Slimlady23 wins Women's Sunday after three-way chop

It's tough to keep our cool this weekend. Not because the weather is warming up, but we are simply so excited about the second birthday of our Women's Sunday!

Next weekend, the Women's Sunday Birthday Special will take the place of our usual fare. It will be the same tournament but with a $20K guarantee and $100 bounties on the many Team Pros who will participate. Exciting, no?

But there's more! We are hosting a photo competition that is in progress. Every entry will win a $5.50 Women's Sunday satellite ticket, and the two best birthday greetings will win $55 Women's Sunday seats. There are also freerolls happening all week and a live YouTube/Google chat next Saturday with some of your favorite Team Pros. (We'll be announcing more about that this week so you know how to join us.)

We hope you're getting into the spirit! Two years of this great tournament has only inspired us to do more, like the Women's Tuesday and our Daily Specials, not to mention the PokerStars Women's Club that grows by the day.

Get all of the information about the Women's Sunday birthday from this post, and watch for more coming this week.

So, let's get to today's action!

Total players: 296
Guarantee: $10,000.00
Prize pool: $14,800.00
Paid finishers: 45

There were two members of the PokerStars Team in action, each offering a $50 bounty. The first to exit the tournament was Team Online's Adrienne "talonchick" Rowsome, who was ousted by nutbreakerLL. They discussed it on Twitter:

nutbreakerLA: Won my first @PokerStarsWomen bounty for taking out the fabulous @talonchick .

talonchick: @nutbreakerLA @PokerStarsWomen Congrats! I thought my 88 was going to make me a hero! Happy St. Patrick's Day!

A bit later, Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst left the tournament in 103rd place.

Play moved forward through the money bubble after the three-hour mark, and the field was reduced to just two tables a few minutes into the next hour. It took about 20 minutes to get to hand-for-hand play, and then it happened. DieSchumis pushed all-in with Q♦J♣ but ran into the Q♣Q♠ of leanelinda. The board came 7♠2♠2♦3♣3♦ and eliminated DieSchumis in tenth place with $222.00.

Lamrleader is our leader

Players took their seats at the last table in Level 21, bith blinds of 2,500/5,000, a 500 ante, and these chip counts:

Seat 1: POLONY210 (107,752 in chips)
Seat 2: yvoaro (64,772 in chips)
Seat 3: slimlady23 (127,451 in chips)
Seat 4: manyya (162,608 in chips)
Seat 5: leanelinda (83,384 in chips)
Seat 6: crankychick (54,914 in chips)
Seat 7: pamrleader (166,636 in chips)
Seat 8: annakoda8 (87,470 in chips)
Seat 9: merry89 (33,013 in chips)

On the very first hand of action, crankychick doubled through POLONY210. Then merry89 doubled through slimlady23 and then through crankychick, and POLONY210 did it once through pamrleader. Crankychick doubled back through merry89.

It was inevitable that one of those moves wouldn't work out. It happened when leanelinda made her all-in push from the button with 7♣4♣. Pamrleader called from the big blind with 8♣8♦, and only improved to a set on the K♥Q♦7♥8♠3♣ board. That left leanelinda out in ninth place with $259.00.

Yvoaro doubled through annakoda8, and the latter became one of the shorter stacks at the table. Soon after, a hand started with an UTG raise from pamrleader and all-in reraise from annakoda8. Merry89 reraised all-in, and pamrleader called both players with A♥K♠. Merry89 showed A♦A♣, and annakoda8 turned over J♥J♠. The board came 3♠6♦T♥6♥4♠, and merry89 collected the side pot and main pot. Annakoda8 departed in eighth place with $355.20.

Four hands later, another big hand developed. Pamrleader raised from middle position, and merry89 reraised from the button. POLONY210 called all-in from the small blind, and pamrleader called. Merry89 and pamrleader checked the Q♦A♣6♥ flop and J♥ turn. The T♦ on the river prompted pamrleader to bet all-in with A♦K♥, and merry89 called with K♦K♣. They split the pot, as POLONY210 turned over 7♥7♦ and had to leave in seventh place with $503.20.

Yvoaro then hit a solid triple through pamrleader and merry89 with this hand:

Crankychick doubled through pamrleader, but she was still fairly short. She pushed her 79K chips all-in with A♣J♥, and manyya called with 8♣8♦. The flop of 8♠6♥6♣ made a full house for manyya, and the 3♥ turn and 2♠ river cards merely finished the hand so crankychick (who final tabled a Women's Sunday in 2011) could leave in sixth place with her $651.20.

Pamrleader was in trouble but staged a comeback with this double through slimlady23:

Yvoaro tried to limp UTG, and manyya called. Pamrleader raised all-in, and yvoaro called all-in with 7♥7♦. Manyya folded, and pamrleader showed a dominating Q♣Q♠. Nothing about the board of 4♥J♣3♥2♠4♠ changed that, and yvoaro was eliminated in fifth place with $843.60.

Manyya then doubled through pamrleader in a massive 341K pot. Three hands later, pamrleader pushed all-in from the big blind with 4♦4♣, and original UTG raiser merry89 called with A♦K♦. The board brought K♣2♦8♦A♠8♠, and the top two pair sent pamrleader (who just final tabled this event three weeks ago) out in fourth place with $1,221.00.

Deal for final three

The final three players wanted to discuss a deal, though it took a while to get the attention of a host to assist. They paused the tournament, looked at ICM and chip-chop deal numbers, and finally decided on the chip-chop as follows:

Seat 3: slimlady23 (241,416 in chips) = $2,104.80
Seat 4: manyya (348,032 in chips) = $2,315.36
Seat 9: merry89 (298,552 in chips) = $2,217.64

Play resumed, and this happened on the very first hand:

Two hands after that, it was over. Merry89 started with a raise, and slimlady23 rraised. Manyya called all-in with Q♦T♥, and merry89 called all-in with T♣T♠. Slimlady23 showed K♠T♦ and caught a king on the 4♦5♣K♦ flop for top pair. The 7♥ on the turn and A♠ on the river ended the hand and the tournament. Manyya took third place and merry89 took second for the aforementioned payouts.

Slimlady23 took the title and $2,104.80 in cash for the win. Congrats!
