Fishfood4eve devours opponents in February 9 Women's Sunday

As the world watches some exciting winter sporting events, PokerStars has kicked up its own "Support Your Country" promotion. It's a time when people look toward representatives of their countries to succeed, and players at PokerStars can get in on the winning action, too.

Keep your eye on the PS Women blog space this week for an exciting way to support your country in next week's Women's Sunday. We'll tell you more in a few days!

Meanwhile, we had a very exciting Women's Sunday today, filled with familiar players and some great poker. Here were the final registration numbers:

Total players: 221
Guarantee: $10,000.00
Prize pool: $11,050.00
Paid finishers: 36

The bounty today was on Team PokerStars Online's Adrienne "talonchick" Rowsome, who gave up that $50 bounty when she was knocked out early in the action.

The money bubble burst more than 2.5 hours into the tournament, and the remaining players were guaranteed at least $82.87 for their efforts. Less than one hour later, only two tables remained as players vied for seats at the final table. Ultimately, it was lisaluce who pushed her 39,033 chips all-in with A♦7♠ from the small blind, and original button raiser m.a-0000 called with A♠K♣. The board came J♦3♠3♦6♦9♠, and lisaluce exited in tenth place for $176.80.

The final table was then set, with these players and chip counts:

Seat 1: GeFeX 8 (85,028 in chips)
Seat 2: lini0728 (52,084 in chips)
Seat 3: pamrleader (54,686 in chips)
Seat 4: El_Porqu3 (78,393 in chips)
Seat 5: noty2007 (37,582 in chips)
Seat 6: Fishfood4eve (108,524 in chips)
Seat 7: Ekstra7 (40,594 in chips)
Seat 8: HUSTLheR0 (75,895 in chips)
Seat 9: m.a-0000 (130,214 in chips)

Players launched into action on the very first hand, at which point noty2007 pushed her short stack all-in from the small blind with A♦5♣. Fishfood4eve called from the big blind with A♠9♠, which only improved to two pair on the 9♣3♦J♣8♠J♦ board. Noty2007 was out in ninth place with $209.95.

Ekstra7 then lost a substantial pot to lini0728, and her last 6,844 chips went all-in two hands later with 4♥4♦. Pamrleader called from the small blind with 7♦7♣. The A♣5♥6♦8♣ on the board offered straight draws to both players, but the 4♣ on the river gave it to pamrleader. Ekstra7 was eliminated in eighth place for $276.25.

Pamrleader was in trouble and pushed all-in for less than 40K with A♥6♠. El_Porqu3 reraised all-in with A♣K♣ to isolate, which worked. The community cards revealed 5♣7♦T♦5♥9♣, and the king played to eliminate pamrleader in seventh place for $386.75.

HUSTLheR0 doubled through m.a-0000, but the latter than took a pot worth more than 106K from lini0728. When HUSTLheR0 was ready to move again a few hands later, though, it was El_Porqu3 ready for the action. HUSTLheR0 risked it all with A♣T♥, but El_Porqu3 was ahead with T♦T♠. The board brought K♥7♥J♣4♦J♠, and HUSTLheR0 was gone in sixth place with $497.25.

GeFeX 8 had been fairly quiet to that point but got her chips in against lini0728 and doubled up:

Just a few hands later, a big hand developed with an UTG raise from Fishfood4eve, a reraise from lini0728 in the small blind, and a call from Fishfood4eve. The 6♣4♥A♣ brought a bet from Fishfood4eve and check-call from lini0728. The 2♦ on the turn prompted Fishfood4eve to bet all-in with A♠Q♣ for top pair. Lini0738 check-called all-in with J♥J♣ and lost, taking home $640.90 for fifth place.

After a bit of four-handed play, El_Porqu3 was the all-in player holding A♥Q♦ against the A♦J♠ of m.a-0000. But the board delivered 7♦6♦T♠T♦9♦ for a diamond flush for m.a-0000. El_Porqu3 was ousted in fourth place with $939.25.

That put m.a-0000 in the chip lead, and she continued to chip up during three-handed play. Eventually, Fishfood4eve made a move to secure a solid second place:

GeFeX 8 was the shortest of the three stacks and finally made a push with Q♦J♣ as the first to act, and m.a-0000 called from the big blind holding A♠Q♥. The board came T♣4♠2♦7♣Q♠, and GeFeX 8 was gone in third place with $1,248.65.

Canada versus Sweden heads-up

The last two players took these stacks into battle:

Seat 6: Fishfood4eve (175,630 in chips)
Seat 9: m.a-0000 (487,370 in chips)

It didn't take long for Fishfood4eve to find a double-up opportunity:

And Fishfood4eve continued to chip up until the original chip counts were nearly reversed. That led m.a-0000 to push all-in with A♦2♥ and less than 200K chips. Fishfood4eve called with 9♥9♠, and that pair turned to two on the 3♦3♥6♠4♥8♥ board. M.a-0000 was denied another Women's Sunday title, and Fishfood4eve claimed her first, along with $2,259.83 in cash. Congrats!
