MicroMillions III madness starts tomorrow, $5m guaranteed
The MicroMillions III series begins tomorrow with $5,000,000 in guaranteed prize pools (which will no doubt be a lot, lot more when all's said and done). This is the must play series for any low-stakes grinder, have-a-go hero or big field crusher. PokerStars has always prided itself on being the poker site for poker players and the MicroMillions proves it. Top quality tournaments for micro-sized buy-ins that can turn into high stake rolls overnight.
How does a return on investment of 714,531% sound to you? SoyDelGlobo turned one $22 buy-in into $157,218.68 by winning the MicroMillions II Main Event in July but certainly wasn't the only player to win big from a small outlay. cokars picked up $130,711.75 for the runner-up spot in the main event while another juicy prize pool paid out jeffezaa $33,513.29 in Event #97... for a $11 buy-in.
The $1,000,000 Main Event
The one to save your run good for is undoubtedly the $22 NL Hold 'em $1,000,000 guaranteed Main Event which takes place on the last day of the series (25 November, Event #98). Not only does it sport a minimum $150,000 payout for first place but this is a proper test of your poker talent. You start with a 10,000 stack and with the blinds clocking in at 10-20 that gives you an enormous 500 big blinds for the first 10-minute level. If you want a challenge, this is it. This could be the event that wins you your big bankroll.
Round the clock action, round the clock reporting
There are 100 events running round the clock from 15-25 November with all schools and forms of poker represented; shootouts, six-max, heads-up, Hold 'em, Omaha, Stud, Razz, Triple Draw and more.
The PokerStars Blog will be covering every single final table. Yes, all 100 MicroMillions tournaments will be blogged about with the suck outs and sick reads painted in loving detail here in the MicroMillions section of the Blog. We'll also be publishing a wrap of each day's action which we'll be tweeting a link to on the @PokerStarsBlog Twitter account using the #MicroMillions hashtag. Like action? Love the MicroMillions!
Event 1 of the MicroMillions is fun. It's a simple statement but try to argue that it's not. A 11c unlimited re-buy event where the eventual MMII winner of the event, cittadipace, ended the event with 1,821,450,000 chips. Yes, that is a chip stack weighing in close to two billion deep. The $7,332.37 pay out is more than impressive for a potential $0.11 buy-in.
You can find all the MicroMillions events by clicking on the 'Events' >> 'MicroMillions' tabs in the PokerStars lobby. Click through for a full schedule of events or to see details about the the MicroMillions III leader board where a $16,000 PCA package sits up top. Prizes are for the top 100 players of the series.
