caipsa captures 12/18/12 Super Tuesday, $97K first prize

The holiday season is upon us, but for the Super Tuesday -- PokerStars' weekly $1,050 no-limit hold'em tournament -- there's no holiday respite. The top 63 finishers made the money, with caipsa of Peru ultimately taking the top spot and $97,660 first prize. Finding a final table It took a little over five-and-a-half hours for the field to be trimmed to 63 and the cash bubble to burst....more

MicroMillions III Day 5 review: Seven-way chops as we approach $3.5m paid out

The MicroMillions provides something that other poker series simply don't. Top quality tournaments where you can spin a small buy-in into thousands of dollars? Well, yes, but that's not the point in this case. A seven-way chop, that's what. Not only that, but a seven-way chop that pays the seventh-place...more

MicroMillions III Day 4 review: Making massive bankrolls the micro way

If you're yet to fully digest the fact that the MicroMillions allows you to parlay a small buy-in up to an annual salary then look no further than Event #34. MicroMillions III Day 3 review: Beating the $5,000,000 guarantee

There is a $5,000,000 guarantee on the MicroMillion series. Five million bucks for small buy-in events. That should be a pretty hard nut to crack, right? Apparently not. We're just a quarter of the way through the 100 events (that's 25, okay) and we're almost at the $2,000,000 mark... and...more

MicroMillions III Day 2 review: Total prizes cross $1.25 million mark

If popular psychology held any weight whatsoever, you might think PokerStars' low-limit festival would get a complex. All we do all day long as talk about how small its buy-ins are or how "micro" it is. Some people might have even called it "cute." It's the type of thing that...more

MicroMillions III Day 1 review: Horecki's 46 buy-ins

Team PokerStars Pro Marcin 'Goral' Horecki isn't usually known as a reckless or cavalier player. There's usually balance, a calm and methodical approach to the game, an understanding of position and what he may be up against both pre- and post-flop. That Horecki was nowhere to be seen in the...more

PokerStars weekend review (11-12-12)

Now that the US presidential election is over what do we have to look forward to in the news? There are no crazed pundits frothing over tax cuts, public spending or folders which may or may not be full of women. We have another three-and-a-half years before Ohio makes its...more
