MicroMillions II: tron1ft8 wins Event #29 ($1+R NLHE, 3x-Turbo)

micromillions-thumb-blog.pngRe-buy on table 12.........Re-buy on table 284.........Re-buy on table..........

If this were a live tournament it would be hard to focus with the amount of re-buys that occurred during the first 90 minutes of play. Needing only $0.91 to get 3,000 more chips if you just lost all of yours meant the players were ready to gamble, and gamble they did.

That gamble paid off for tron1ft8 who turned the re-buys into $13,000 in just under seven hours.

*************************************************

The 20,968 players that entered the MicroMillions II Event No. 29 came together to generate a $129,884.30 prize pool, thanks mainly to 110,503 re-buys. With the $75,000 guarantee surpassed 2,700 players would collect $10.39 at a minimum with a chance at taking home $13,003.26. Here is a look at the numbers:

Entrants: 20,968
Guarantee: $75,000
Re-buys: 110,503

André "acroimbra" Croimbra was the lone Team Online member to collect a cash with a 2,095th place finish for $12.98. This was Croimbra's fifth cash of the series as he continues his 100-event challenge.

On the way to the final table Mitramm had a nice hot streak going above 200 million in chips at one point. The closest opponents to Mitramm were Fillipsss and Nice2GrindeU who both has just 100 million, just over half that of Mitramm.

One hand, first elimination:

The first hand of final table play saw the first elimination. With the shortest stack on the table rusik_vozhak moved all-in from middle position. It was oldmo1 who called and everyone else got out of the way. oldmo1 held 8♥8♦ against rusik_vozhak's Q♦T♣. The 6♠2♣2♦9♠6♥ board was a safe one for oldmo1 eliminating rusik_vozhak in ninth place collecting $779.30.

The devils number:

While the first elimination was an easy one with the player starting the hand with the lead holding it through the river that wasn't the case for the next elimination. It appeared that Fillipsss did not want a call pre-flop with an open to 40,000,000, 10-times the big blind. The small blind took some time deciding wether to play the hand or not but eventually folded, while Spooky_M@n wasted no time calling off their entire stack going all-in. Spooky_M@n showed K♠K♦ and Fillipsss showed 6♣6♠. The 9♠6♦2♦ flop was a bleak one for Spooky_M@n giving Fillipsss a set of sixes leaving Spooky_M@n needing to catch on of the remaining kings to survive. That king did not come in the 8♥ turn or 3♠ river sending Spooky_M@n out in eighth place collecting $1,168.95.

oldmo1 gets another:

In a battle of the blinds oldmo1 opened for a min-raise to 11,000,000, Lee-C Da Kid moved all-in for 20,089,760 total, oldmo1 called. Lee-C Da Kid's K♥T♦ looked good after the K♠T♣4♦ flop with two pair but oldmo1 picked up an inside straight draw. The J♥ turn delivered that straight to oldmo1 and the 3♥ river meant the end for Lee-C Da Kid who collects $1,948.26 for seventh place.

Bigs vs Small:

The two big stacks joined forces to take on the short stack in the next elimination that almost saw a double elimination. Nice2GrindeU moved all-in from under-the-gun. Mitramm called from the button as did Fillipsss from the big blind. The players saw a 5♦5♥3♦ flop. Mitramm moved all-in after Fillipsss checked. Fillipsss, who started the hand with just under 400 million called putting Mitramm at risk. The three players cards were revealed with Nice2GrindeU holding A♦7♥, Fillipsss holding A♥9♦, and Mitramm holding the lead with 6♦6♣. That lead would hold through the river with a 2♦ turn and 5♠ river bringing no assistance to Nice2GindeU or Fillipsss. Nice2GindeU goes out in sixth place collecting $3,247.10.

Another river:

With less than ten big blinds Lassie119 moved all-in from late position. Fillipsss called from the big blind and the players cards were revealed with Fillipsss holding K♥J♣ against Lassie119's A♦K♠. The K♣Q♦4♣ flop gave each player a pair of kings but Lassie119 stayed in the lead thanks to the ace kicker. The 9♦ turn gave Fillipsss an inside straight draw. The T♣ river delivered that straight sending Lassie119 out in fifth place collecting $4,545.95.

Fillipsss gets one:

After losing a big hand to tronf1ft8, Fillipsss was down to under 10 big blinds and moved all-in from under-the-gun. Action folded to oldmo1 who called the all-in going all-in himself. Fillipsss held A♠T♠ while oldmo1 had Q♠2♦. The A♣Q♥T♥ flop helped both players but it was Filipsss who continued to hold the lead with two pair. The 8♥ turn meant nothing for either player while the T♣ river gave Fillipsss an unneeded full house sending oldmo1 out in fourth place collecting $5,844.79.

Down to two:

After picking up a few more chips in the latest elimination Fillipsss was still short and continued to move all-in. It was torn1ft8 who eventually called one of those all-ins. Fillipsss held A♦6♣ against tron1ft8's 9♥9♠. The J♦8♣5♠7♦Q♦ board was safe for tron1ft8 sending Fillipsss out in third place collecting $7,793.05.

Heads-UP

The players decided to take a look at the numbers after a short discussion where tron1ft8 requested $123 more than the original chip chop numbers and Mitramm agreed the numbers looked like this:

tron1ft8:$11,390.16
Mitramm:$10,485.66
Left To Play for: $1,500.00

Here's how the players sat after the deal:

Seat 2: Mitramm (158,713,129 in chips)
Seat 7: tron1ft8 (573,469,871 in chips)

That lead was too much for Mitramm to overcome as tron1ft8 kept the pressure on eventually getting Mitramm all-in. Mitramm held K♣9♦ against tron1ft8's Q♠T♠. The flop was all that tron1ft8 needed as the Q♦Q♥T♣ left Mitramm drawing dead to a full house. Mitramm collected $10,485.66 thanks to the above deal while tron1ft8 collected the additional $1,500 to take $12,890.16 for the win.
