MicroMillions II: MicroMillions mania starts today

micromillions-thumb-blog.pngSet your phasers to fun, the MicroMillions has returned. Following up the roaring success of the inaugural MicroMillions series back in March, PokerStars is putting on another 100 event series bringing a fantastic festival of online poker to the micro stakes player with big prizes up for grabs. There are rebuys, six-max, 8-game, Omaha, turbos... you name it, they're in there and Event #1 is almost upon us.

With little more than two hours until kick-off more than 36,000 players are already registered for our curtain-raiser, a $0.11 No-Limit Hold'em rebuy (starting at 08.30 ET with 90 minutes of late registration). If you're looking to spin up one-shot then you'll find some space in the structure but with unlimited rebuys for the first hour-and-a-half you can chip yourself up to a few thousand big blinds for just a couple of bucks. You may need them should you make it through to level 98 where you'll find yourself facing blinds of 250,000,000/500,000,000.

While the tournament is no doubt a lot of fun let's not forget that last year's winner, SunTzze, won $3,800.55 after a three-way chop beating 71,420 players to the title. That's no small chunk of change for a $0.11 buy-in.

Reigning MicroMillions champ and Team PokerStars Pro Marcin Horecki

Not only does playing give you a shot at a hefty spin-up it's also your first chance to get yourself onto the MicroMillions II Leader Board. If you finish on top of that at end of the series you, like Team PokerStars Pro Marcin 'Goral' Horecki who topped the MicroMillions I Leader Board, will take home a 2013 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure main event package ($10,000 buy-in to the main event plus flights and hotel). The remaining top ten players bag a WCOOP $1,050 ticket and a place in the top 50 pockets you a $215 WCOOP ticket. For more info click on this MicroMillions II Player of the Series link or you can click through direct to the MicroMillions II Leader Board here.

Event #1's rebuy madness will be quickly followed by a $1 rebuy and a $3.30 six-max as the tournament schedule opens up for 11 days of round-the-clock action. Look at the full schedule by logging into the PokerStars lobby and clicking on Events>MicroMillions>Main Events tabs or by clicking on this MicroMillions II schedule link. The PokerStars Blog will be providing final table reports of each and every event which you'll be able to find by clicking on the MicroMillions II link on the widget on the right of this page - or by clicking on this MicroMillions II link right here.

The cherry on top of the MicroMillions pie is the $22 main event, which has a guaranteed $1,000,000 prize pool and will see the winner take home a minimum of $150,000 for first place. Suddenly things don't seem so micro after all.
