It took all day, all night, and most of the next morning, but the Estrellas Poker Tour has its latest champion.
After a marathon session that took the final table players into the morning light, Ricardo Escobar emerged as the victor. For his effort (and ability to stay awake) Escobar earned €103,500.
Escobar started playing poker on PokerStars in 2005. After working in the catering industry for a bit, he took to playing poker professionally. Though the 29-year-old is primarily a cash game player, he managed to turn on his tourney skills at the right time.
While most of the congratulations go to Escobar this morning, we have to take a moment to congratulate our fellow member of the poker media Remko Rinkema. A journalist and poker hobbyist, Rinkema turned his hobby into nearly €30,000 for his fourth place finish. Not bad for a guy who claims making the dinner break of the WSOP as his best ever live finish.
Congrats to everyone who survived the overnight final table!
