Sunday Warm-Up: planty07/08 wins plenty after three-way chop

Having to pull out cash from the ATM at a casino is a walk of shame for many players (I will admit to doing this to everyone except my wife). Losing a buy-in happens but that little brown box offers a chance to reload and win back those lost coins. While players in the $425K guarantee Sunday Warm-Up only get one bullet to take away this Sunday Major title, our champ this week, planty07/08, did not need an ATM receipt to overcome Dirty Timm heads-up for the win. Dirty Timm's massive stack at the time of the three-way chop earned the largest share of the prize pool ($81,033.42) but planty07/08's determination near defeat earned the win and $75,195.58.

With two tables remaining and after back-to-back eliminations, Hoegh93 should be considering a new favorite starting hand. After calling a shortstack shove by migiDoSantos with pocket tens, Hoegh93 watched a third ten land on the turn to overtake migiDoSantos' aces to reduce the field to 16 players.

Two hands later with blinds up to 30K/60K ante 6K levinhostar would raise to 160,500 as Hoegh93 wasted no time shoving for 2.6 million. Levinhostar made the call with pocket jacks as Hoegh93 once again was behind with pocket tens. No waiting this time as a ten was laid out in the middle of the flop and held to boost Hoegh93 into the chiplead at the ninth hourly break.

Hoegh93 will be looking for a better result than bringing the chiplead into Event #31 of the 2015 WCOOP final table and finishing eighth for $30K.

The chipleader's five million chip stack would get spread out over the first half hour back from the break. A little went to Dirty Timm, but most of it went to FellipeD after Hoegh93 tried to power through a blind versus blind steal and was caught with a suited seven-five. Hoegh93 would regain a little bit after taking out a shortstacked Benfica10 (13th place - $2,853.00).

As the remaining players dwindled to the final table bubble with the blinds up to 80K/160K ante 16K sonajero was left with just over four BBs and open-shoved from the small blind as tdr01 made the call with J♥K♦. Sonajero's K♣2♣ was not as free as hoped and despite a rivered deuce, the flopped jack J♠ A♦ T♣ 7♣ 2♥ caused the tiny stack's demise and opened up the final table below:

Seat 1: Dirty Timm (5480600 in chips)
Seat 2: carryhero (2074964 in chips)
Seat 3: boiereasa777 (1718941 in chips)
Seat 4: Hoegh93 (3408998 in chips)
Seat 5: tdr01 (3636878 in chips)
Seat 6: planty07/08 (6212334 in chips)
Seat 7: plspaythxbye (3719991 in chips)
Seat 8: Curioso24 (3287737 in chips)
Seat 9: barnaby10921 (2159557 in chips)

Planty07/08 would come in as the final table chip leader and let everyone know it after taking down the first four pots uncontested.

Three minutes later boiereasa777 would open for a three times the BB raise as barnaby10921 shoved over the top for a little more than two million. Holding a small ace 2♠A♥ boiereasa777 made the call all-in looking upwards at barnaby10921's big slick A♣K♠. Two kings on the flop 8♠ K♦ K♥ 5♥ A♠ sealed ninth place and $5,072.00 for boiereasa777.

Shortly after the tenth hourly break with the blinds up to 100K/200K ante 20K carryhero would shove 1.1 million as planty07/08 made the call in middle position with pocket nines 9♣9♥. Carryhero's A♣3♠ found a pair on the flop 5♥ 3♥ 5♦ 4♠ J♠ and not much else, claiming eighth place ($7,925.00).

At this point it seemed like a two player race between planty07/08 and Dirty Timm who quietly acquired the chip lead. And after Hoegh93's (seventh place - $14,265.00) shortstack slid over to tdr01, Dirty Timm would reclaim the chip lead in a big way.

Two hands after Hoegh93's leave with the blinds moving up to 125K/250K ante 25K plspaythxbye shoved for 2.07 million, and barnaby10921 also moved in for 4.65 million. Dirty Timm had no issue covering everyone and re-shoving with pocket aces A♣A♠. Plspaythxbye's 4♥A♥ would turn a pair and barnaby10921's pocket tens T♦T♣ flopped an open-ender, but neither could seal the deal J♠ Q♥ 9♦ 4♣ 5♣ shipping a massive 11.7 million chip pot and furthering Dirty Timm's chiplead. Due to chip count at the start of the hand, barnaby10921 earned $26,945.00 for fifth place and plspaythxbye took away $20,605.00 in sixth.

After the explosive three-way all-in the foursome would settle down with a few big pots but no one was asked to leave. Then with the blinds up to 150K/300K ante 30K Curioso24 would shove 5.8 million chips from the button as Dirty Timm re-shoved for 11.3 million. Tdr01 flashed A♣T♥ but declined to jump into the fray.

Good move.

Dirty Timm showed Q♠A♦ racing against Curioso24's pocket sixes 6♣6♠. The race ended with a queen in the door Q♣ J♦ J♣ 9♥ 3♠ as Curioso24 walked away with $36,455.00 in fourth place.

With the guidance of Team PokerStars Online's Celeste "LadyMaCe86" Orona It would only take one hand and ten minutes of haggling for the final three to reach the mutually beneficial agreement below, leaving $8K for the weekly champ.

Dirty Timm: $81,033.42
tdr01: $69,792.00
planty07/08: $67,195.58

Naming the weekly champion would unfold quickly after the puffed up prize pool was split up.

On the fifth hand after the chop, Dirty Timm completed the small blind as tdr01 riled up the chipleader with a raise to 900K. The poke worked a little too well as Dirty Timm shoved and tdr01 called holding A♥6♥. Not the result tdr01 was hoping for as Dirty Timm woke up with a real hand A♠Q♠ and the 8♦ J♦ J♣ 5♣ 3♣ board sent tdr01 away in third place ($69,792.00).

Heads-up should not have taken long as Dirty Timm strolled in with a 25.6 million to six million chip lead but planty07/08 let it be known that conceding was not a choice doubling up on the seventh hand.

After giving up the double, Dirty Timm won just two out of 14 hands leading up to this one as planty07/08 amassed a 27.2 million to 4.4 million chiplead with pure aggression. With the blinds up to 200K/400K ante 40K planty07/08 raised to 880K as Dirty Timm took a shot with 7♦Q♦. Holding pocket tens T♦T♥, planty07/08 easily made the call and safely navigated the A♦ 5♥ 9♥ 2♠ 4♦ board to take down this week's Sunday Warm-Up title and earn $75,195.58!
