$100,000, 95 countries, one great ROI story
The PokerStars Sunday Hundred Grand tournament has quickly become one of the most popular tournaments in all of online poker. With an affordable $10 buy-in and seats for more than 22,000 players, the $20,000 draws a crowd every Sunday. On a recent weekend, 22,508 from 95 different counties (nearly half the countries in the world, if you're counting) competed in the event. The final table featured players from seven different countries, including a player named julesdAA.
Recently, PokerStars opened up some even more affordable sateliltes to the Sunday Hundred Grand. Players have a chance to get into the event for just 210 Frequent Player Points in the 20-player satellites. On a whim, julesdAA entered one of the satellites. He'd never played the Hundred Grand before. He usually plays affordable SNGs and cash games. This time, he placed in the top six of the 20-player satellite and ended up with a seat in the Hundred Grand.
"I have not really played too many MTTs," he said.
No matter how many big tournaments he'd played, julesdAA had one big Sunday and turned his 210 Frequent Player Points into more than $1,000.
"Right now I'm in university so I'll definitely use it to help pay off school," he said, "but I'm also going to try and enjoy a bit of it as well."
Congratulations to julesdAA for one great ROI story.
