Quantic0 conquers September 22 Women's Sunday

At PokerStars Women, we tend to focus our attention on the Women's Sunday every weekend because of the exciting action in the $55 buy-in event. And it certainly deserves our eyes on the Internet poker screens. Other events did as well.

The 2013 WCOOP was in its third weekend of the largest tournament series of the year, and the female players were showing themselves as a force with which to be reckoned. The Woman of the Series competition was on, with a $3,500 PCA Ladies Event package awaiting the top-finishing female player of the WCOOP, and players were all-too-anxious to get in on the action.

And another PS Women Live EPT Women's Event prize package was guaranteed in the €100 Weekly Final as well. The tournament played out today with Myran2001 of Sweden winning her €1,100 package. Take your shot this week for as little as €1.10!

Back to the Women's Sunday, the field was solid for this week's action:

Total players: 225
Guarantee: $10,000.00
Prize pool: $11,250.00
Paid finishers: 36

Friend of PokerStars Charlotte "Sjlot" Van Brabander was in the field with a $50 bounty on her virtual head, and one of her competitors grabbed it after about an hour of play. Team Online's Adrienne "talonchick" Rowsome was also in the tournament until she exited in 100th place.

The money bubble burst just minutes before the three-hour mark of the tournament, and the players were then guaranteed at least $84.37 for their efforts. And within the hour, the final 10 players were on the final table bubble. Katie "hotjenny314" Dozier was on the short stack and pushed on the button with Q♣9♣, but hominin called from the big blind with A♥T♦. The board brought 3♦8♠5♣K♠T♥, and hotjenny314 finished in tenth place with $180.00.

On the very first hand of action, short-stacked misskrasa85 pushed all-in from the big blind after an initial raise from gkev1 and reraise from Quantic0. Gkev1 folded, but Quantic0 called with A♠7♠, but misskrasa85 was in favor of a double-up with A♥K♣. The flop of J♠4♣Q♥7♥2♣ changed nothing, but the 7♥ on the turn gave Quantic0 the pair. The 2♣ river card eliminated misskrasa85 in ninth place with $213.75.

Crankychick doubled through gkev1, leaving the latter with little more than 6K in her stack. Gkev1 called all-in from the small blind with 9♠3♠, and original raiser ovoxoxxxooox showed K♠9♥. The board came Q♦7♥J♥9♣Q♥, and the king kicker eliminated gkev1 in eighth place with $281.25.

Minutes later, Ladyteetime made her move with K♥2♠ after a button raise from hominin. But hominin called and showed J♦J♠, and nothing about the Q♦6♣9♠A♥7♣ board changed anything. Ladyteetime exited in seventh place with $393.75.

The next few rounds saw a change on the leaderboard through some aggressive play. Elz442 climbed into first place, but then T0RDENGUDEN took over that top spot, pushing Elz442 to fourth and hominin into second. Ovoxoxxxooox was relegated to third place, but the top chip stacks were relatively close together.

After about 30 minutes of seven-handed play, T0RDENGUDEN pushed all-in from the small blind with A♥9♣. Original button raiser Quantic0 called with A♦J♣, and the board blanked with K♦3♣5♦8♠7♠. The kicker played, and T0RDENGUDEN was eliminated in sixth place with $506.25.

A short time later, crankychick risked all of her chips from the small blind with 7♥7♦, and original raiser ovoxoxxxooox called with K♠Q♠ for the race situation. The board came 3♥8♠5♥8♥Q♣, and ovoxoxxxooox' two pair were better. Crankychick exited in fifth place with $652.50.

Elz442 raised and found herself faced with an all-in reraise from Quantic0. Elz442 called all-in with A♠8♠. Quantic0 showed 7♥7♣ and made a full house on the Q♥4♣7♦4♦9♣ board. Elz442 was out in fourth place with $956.25.

Hominin tried to limp in with A♠9♠, but Quantic0 made a raise all-in to challenge her. Hominin called all-in, and Quantic0 showed A♣Q♦. The flop of 4♦J♣Q♠ gave Quantic0 the pair of queens, and nothing changed on the 3♦ turn or T♠ river. Hominin was gone in third place with $1,271.25.

Heads-up starts with Quantic0 dominating

The starting heads-up chip counts were as follows:

Seat 1: Quantic0 (507,241 in chips)
Seat 5: ovoxoxxxooox (167,759 in chips)

On the second hand of heads-up, ovoxoxxxooox took a pot worth nearly 100K, but Quantic0 followed up with this next hand:

It didn't take long for the match to end, as Quantic0 maintained an aggressive style. Ovoxoxxxooox finally risked her stack of 115K chips with 2♦2♥, but Quantic0 called with 3♠3♣. The board rolled out T♠7♣7♦4♠A♥, and the tournament was over with ovoxoxxxooox taking second place for $1,687.50.

Congrats to Quantic0 for her Women's Sunday victory, for which she won $2,300.73.
