Psycho1407 wins crazy September 15 Women's Sunday

The tables on PokerStars this Sunday were packed. It was the most crowded poker room on the planet, but luckily, everyone got a seat.

The 2013 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) was in full swing with events galore and millions of dollars up for grabs. Of course, the women of PokerStars had extra incentive to do well in the tournaments, as the Woman of the Series - highest ranking woman of WCOOP - will win a $3,500 PCA Ladies Event package!

PokerStars Women was also running its weekly PS Women Live final tournament, where a prize package to an EPT Women's Event of your choice was guaranteed for the winner. This week, kittymstar of Taiwan won it by defeating 14 other players in the satellite. Don't forget to qualify for this weekly final during the week for as little as €1.10! All of the details are here.

And, of course, the Women's Sunday was in action! The $55 buy-in NLHE tournament a solid field today:

Total players: 238
Guarantee: $10,000.00
Prize pool: $11,900.00
Paid finishers: 36

Of the three members of Team PokerStars who played with $50 bounties on their virtual heads, Friend of PokerStars Charlotte "Sjlot" Van Brabander was the first one to give away that bounty, as she exited the event early. Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree ran deep but departed in 75th place, while Team Online's Adrienne "talonchick" Rowsome followed soon after in 63rd place.

The money bubble burst just before the three-hour mark of the tournament, and players were guaranteed $89.25 as minimum payouts. Play continued and reduced the field to two tables in less than an hour.

Hand-for-hand play began as the four-hour mark hit, and it took only a few minutes for ruby8578 to push all-in preflop with 4♥4♠. PblBeLIJka moved all-in to isolate with J♠J♦, and it worked. The board of 9♥4♦3♦5♦7♦ gave ruby8578 a set but PblBeLIJka the flush, and ruby8578 had to leave in tenth place with $190.40.

VonEmilios starts at the top

When the final table got underway in Level 19 (blinds at 1,500/3,000 and a 300 ante), the players' chip counts were as follows:

Seat 1: secky_yuki (52,092 in chips)
Seat 2: DaliaAllin (60,894 in chips)
Seat 3: Psycho1407 (54,666 in chips)
Seat 4: Martha79 (115,301 in chips)
Seat 5: Galazaikina (62,551 in chips)
Seat 6: VonEmilios (127,839 in chips)
Seat 7: 7LuckyAlexa7 (107,961 in chips)
Seat 8: Natja16 (60,017 in chips)
Seat 9: PblBeLIJka (72,679 in chips)

After a few initial raise-it-and-take-it hands, a big one developed. Galazaikina raised from early position, and secky_yuki reraised all-in from the small blind. DaliaAllin reraised all-in from the big blind, and Galazaikina called them both and had them covered with A♦A♣. DaliaAllin showed Q♠Q♣, and secky_yuki had 4♦4♣. The board helped no one when it came 7♠9♣8♣9♠6♠, except the holder of the pocket aces. That left secky_yuki out in ninth place with $226.10 and DaliaAllin out in eighth with $297.50.

Martha79 had taken over the chip lead, but VonEmilios was having none of it. This double-up changed everything:

Martha79 was left with only a few chips, which were all-in in the big blind of the next hand. PblBeLIJka ended up with A♠9♥ on a 2♣8♦Q♣A♦7♣ board for top pair, and Martha79's 5♦5♠ left her out in seventh place with $416.50.

The rise of 7LuckyAlexa7

A few hands later, 7LuckyAlexa7 started a hand with a raise, and Natja16 responded with a button reraise all-in for nearly 31K. PblBeLIJka reraised all-in from the small blind, and the big blind and 7LuckyAlexa7 folded. PblBeLIJka was ahead with A♣K♠, while Natja16 needed help for her A♦2♥. But the board of 4♠T♥K♦4♦J♦ didn't provide that help, leaving Natja16 out in sixth place with $535.50.

And shortly after, 7LuckyAlexa7 doubled through the chip leader to take over that spot:

PblBeLIJka doubled through VonEmilios to make things worse for the former chip leader, but then Psycho1407 doubled through PblBeLIJka, and the latter in that situation doubled through 7LuckyAlexa7.

VonEmilios took her chance with nearly 69K chips, moving all-in from the small blind with A♣Q♠ after a button raise from Galazaikina. That prompted a call from Galazaikina with 8♣8♠, and the board of 2♦5♠J♠J♥J♦ gave Galazaikina the full house. VonEmilios was eliminated in fifth place with $690.20.

Psycho1407 takes over

As players exchanged chips, Psycho1407 was steadily moving up the leaderboard and took over the chip lead.

PblBeLIJka then risked her chips with A♥Q♦ against the 2♣2♥ of 7LuckyAlexa7, and the two of them watched the board produce 7♦2♠6♥7♣7♠. 7LuckyAlexa7 ended up with the full house, and PblBeLIJka had to accept the $1,011.50 for her fourth place finish.

And then Galazaikina began a comeback. It started with this double through Psycho1407:

A few rounds later, Galazaikina doubled through 7LuckyAlexa7 with A-K over A-J. That left 7LuckyAlexa7 in trouble, and she pushed her last 35K chips in three hands later with A♦9♦. Galazaikina was there with A♠3♦, but the flop of K♥Q♥3♥ put Galazaikina in the lead with the pair of threes. The 7♥ turn and T♠ river finished the hand, leaving 7LuckyAlexa7 out in third place with $1,344.70.

Tense heads-up battle

The last two players standing started heads-up play with these counts:

Seat 3: Psycho1407 (412,665 in chips)
Seat 5: Galazaikina (301,335 in chips)

Galazaikina put up a solid fight, but Psycho1407 seemed to have the momentum. The last hand saw Galazaikina down to less than 130K chips, and she moved it all-in with A♠7♠. Psycho1407 challenged with A♣2♥, but the flop of T♠2♣J♦ gave Psycho1407 the lead. The K♦ turn and 8♦ river ended the hand with a pair of deuces eliminating Galazaikina in second place with $1,785.00.

Psycho1407 of Germany won the Women's Sunday and $2,433.55 in cash. Congrats!
