MicroMillions 6: Coast-to-coast for flavioabbud in Event #6 ($2.20 NLHE+R 2xTurbo)

When a player enters a final table with a massive chip lead, there's almost an unfair expectation that they will run away with the victory. Poker is just not that simple, so it's refreshing when we do actually see a chip leader carry their advantage all the way to the title. Today it was Brazil's flavioabbud who did exactly that, dominating the final table to turn a couple of dollars into over seven thousand and the MicroMillions title.

Event #6 of MIcroMillions 6 was a $2.20 No Limit Holdem Rebuy 2xTurbo event. Rebuys and turbos are always popular at the micro limits and this was no exception as 7,492 players came together for 15,733 rebuys and another 3,695 add-ons to create a massive prize pool of $53,840 to shatter the advertised guarantee.

The top 990 players would take home some cash with bagnus from Mexico the unfortunate bubble in 991st place as everyone else had locked up a guaranteed $12.38 return.

After just four and a half hours of play, a double elimination on the final table bubble would see massakra's pocket sixes and Naiort's ace-seven both fall to the Broadway straight of flavioabbud to see the final table of nine formed as follows:

Final Table Line up
Seat 1: GersonTJF (5,519,422 in chips)
Seat 2: kamchadal007 (2,815,746 in chips)
Seat 3: flavioabbud (30,139,378 in chips)
Seat 4: BecomTheBull (6,294,917 in chips)
Seat 5: teo_nqc (5,838,513 in chips)
Seat 6: chard4201 (6,128,114 in chips)
Seat 7: gelp0810 (6,192,488 in chips)
Seat 8: Skellur13 (7,171,294 in chips)
Seat 9: plutarsch (13,300,128 in chips)

The final table kicked off at 250k/500k/50k which meant there was pressure on at least seven of the nine players with flavioabbud holding such a commanding chip advantage.

chard4201 looked like becoming the first casualty of the final table after running into BecomTheBull's pocket aces, but the poker Gods had something to say about that:

BecomTheBull was crippled to less than the price of a single big blind, and two hands later was all in from under the gun with Q♥7♥. teo_nqc was next to speak and moved all in holding A♣Q♣, while the short-stacked kamchadal007 saw some value and committed from the small blind with a dominated K♦Q♦. The board ran out 5♣6♠J♥4♦J♦ as we had ourselves another double KO. BecomTheBull took $417.26 for 9th place as the shortest stack while kamchadal007 picked up $646.08 for 8th.

plutarsch said, "any of u guys interested in making a deal ? i mean we can just take a look at the numbers"
teo_nqc said, "ask Flavio if he want to deal"
teo_nqc said, "he is the most chip right now."

It takes a fair bit of coordinating to get seven people to all click the deal button, but it's a near impossibility to get them all to agree to a deal. They tried, they failed, and the cards were quickly back in the air.

After being first to try and initiate a deal, it would ironically be plutarsch who was the next to fall. plutarsch opened with a raise before the chip leader flavioabbud moved all infrom the big blind. plutarsch made the call with A♣J♥ and was in great shape to double up against flavioabbud's dominated J♦9♦ but the board ran out Q♣9♠8♥5♣3♣ to spike a nine-ball for flavioabbud to take it down. plutarsch would have to be content with $1,184.48 for 7th place.

It was only a couple of hands later when gelp0810 committed all in from the small blind against teo_nqc, but again it was a cruel ending:

Quads for teo_nqc smacked gelp0810 to the rail in devastating fashion, to leave gelp0810 to collect $1,722.88 for 6th place.

chard4201 was one card away from being next to go, but a king on the river paired the ace-king to win a race against flavioabbud's pocket fives, to bring the chip leader back to the pack a little.

However flavioabbud was able to regain those chips when teo_nqc had a bit of a brain snap. It was a battle of the blinds with flavioabbud raising before teo_nqc three-bet. flavioabbud four-bet all in and teo_nqc decided to call it off and gamble with 9♠8♦. The cards were live against flavioabbud's A♦Q♠ but the board blanked out 5♥5♦J♦4♦K♥ to see teo_nqc make a disappointing exit in 5th place for $2,261.28 in prize money.

Two hands later and flavioabbud had claimed another victim. The short-stacked Skellur13 moved all in preflop with K♣T♦ which trailed flavioabbud's A♠8♣. The flop was a pretty emphatic 8♥A♣9♣, although Skellur13 did find straight and flush draws on the 7♣ turn. However the river bricked the Q♦ to see Skellur13 take home $2,961.20 for 4th place.

The three remaining players were then quick to pause the clock to take another look at the numbers.

flavioabbud: i need money for hookers and blow
chard4201: i just need damn money

Chip chop and ICM numbers were presented but the players weren't satisfied.

flavioabbud: chip chop or lets play
GersonTJF: 5k or lets play

We had ourselves a Mexican standoff, so the cards were launched back into the air.

However when the short-stacked GersonTJF caught a rivered pair of kings with king-queen to better flavioabbud's ace-ten, the landscape had changed so the players took another look at a potential deal.

ICM numbers were manipulated a little with flavioabbud getting the lion's share with GersonTJF and chard4201 giving up a little bit of equity as $600 and the MicroMillions title was left in the middle to play for.

flavioabbud didn't waste any time finishing off the job when play resumed. A three-bet shove by flavioabbud with 3♦3♥ was called by GersonTJF holding A♦T♠ with the pair holding true on the board of 7♦6♦7♣5♦Q♣. GersonTJF collected $5,700 for 3rd place as we were heads up for the title.

Heads-up chip counts
Seat 3: flavioabbud (61,767,544 in chips)
Seat 6: chard4201 (21,632,456 in chips)

flavioabbud held a three-to-one chip lead and finished the coast-to-coast run in fine style, winning all four heads-up pots played. The final hand saw chard4201 jam for almost twenty big blinds with J♠8♠ but walked straight into flavioabbud's monster Q♣Q♥. The board of 2♠Q♦7♥9♦J♦ was the exclamation point on a crushing victory as chard4201 had to be content with $5,457.77 for 2nd place. flavioabbud dominated from the get-go and thoroughly deserved the title and $7,400 in prize money. Congratulations!
