MicroMillions 7: Cassiopak crushes Event #67 ($1+R NLHE 3x-Turbo)
Cassiopak was in second place on the leaderboard going into the final table, but MaRaT656 had a tough time keeping the lead. When cassiopak began to chip up significantly, there seemed to be no stopping the great run. Cassiopak then disposed of the former chip leader in third place, took a massive lead into heads-up, and completed the task in just a few hands.
Some of the most fun that players can have is with rebuy tournaments in the MicroMillions series. Players with any type of bankroll can get in on the satellites for a $1 buy-in tournament, and those with a little extra can participate in rebuys and add-ons when the event begins. Event 67 was just that kind of online poker tournament and drew a massive crowd for the $1+R NLHE action. With a $75K guarantee and a 3x-turbo structure, the action was undeniable.
Total prize pool: $114,437.05
Paid players: 2,475
After the five-hour mark of the event, four tables were reduced to three, and action heated up with payouts increasing quite substantially. Hand-for-hand play began with only 10 players left about 45 minutes later, and it took only a few minutes for sektor025 to move all-in with K♦2♠ from the small blind and run into gamblr84 and T♣9♣ in the big blind. The board of 5♦9♦J♣T♦3♠ ended the tournament for sektor025, who took home $429.13 for tenth place.
MaRaT656 moves ahead with chip lead
The final table began at the beginning of Level 62, with blinds at 2M/4M and a 400K ante. The players and their corresponding chip counts were as follows:
Seat 1: cassiopak (93,178,852 in chips)
Seat 2: drejrp0ker (39,192,444 in chips)
Seat 3: gamblr84 (75,715,973 in chips)
Seat 4: matteus638 (52,188,213 in chips)
Seat 5: lorenzo6666 (53,634,216 in chips)
Seat 6: ROBB J.R (18,704,392 in chips)
Seat 7: biapokerkid (65,836,329 in chips)
Seat 8: MaRaT656 (163,698,712 in chips)
Seat 9: M&I99vsAA (90,110,869 in chips)
It didn't take long for lorenzo6666 to lose ground and then push all-in with A♦T♠ from the small blind. Original raiser drejrp0ker called with A♥8♥ but rivered a flush on the 9♥5♠7♥Q♣4♥ board. That left lorenzo6666 out in ninth place with $686.62.
ROBB J.R. was the next player at risk, moving all-in with A♣9♦. Cassiopak called from the small blind with T♠4♠ and didn't look good with the Q♥7♠5♣ flop. Bu the 4♣ hit for cassiopak, and the 5♦ on the river officially eliminated ROBB J.R. in eighth place with $1,029.93.
Matteus638 looked down at A♥K♦ and moved all-in from the small blind after a raise from M&I99vsAA. With A♦6♦, M&I99vsAA called but improved drastically as the board developed into 6♥T♦8♦8♠6♠ for a full house. Matteus638 was out in seventh place with $1,716.55.
Biapokerkid was looking to gather chips and got involved from the big blind with M&I99vsAA. The raised flop of 5♦J♦T♦ brought a bet from M&I99vsAA and check-call from biapokerkid. The K♦ turn saw another bet from M&I99vsAA, and biapokerkid check-called all-in with Q♥8♣ for the straight draw. M&I99vsAA showed K♣Q♦ for top pair, and though both players made the flush with the 7♦ river, biapokerkid couldn't beat the queen kicker in the flush. That eliminated biapokerkid in sixth place with $2,860.92.
Just a few hands later, gamblr84 got involved with MaRaT656 to see a raised flop of 9♠K♠7♦. Gamblr84 bet, and MaRaT656 called. The 5♠ on the turn brought another bet from gamblr84, but MaRaT656 raised all-in. Gamblr84 called all-in with 7♥7♣ and the set of sevens, but MaRaT656 had K♣K♦ and top set. The 9♦ on the river gave them each a full house but sent gamblr84 out with the worst of the two. Gamblr84 took home $4,005.29 for the fifth place finish.
Then cassiopak took over, starting with this double through MaRaT656:
MaRaT656 did double back through cassiopak to stay in action, and drejrp0ker doubled through cassiopak as well. Even so, cassiopak remained quite a bit in front of the others during four-handed play.
When M&I99vsAA decided to move all-in with A♠Q♦, original raiser cassiopak called with K♠T♠ but caught two more kings on the 2♦K♥7♠K♣J♣ board. That left M&I99vsAA out in fourth place with $5,149.66.
MaRaT656 sought another double through cassiopak, but it didn't exactly work out as planned:
MaRaT656 tried it again a few hands later, pushing all-in with A♠4♣ against the A♦5♦ of cassiopak. The kicker played on the 2♣T♥J♦K♣3♣ board to eliminate MaRaT656 in third place with $7,438.40.
Cassiopak cuts it short
The final two players started their duel with these counts:
Seat 1: cassiopak (606,706,678 in chips)
Seat 2: drejrp0ker (45,553,322 in chips)
It only took three hands for drejrp0ker to move all-in with 8♥5♠. Cassiopak called with 8♦2♦ but hit the straight draw on the 4♠3♠5♥ flop. Drejrp0ker was ahead with top pair, and the 9♦ on the turn changed nothing, but the A♠ on the river made the straight for cassiopak. Drejrp0ker accepted second place and the $9,727.14 that went with it.
Cassiopak of Brazil won the MicroMillions title and $12,357.12 in cash. Congrats!
