MicroMillions 7: omjke dominates to win Event #64 ($3.30 NL Hold'em)

The end is in sight for MicroMillions 7 with just a few more chances for players to grab a big payout for a small buy-in. Event #64 presented them with a $15,000 guaranteed prizepool for just $3.30 and players came out in big numbers.

The No Limit Hold'em tournament drew 9,956 grinders which was just a few shy of doubling the guarantee, the prizepool topped out at $29,868 with $4,399 up top for the winner. The top 1,260 would earn a piece of the pie and the top 15 all earning at least a triple-digit payday.

The structure gave players a ton of room to make moves and show their skills. The tournament ran nearly 10 hours from start to finish and grinders at the end earned their money. Hand-for-hand action played out for nearly 20 minutes until ZZD86 was dropped in 10th place.

omjke didn't come into the final table with the chiplead, but you never would have known that with the chippiness in the chat box. m0uiz was the actual chipleader and most of the stacks being relatively equal. The extended bubble time had a small impact on the stacks but most were healthy looking for the title.

braindeador out the door, eliminated in 9th

While no one began the final table with a stack in the danger zone, things went south in a hurry for braindeador. The German lost 75% of his stack in the first few hands and was left with just over one million in front with the big blind clicking up to 300k.

Those chips went in the middle from UTG+1 and the rest of his opponents hit the fold button until it reached m0uiz in the big blind, who called the bet. braindeador was holding two live cards but looking for help.

braindeador: Q♦8♦
m0uiz: K♣2♦

The flop came out diamond-free with 7♣3♠3♥ leaving braindeador needing to pair to stay alive. The 4♥ turn changed nothing and braindeador was the first eliminated on the final table on the 9♦ river to collect $231.

tha-she flips out, eliminated in 8th

tha-she was near the top of the leaderboard as the players were getting close to the final table, often trading bards with chipleader omjke, and showed a volatile playing style. That caught up in the end and tha-she was next on the short stack list.

tha-she had several big hands during short-handed play earlier and found another in the small blind. ichikegi min-raised under the gun and action folded around to tha-she in the small blind. tha-she moved all-in for just 2,287,711 with A♦K♦ and was quickly called by ichikegi with Q♣Q♠. The classic coinflip.

tha-she missed the J♦J♣9♣ but picked up an unlikely backdoor flush draw, that disappeared on the 7♥ turn, and the river 4♥ locked up the hand for ichikegi. tha-she was up and down over the last few tables but did well to reach 8th place for $328.

MySTiKtr misses, eliminated in 7th

Even with the relatively deep stacks, the third player was sent out of the tournament after just a few orbits of the final table. omjke had a stack jumping all over the place but began taking control with his first knockout.

omjke began that hand with a raise from early position before MySTiKtr shoved for 1,723,830 from the small blind. The all-in was less than a min-raise and was quickly called by omjke with J♦7♦ up against A♦T♦. MySTiKtr was in line for a double but fell behind after the J♣5♠4♥ flop. That left MySTiKtr looking for an Ace or running miracle cards but the J♥ left the German drawing dead to the meaningless 5♣ river.

vaggelis99 gets rocked, eliminated in 6th

It can be tough to dodge players on a hot streak and vaggelis99 ran smack into omjke in the middle of one. omjke open for a min-raise from the button and vaggelis99 responded with a shove for 2,821,459 from the small blind. omjke did not take long to consider and called holding Q♠9♥ looking to crack A♥A♦.

The flop was a perfectly innocent 7♦5♠3♣ but the first problem appeared on the 9♣ turn. The runner-runner bad beat was complete on the Q♦ river to eliminated vaggelis99 in 6th place while omjke moved into the chiplead.

ichikegi turned down, eliminated in 5th

If one bad beat was good enough for omjke, two would do even better. Four of the five remaining players attempted to get omjke to make a deal but he was having none of that talk. He kept apologizing but was unmoved by the requests.

While the chatter was going on, he opened in early position to 1,500,000 before ichikegi shoved from the small blind for 4,538,020. omjke called with a hand which was once again in trouble, A♦5♦ versus A♥K♠, but didn't get any help on the J♣8♥3♠ flop.

Not waiting until the river this time, omjke hit on the 5♠ turn and ichikegi was unable to find a King on the 6♣ river to go out in 5th place for $1,194.

BIG BEN 3222 against Big Slick, eliminated in 4th

The elimination of ichikegi didn't stop the other players from trying to convince omjke to deal but he kept saying no followed before taking out another. Unlike the previous two eliminations, omjke didn't come from far behind but did wait until late.

BIG BEN 3222 min-raised from the small blind and omjke instantly shoved in the big blind. BIG BEN 3222 called the bet and the two were in a virtual dead heat to win the hand. omjke needed help for another knockout with A♦K♦ versus 8♠8♣ but missed completely missed the 7♣5♠4♥ flop before popping on the A♥ turn.

BIG BEN 3222 was stuck looking for a set or gutshot on the river but it came K♣ to send the fellow Russian out in 4th place for $1,493.

1st.Miranka isn't first, eliminated in 3rd

Play lasted longer than expected after reaching three-handed play even with omjke holding more than 50% of the chips in play most of the time. 1st.Miranka and m0uiz were able to take little bites out of omjke's lead but it never lasted long.

1st.Miranka was the next to take a shot at his stack and flopped well for a chance to double. 1st.Miranka open-shoved with J♣T♣ and omjke called with A♣5♣, giving omjke the early lead until the K♦J♠5♦ flop. omjke's previous knockouts waited until after the flop and needed it again. The 7♥ was harmless but the comeback was complete on the A♠ river to send 1st.Miranka out of the tournament in 3rd place for $2,240.

omjke rides momentum to win Event #64

Seat 5: m0uiz (7,869,989 in chips)
Seat 8: omjke (41,910,011 in chips)

omjke began heads-up play with a better than 5-to-1 chiplead picking up those up by picking off the final six players in the tournament, most with interesting outcomes courtesy of the random number generator. m0uiz would need to go on an incredible run to get back into the tournament.

Unfortunately, it only lasted four more hands. None of those hands saw a flop until m0uiz moved all-in with K♦3♥ but was in a lot of trouble when omjke called with K♣T♥. Unlike a lot of the previous hands, there was no bad beat or magic draw to settle the action. The flop was an innocent J♦8♣2♠ before the tournament ended with the T♣ to leave m0uiz drawing dead for a runner-up finish in $3,210.

omjke ran roughshod over the final table, and rarely stopped putting in his two bits in the chat window, to produce a dominant win in Event #64 for $4,399.
