Sunday Warm-Up: AnyTw0_Card$ quickly claims win and $74K
The $425,000.00 guarantee Sunday Warm-Up final table was like watching eight runners trying to climb an icy mountain while one causally walked to place the Union Jack at the top without breaking a sweat. AnyTw0_Card$ took full advantage of a large chip lead going into the final table and turned it into $74,449.64 after shutting down the table in under an hour.
Read on below for the tale of AnyTw0_Card$'s dominate victory.
After making the final table of the Eighth Anniversary Sunday Million and banking $137K for the eighth place finish, it was not quite the same ending for Uninc257 taking home $1,743.44 in 18th place.
Yurec1707 would take out fellow Ukrainian Chirkov77 in 13th place ($2,403.12) denying Chirkov77 a second shot at a Sunday Major after a runner-up finish in April taking home $169K in the Sunday Million.
Only eleven players would continue on to the ninth hour play as Sweden's Storchy4 would miss out on the spotlights and the five-minute rest after taking away $3.062.80 in 12th place. Second hand back from the break jdtpoker's shortstack shove with J♥K♠ would miss the 6♥ T♠ 3♠ 5♥ 9♣ board against DannyN13's A♦Q♦ setting up hand-for-hand play.
Twenty minutes into hand-for-hand play and no one was willing to step off the stage. AnyTw0_Card$ was pushing around Table 29 winning eight of the last nine hands, and leading off with another raise. Yurec1707 was tired of the bullying and shoved for 1.79 million holding sixes 6♠6♥. AnyTw0_Card$ was not pushing with air calling with pocket eights 8♣8♠. Both players would have shoved post-flop anyway after flopping sets 6♣ K♦ 8♦ Q♥ A♥. Yurec1707's demise was the key to opening up the final table below:
Seat 1: callmemanu (1441399 in chips)
Seat 2: orange6 (914340 in chips)
Seat 3: *$lim* (1866566 in chips)
Seat 4: Sne1231 (1564176 in chips)
Seat 5: AnyTw0_Card$ (10160159 in chips)
Seat 6: Vlad0KK (1630134 in chips)
Seat 7: RonDamongo (1866220 in chips)
Seat 8: DannyN13 (748086 in chips)
Seat 9: Farley2008 (3368920 in chips)
AnyTw0_Card$ arrived with a massive eight figure stack as only Farley2008 held more than two million chips. But neither would factor in on the first elimination. With the blinds up to 65K/130K ante 13K orange6 would three-bet shove 888,340 chips as RonDamongo made the call with J♥Q♣. Orange6's big slick A♦K♥ would enjoy a temporary lead until a jack flopped 7♠ 8♣ J♦ 6♦ 7♥ sending orange6 home in ninth place ($4,005.20).
DannyN13 was way low on chips holding just a few BBs as the ploy to raise with 279K while holding 104K behind did not capture the blinds. It would however capture the attention of *$lim* shoving enough to put DannyN13 all-in. DannyN13 looked to escape after flopping a nine with 9♣Q♠. But, the 9♦ 4♦ 2♦ 6♠ 3♦ board spilled out too many diamonds in favor of *$lim*'s T♦A♣ to catch up as DannyN13 earned $6,832.40 in eighth place.
Leaping forward nearly twenty minutes as the blinds shot up to 100K/200K ante 20K. AnyTw0_Card$'s domination with constant shoving and holding over half the chips in play made life miserable for the remainder of the table. Callmemanu even remarked "must be nice".
Vlad0KK and Sne1231 both tried their luck preflop against the giant stack and got sent away with less than first place money for their troubles.
First, Vlad0KK went all-in with T♠A♦ as AnyTw0_Card$ turned up 9♥K♣. One nine later Q♣ 3♣ 9♣ 2♥ 8♦ and Vlad0KK collected $11,544.40 in seventh place. Seven hands later Sne1231 tried to sneak past the chip leader with a shove for 1.57 million. But, AnyTw0_Card$ would call with 4♠A♦ facing up to Sne1231's better kicker A♣7♥. The steamroller did not waver as three small cards binked a wheel 2♥ 5♣ 8♠ T♥ 3♦ sending Sne1231 $16,256.40 for sixth place.
After this point any reporting of a double elimination would need to include AnyTw0_Card$ right?
Not this time.
Six hands later with the blinds holding at 100K/200K ante 20K callmemanu shoved for 770K, RonDamongo joined in for 1.1 million, and Farley2008 covered and called with Q♣T♣. Two live clubs facing RonDamongo's J♠K♥ and callmemanu's K♣9♦. The clubs matched up nicely with the three sitting on the 8♣ 3♣ 7♠ J♣ 7♦ board eliminating callmemanu in fifth place ($20,968.40) and RonDamongo in fourth ($27,565.20).
On the next hand, *$lim* tried to stay relevant by doubling up at AnyTw0_Card$'s expense. That temporary uptick lasted six hands as the relentless AnyTw0_Card$ kindly asked for those chips back. Still not out of the 100K/200K ante 20K blind level AnyTw0_Card$ shoved from the big blind after *$lim* completed in the small blind. Holding 7♥A♠ *$lim* made the call, racing against AnyTw0_Card$'s pocket fours 4♣4♥. No need to catch a set as the pair cleared the K♣ 6♣ J♠ 9♠ 3♦ board giving *$lim* a hefty $40,052.00 payday in third place.
Farley2008 was not about to lay down, winning four of the first five hands of heads-up play. But, that would be the only positive swing as AnyTw0_Card$'s lead was too much to bear. Just nine minutes into heads-up play with AnyTw0_Card$ leading 17.6 million to 5.8 million, Farley2008 shoved over a min-raise only to see AnyTw0_Card$ ready to call with a big hand A♣Q♦. Farley2008's 2♠A♠ would flop two pair but so did AnyTw0_Card$ A♦ 2♦ Q♣ 7♥ 9♣. AnyTw0_Card$ blitzed this final table in under an hour and claimed the $74,449.64 prize for winning this week's Sunday Warm-Up title!
