Beyond the SCOOP

ps_news_thn.jpgWe know, we know. There is nothing in the world of online poker right now that is more exciting than our Spring Championship of Online Poker. We think our position on the subject is clear, what with the 24 or so stories we've written about it over the past few days. That said, PokerStars is still running its Sunday majors (excepting the Million, of course) and crushing some guarantees.

Take, if you will, the Sunday Warm-Up. It drew 4,107 people and carried a $821,400 prize pool. Winner Gabegnagare pulled in $105,960.60 win for his first place finish. For a full final table recap, visit the 4/5/09 Sunday Warm-Up final table report.

That's not all, of course. The guarantees on Sunday were hopping. Here is just a smattering of Sunday's big results.

Sunday 1/4 Million
Prize pool: $292,140
Winner: scottofaz -- $27,743

Sunday Second Chance
Prize pool: $308,400
Winner: mikki696 -- $55,512

$215 rebuy
Prize pool: $225,600
Winner: ActionJeff -- $46,248

You might also be interested to know that Sunday isn't the only day for big tournaments on PokerStars. Tomorrow is the regular stop for Super Tuesday, the $350,000 guaranteed $1,050 event. Don't want to drop the full buy-in? PokerStars is running satellites for the event all the time.

With all that said, SCOOP is still going on and will be for the next seven days. Keep here for reports on every final table.
