MicroMillions: SunTzze blazes the field in Event #1 $0.11 NLHE rebuy
If you build it they will come, and come they did for the first MicroMillions event, a $0.11 No Limit Hold'em Rebuy Madness tournament with a $25,000 guarantee.
The unlimited rebuys brought in 71,420 players, starting with 50 chips, who were allowed to rebuy as much as they wished, as long as they had less than 1,000,000 chips, for $0.10 to gain 50 additional chips. A grand total of 635,689 rebuys were made to add $63,568.90 to the prize pool and 31,784,450 chips. The add-on period brought an additional $2,717.10 and 2,717,100 chips since each $0.10 add-on gave the players 100 additional chips. With all the rebuys and add-ons the prize pool swelled to $73,428.00 with 9,072 players making the money.
It took 112 minutes to eliminate 62,348 players to get into the money, that is an average of 556.7 eliminations per minute. It took another 238 minutes to reach the final table of six.
Final Table Chip Counts:
Seat 1: giveall$4me (8594301 in chips)
Seat 2: MasterGmae (6028418 in chips)
Seat 3: jhonja35 (2623762 in chips)
Seat 4: SunTzze (12716734 in chips)
Seat 5: diamontza (5536591 in chips)
Seat 6: valera3000 (2569244 in chips)
First two all-ins and an elimination:
The first two hands of the final table featured all-in and calls, both times giveall$4me was involved. In the first hand his 8♣8♥ was unable to improve against MasterGmae's Q♥Q♠ giving MasterGmae the 13 million plus chip pot and moving him into second place. The next hand saw giveall$4me calling the all-in open of valera3000. When the cards were flipped over valera3000 was looking to catch any of the remaining eights in the deck with their A♦8♣ being dominated by giveall$4me's A♣K♥. When the board ran out T♦4♣3♦5♣Q♣ valera3000 was eliminated collecting $420.00 for their work.
With the average stack having less than 20 big blinds the eliminations continued to come quickly. Jhonja35 exited the tourney next at the hands of SunTzze. The hand began when jhonja35 called from under the gun, he was followed by SunTzze who also called. Action folded to MasterGmae in the big blind who checked. The three players saw a K♦K♥3♠ flop, all three checked and then saw a 9♣ turn. MasterGmae once again checked which induced an all-in jam from jhonja35. SunTzze quickly called and MasterGmae bowed out. SunTzze showed K♠Q♦ for the flopped trips which dominated jhonja35's 8♣8♦. The 3♣ river delivered no further assistance to jhonja34 sending them out the door collecting $657.91.
The next hand saw giveall$4me getting back into the all-in action, this time however he was the one at risk of being eliminated when he moved all-in from the button and got called by SunTzze. SunTzze's K♥T♦ was ahead of giveall$4me's K♦4♦. Giveall$4me was unable to catch a four eliminating him in fourth place collecting $1,146.94.
And then there were three, and a deal gets struck:
After playing 26 hands that included a couple all-in and calls but saw no eliminations the three players agreed to discuss a deal. The initial deal was turned down but after a short discussion the three players came to an agreement and play resumed.
Two hands after play resumed diamontza found himself all-in against MasterGmae. diamontza's A♠Q♣ was able to hold off MasterGmae's K♠8♣ giving him a double to move him less than one big blind shy of the chip lead.
Getting to heads-up:
After doubling diamontza up MasterGmae became the short-stack. Sitting in the small blind and having the action fold to him MasterGmae moved all-in which got a call from SunTzze. MasterGmae's 5♠2♦ was no match for the A♥T♦ of SunTzze eliminating him in third place collecting $3,395.63.
At the start of heads-up play diamontza only held 8 big blinds, while SunTzze had well over 50. This resulted in a heads-up match that lasted only four hands, even though diamontza did manage to get one double up. The final hand started with diamontza moving all-in with J♥2♦, he was called by SunTzze who held 8♠7♣. The K♣T♦8♦ flop delivered a pair for SunTzze and the 8♣ turn sealed the deal. Diamontza collects $2,929.46 for his second place finish while SunTzze collects $3,800.55 for the win.
Congrats SunTzze for winning the first event of the inaugural MicroMillion series.
