MicroMillions 7: Wire-to-wire win for alexxxandr83 in Event #56 ($5.50 NL Draw)

It's tough to take a chip lead all the way to the winner's circle, but alexxxandr83 did just that in Event 56. The biggest challenge to that lead was during heads-up play, as @llin online wasn't giving up easily. But alexxxandr83 stayed strong, aggressive, and claimed victory in the end.

As the seventh running of MicroMillions hits the second half of the schedule, draw poker fans had their day. Event 56 offered a $5.50 buy-in No Limit Draw tournament with a $5K guarantee.

While some call the game an outdated one, many new fans have tried to revive the game, finding a fondness for it while playing mixed games. And a solid turnout for Event 56 showed that draw games still have a place in every tournament series.

Into the sixth hour of play, only two tables remained, and play slowed somewhat as only the top two spots could pick up four-figure payouts.

Just before the seven-hour break, hand-for-hand play got underway with the eighth place elimination of lamie93. More than 15 minutes later, it was iektjes at risk against imaginelsd. Iektjes took two cards to gather 4♦A♣3♠4♠8♠, but imaginelsd grabbed three cards and ended up with quads: J♣J♠J♥A♠J♦. Iektjes departed in seventh place with $149.66.

Alexxxandr83 starts strong

Seat 2: RERERAISERRR (658,535 in chips)
Seat 3: alexxxandr83 (3,873,359 in chips)

Dennnisko was short but doubled through @llin online only a few hands into the action.

RERERAISERRR lost ground over the course of the first couple of hands and moved all-in for little more than 50K chips from the big blind. Original UTG raiser alexxxandr83 called, took one card, and showed 6♦K♥K♣A♠K♦. RERERAISERRR discarded four and turned over 9♦4♥T♠A♣8♣ before exiting in sixth place with $225.55.

Just a few hands later, deli0ESEK raised UTG, and Dennnisko reraised all-in from the big blind. Deli0ESEK called, took one card, and showed Q♥K♠A♠A♣Q♠. Those two pair bested the 4♠J♠3♦J♣4♥ of Dennnisko, who accepted $400.87 for the fifth place finish.

Imaginelsd did some chipping up and then doubled through @llin online. That put deli0ESEK on the short stack, and the all-in move came soon. Alexxxandr83 was the challenger, and each player took three cards. Deli0ESEK had 9♣K♦Q♥3♦K♥, but alexxxandr83 had the pair of aces with 7♦A♣A♦Q♠J♠. That eliminated deli0ESEK in fourth place with $614.67.

@llin online took a pot worth 2,925,000 chips from imaginelsd, and the latter moved all-in just a few hands later amidst a raising war with alexxxandr83. Imaginelsd took one card and showed T♣8♣T♦6♣8♦, but alexxxandr83 took three and wound up with A♥A♦2♦7♦7♣. Imaginelsd was out in third place with $935.37.

Alexxxandr83 maintains lead

The final two players took to heads-up play with these starting stacks:

Seat 3: alexxxandr83 (6,515,620 in chips)
Seat 4: @llin online (4,174,380 in chips)

But @llin online quickly evened the stacks, and the two players paused to make a deal. They agreed to split the prize money evenly with an extra $100 set aside for the winner.

Seat 3: alexxxandr83 (5,290,620 in chips) = $1,420.55
Seat 4: @llin online (5,399,380 in chips) = $1,420.55

Alexxxandr83 took two pots upon their return to action, and a third one gave alexxxandr83 a significant chip lead. @llin online continued to push back but eventually reraised, took three cards, and moved all-in with K♦A♦Q♥6♣6♦. Alexxxandr83 also took three cards and called with 4♣8♦J♠6♥J♦. That sent @llin online out in second place with $1,420.55.

Alexxxandr83 took the title and $1,520.55 in cash. Congrats!
