MicroMillions: -zeppooo- wins Event #60 ($1+R PL Omaha 2x-Turbo)

micromillions-thumb-blog.pngTurning a $1 investment into a little more than $4,000 is a nice return on an investment. Chances are -zeppooo- put a little more than just $1 in on his way to winning Event 60 but we are sure that he is still happy with turning whatever amount it was into $4,000-plus.

With a structure that was two times that of a normal turbo Event 60, a $1+R Pot Limit Omaha 6-max 2x-Turbo event, moved along quickly on the way to crowning its champion. Here is a look at the numbers:

Entrants: 7,632
Guarantee: $10,000.00
Re-buys: 28,436
Add-ons: 3,369
Prize pool: $35,887.67
Paid Players: 960

As stated earlier the action was quick, the final table got underway with only two players above the 20 big blind mark and two well under the 10 big blind mark.

Seat 1: skugi23 (9,542,056 in chips)
Seat 2: notsugar (5,960,782 in chips)
Seat 3: Svetik707 (29,309,269 in chips)
Seat 4: padjes (2,696,342 in chips)
Seat 5: dengladelaks (13,045,488 in chips)
Seat 6: -zeppooo- (28,427,063 in chips)

Quick couple of eliminations:

The first player to take their exit was padjes, even though he had managed a double through dengladelaks on the first hand of the final table. The pair once again clashed when dengladelaks moved all-in over the under the gun open of padjes, who eventually called off the remainder of his stack. The players cards were revealed with dengladelaks holding A♥A♣K♠7♦ against padjes' J♣T♦9♦8♠. The A♠Q♥6♦ flop brought a little extra hope for padjes but that hope did not materialize as the board finished off with the 2♥ and 6♣. For his sixth place finish padjes collects $538.31.

The very next hand provided some more fireworks as notsugar got all-in against -zeppooo-pre-flop. Holding A♥A♠8♣7♣ meant that -zeppooo- held the lead to begin the hand against notsugar's A♣J♦9♠8♠. Although notsugar was able to catch a pair of nines on the river with the board reading Q♣3♥2♣7♠9♦ it was still not enough to beat the pair of aces that -zeppooo- held. A fifth place finish meant that notsugar collects $897.19.

A deal is struck:

The players played a few hands four-handed before they decided to pause the tournament to take a look at the numbers. They opted for a chip-chop leaving $200.00 for the eventual winner. After getting the following numbers from the host the players agreed and play resumed.

  • -zeppooo-: $4,282.30
  • Svetik707: $3,683.76
  • dengladelaks: $2,885.38
  • skugi23: $2,411.38
  • Left To Play for place 1: $200.00

Another elimination for -zeppooo-:

An open to 3,000,000 from Svetik707 started the hand, dengladelaks then made it 11,616,830, -zeppooo- called then skugi23 and Svetik707 folded. The pair saw a J♦7♣4♣ flop, -zeppooo- opened to 13,500,000 and dengladelaks called, putting himself all-in. The players cards were revealed with dengladelaks holding A♠A♥6♣2♥ for a pair of aces while -zeppooo- held K♠Q♥J♥T♦ for a pair of jacks. The T♥ turn brought a second paid for -zeppooo- pulling him ahead in the hand. The 5♥ river meant nothing to either player besides the end for dengladelaks who takes home $2,885.38 thanks to the deal.

Then there were two:

Unlike the three previous eliminations -zeppooo- was not involved in sending skugi23 out in third. This time it was Svetik707 who got their hands dirty. It was a battle of the blinds that saw skugi23 attempt to limp into the hand. Svetik707 was having none of that and raised to 6,000,000, blinds at 1,000,000/2,000,000, which skugi23 called. After seeing a T♦3♥2♦ flop skugi23 moved all-in, Svetik707 called and the players cards were revealed. Svetik707 held A♠A♦5♥2♣ against the A♥6♣4♦4♠ held by skugi23. The 6♥ turn slightly improved skugi23's hand but it wasn't enough to take the lead. The 8♣ river gave no further assistance meaning skugi23 was out in third place collecting $2,411.38.

Heads-up play:

The pair only played three hands with Svetik707 winning the first one and -zeppooo- taking the final two. The final hand started with -zeppooo- raising to 2,000,000. Svetik707 made it 6,000,000 and -zeppooo- called. After seeing the 7♠4♣2♠ flop -zeppooo- opened to 10,000,000, Svetik707 moved all-in for 28,726,325, -zeppooo- called. Svetik707 held Q♥7♦6♦2♣ for top pair queen kicker while -zeppooo- held J♥9♣8♠7♥ for top pair jack kicker. The 9♠ turn gave -zeppooo- the lead with two pair and although the 6♠ brought a second pair for Svetik707 those two were not good enough to beat -zeppooo-'s bringing an end to the match. Svetik707 takes $3,683.76 for second while -zeppooo- collects $4,482.30 for the win.
