out in eighth for $267.50.

Pups-psih doubled through evjersen, and sweet_nisi did the same at the expense of evjersen. HajnikaAA then doubled through pups-psih, leaving the latter as the short stack again.

Pups-psih doubled through bigboss827 to stay in action, but she moved all-in again a short time later. The hand started with a button raise from evjersen, and pups-psih reraised from the big blind for 75,516 chips with A♠5♦. Evjersen showed J♣J♥, and that hand only improved to quads on the J♠8♥T♠2♦J♦ board. Pups-psih left the tournament in seventh place with $374.50.

About an hour into the final table, HajnikaAA pushed all-in with A♦9♠, and hominin called from the big blind for 20,452 more chips with J♦9♦. And the board of 2♦T♥K♦6♦8♣ delivered the flush for hominin, who eliminated HajnikaAA in sixth place for $481.50.

Sweet_nisi, who finished fourth in this tournament just a few weeks ago, doubled through evjersen, but the two tangled again a bit later. Sweet_nisi pushed her 114,500 chips all-in with 7♠7♦, but evjersen quickly called with K♦K♠. The board came J♠4♠K♣9♦3♣, and the set of kings was more than enough to eliminate sweet_nisi in fifth place with $620.60.

A few hands later, n@ch0_666 moved all-in UTG with T♣7♦, but bigboss827 called from the small blind with A♠A♥, which improved on the flop of 5♣A♦6♥ to a set of aces. The 2♥ on the turn changed nothing, and the 5♦ on the river only completed a full house, sending n@ch0_666 out in fourth place with $909.50.

Hominin then doubled through bigboss827 to stay alive:

That left bigboss827 as the new short stack, and she moved all-in for less than 100K chips with A♥6♥. Evjersen called with A♠J♦, which stayed the best hand on the 7♣5♠J♥Q♠6♣ board. Bigboss827 was out in third place with $1,209.10.

Evjersen still ahead in heads-up

The starting chips counts for the heads-up battle were:

Seat 1: evjersen (494,280 in chips)
Seat 6: hominin (147,720 in chips)

Hominin couldn't gain much momentum but did find an opportunity to double up with pocket sixes over A-7 to sit at 234,440 chips. Hominin then kept climbing and eventually took over the chip lead. However, evjersen didn't waste much time looking for her chance and found it with pocket jacks against the A-3 of hominin. The board brought A-2-J-3-3 to give each player a full house, but evjersen's was the better of the two and gave her the double-up and the lead.

The two continued to battle for a total of about an hour. Finally, with the lead back in evjersen's corner, hominin moved all-in with K♥Q♥, and evjersen called with A♠Q♣. The board came 3♣2♥A♦9♠5♠, and the pair of aces was more than enough to win. Hominin took second place and $1,605.00.

Norway's evjersen, who recently finished fifth in a Women's Sunday, took the title today, along with $2,188.15 in cash. Congrats
