MicroMillions 8: I.Murtazin amazing come-from-behind victory in Event #94 $5.50 NL [1R, 1A]

Sometimes you can go deep into a tournament by staying out of the line of fire and letting your opponents blow themselves up. Yet, MircoMillions Event #94 was not one of those tournaments. Rather, it was an all-out, brutal fracas where you could not run, nor could you hide. When the smoke cleared the battlefield for Event #94, only Russia's I.Murtazin was left standing as the newly crowned MicroMillions champion.

MircoMillions 8 Event #94 attracted 15,150 runners. They contributed to a prize pool worth $155,555.00 with 10,872 re-buys and 5,089 add-ons. The top 2,025 places paid out with $19,454.43 set aside to the eventual champion.

PokerStars Team Pro Martin 'AABenjaminAA' Hruby took a shot at a MircoMillions title, but busted out before the money bubble burst.

The final table commenced during Level 50 with blinds at 400K/800K and a 100K ante. Germany's mischa84 held the lead with 34M, while bart0116 clung to the short stack with 9.8M.

MaciekWa-Wa eliminated in 9th place

First confrontation at the final table: big stack vs. little stack. Chipleader mischa84 min-raised to 1.6M, MaciekWa-Wa shoved for 8,188,027, and mischa84 called. MaciekWa-Wa was in trouble with A♠Q♦ against mischa84's A♣K♣. The board finished up K♦T♣8♣5♦6♦. MaciekWa-Wa flopped a Broadway gutshot, but whiffed on the turn and river. mischa84 flopped top pair, which held up. MaciekWa-Wa became the first player to exit the final table. Ninth place paid out $933.33.

bart0116 eliminated in 8th place

I.Murtazin opened with a min-raise to 2M and bart0116 called from the small blind. The flop was K♦9♦8♣. When bart0116 shoved for 7,230,830, I.Murtazin snap-called. I.Murtazin led with K♣5♣ and a pair of Kings versus bart0116's A♣7♥ and nothing but Ace-high. The turn was the T♣ and bart0116 picked up a straight draw. Alas, the river was the 3♦ and bart0116 failed to improve. I.Murtazin dragged the pot with a pair of Kings. For eighth place, Canada's bart0116 took home $1,399.99.

Ligist187 eliminated in 7th place

KaptanPacior opened to 3M, Ligist187 bombed it all-in for 6,114,112 with A♣Q♣, and KaptanPacior insta-called with K♠K♦. The board ran out J♦9♣3♠7♦3♦. Pocket Kings held up for KaptanPacior, who won the pot with two pair -- Kings and treys. Sweden's Ligist187 was knocked out in seventh place, which paid out $2,722.21.

With six remaining, mischa84 retained the lead with 44M, while JFS1986 was the shorty with 10.5M.

BabyShark14 eliminated in 6th place

Battle of the blinds: BabyShark14 in the small blind shoved for 13,375,869 with A♠5♥, but mischa84 woke up to T♦T♠ in the big blind and called. The board ran out J♣5♠3♠Q♠Q♣. BabyShark14 hit the flop with a pair of fives, but it was not good enough to win. mischa84 dragged the pot with two pair -- Queens and tens. BabyShark14 busted in sixth place, which paid out $4,199.98.

With five to go, mischa84 was still out in front with 50M, but I.Murtazin was lurking in second with 47.3M. Meanwhile, JFS1986 brought up the rear with 12.6M.

JFS1986 eliminated in 5th place

Shorty JFS1986 open-shoved for 11,861,512 with A♥8♠, and I.Murtazin called with A♣T♥. The board ran out A♠J♠2♣9♣T♣. Both players flopped an Ace, but I.Murtazin won the pot with two pair -- Aces and tens. For fifth place, JFS1986 earned $5,755.53.

DEAL!

With four remaining, action was paused to discuss a deal. I.Murtazin was the leader with 64.3M, followed by mischa84 (49.1M), runaldinho1 (27.8M), and KaptanPacior (14.2M). The had to leave $1,500 on the table to the eventual champion, but they worked out a deal with the following details: I.Murtazin ($15,593.01), mischa84 ($13,526.94), runaldinho1 ($11,000.00), and KaptanPacior ($9,147.69).

KaptanPacior eliminated in 4th place

With a deal in place, fireworks ensued. KaptanPacior min-raised to 2.8M and I.Murtazin called. The flop was 6♥5♠5♦. KaptanPacior fired out 4.2M, I.Murtazin raised 9.1M, KaptanPacior jammed for 26,169,905, and I.Murtazin called.

I.Murtazin led with two pair against KaptanPacior's air. The turn was the A♠ and the river was the 2♠. against KaptanPacior failed to improve and hit the virtual rail in fourth place, which paid out $9,147.69.

With three remaining, I.Murtazin led with 71.8M and held almost half the remaining chips in play.

runaldinho1 eliminated in 3rd place

Shorty runaldinho1 moved all-in for 20,949,294 and attempted a heroic stand with 7♥3♥, but I.Murtazin called with a dominant A♣J♦. The board finished up A♠Q♥6♣5♦6♥. I.Murtazin flopped a pair of Aces and rivered Aces up to secure the pot. Although runaldinho1 miraculously picked up a glimmer of hope after turning a gutshot, but never got there by the river.  Netherlands' runaldinho1 headed to the virtual rail in third place, which paid out an even $11,000.00 according to the four-way money chop.

With two remaining in the hunt for the crown, mischa84 was ahead 92.2M to 63.3M.

Early on mischa84 seized momentum and tried to deliver a knockout blow, but got in trouble with A♦5♥ vs. I.Murtazin's A♣T♣. I.Murtazin actually blew an opportunity to double up when the board ran out K♣Q♠T♠Q♥J♣ and both players chopped with a Broadway straight.

I.Murtazin methodically chipped away at the lead and finally evened the score. But mischa84 launched a counterattack. mischa84 tried to put I.Murtazin away for good, but lost a race with T♠T♥ vs. A♠Q♠. I.Murtazin rivered the wheel to win the pot and avoid an elimination. At that point, I.Murtazin was on a path toward victory.

mischa84 eliminated in 2nd place; I.Murtazin wins Event #94!

I.Murtazin opened up a 3-1 advatange and as soon as an opportunity arose, I.Murtazin picked off mischa84. I.Murtazin min-raised to 6M, mischa84 bombed it all-in for 50,017,296 with K♠Q♠, and I.Murtazin called with A♥K♥. The board finished up J♦J♥3♦7♥2♦. Neither player's hand improved, but I.Murtazin dragged the pot with a better Ace-high kicker.

Germany's mischa84 displayed a gutsy runner-up performance and earned $13,526.94 for second place.

Congrats to the newest MicroMillions champion, Russia's I.Murtazin, who collected $17,093.01 for first place.
