MicroMillions 8: Kelvin_FP:AR captures Event #93 title ($2.20 NLHE)

Ten days of MicroMillions madness came to a close today with seven events on the schedule, ranging from a $1 rebuy hyper-turbo to the $22 buy-in, $1 million guaranteed Main Event. Falling in between was Event #93, a regular-speed $2.20 buy-in NLHE event. It attracted 14,761 runners, their $2.20 buying combining to create a $29,522.00 prize pool. 2,025 places were paid with first place set to earn $3,701.27.

Blinds were up to 100,000/200,000 on the final table bubble when Valentim903 led off the action with a min-raise to 400,000. Karelli made a large three-bet to 3.4 million with A♦K♣ and Valentim903 called all-in for 2.64 million. Valentim903's 9♣9♠ turned a jack-high straight on the 7♣8♥T♣J♣3♠ board and karelli was crippled to only 390,000 in chips and was eliminated on the next hand. Once again, pocket nines dealt the blow as karelli's K♣2♠ failed to improve against hooshimine's 9♠9♥.

lanciafan out in ninth on Hand #1, Valentim903 KOs Jimwa157

On the first hand of the final table, lanciafan open-shoved for 1.84 million from middle position and Vandumn1 called from the big blind with A♠Q♦. Lanciafan's Q♥K♦ did not overcome domination on the Q♣T♣4♦J♥2♠ board and he exited in ninth place ($177.13).

Moments later, Valentim903 won a crucial race when his A♦K♦ turned a pair of aces vs. Jimwa57's Q♠Q♥. Jimwa157 was left with less than 100,000 after the hand and busted in eighth place on the next deal when his K♠J♠ ran into Valentim903's A♠A♦ ($265.69).

Kuharinos kings crush megaMarche

Action slowed for the next two levels and with the blinds up to 200,000/400,000, vinga449 opened for 800,000 from UTG+1. Kuharino shoved for 10.4 million from middle position and the action passed to megaMarche, who called all-in for 5.55 million from the small blind. MegaMarche tabled T♦T♥ but they were crushed by Kuharino's K♦K♥. Kuharino flopped top set on the K♠5♦2♣7♥Q♣ board and megaMarche hit the rail in seventh place, collecting $516.63.

Vandiumn1 vanquishes vinga559

Four hands later, vinga449 opened for a 3x raise to 1.5 million and Vandumn1 three-bet to 6 million straight from the big blind. Vinga449 called off his remaking 4.34 million, his A♣J♠ dominating Vandumn1's A♠6♠. However, Vandumn1 flopped an ace-high flush to wrest away the lead, the board running out K♠9♠2♠8♥Q♠ to end vinga449's run in sixth place ($797.09).

Valentim903 out in fifth

Hooshimine got a boost when he doubled through Kelvin_FP:AR, his K♣Q♣ holding up against K♠J♣ in a 16.1 million pot. Meanwhile, Valentim903 had fallen all the way to 1.36 million in chips. He moved in from UTG with K♣6♣, but hooshimine picked up 5♣5♦ in the big blind and called. Hooshimine flopped a set of kings on the Q♠J♦5♠T♠2♦ board and eliminated Valentim903 in fifth place ($1,092.31)

Vandumn1 rises, Kuahrino busts in fourth

Vandumn1 vaulted to the top of the pack when he doubled through Kelvin_FP:AR. Although his A♥6♥ was dominated by A♣9♥, Vandumn1 flopped a six on the Q♠3♦6♠4♣8♠ board to move up to 24 million in chips. Moments later, Kelvin_FP:AR opened for a min-raise to 1.6 million and Vandium1 shoved for 20 million on the button. Kuharino called all-in for 13.6 million from the big blind and Kelvin_FP:AR gave up his hand. Again, Vandumn1 was behind, his A♠7♦ up against pocket nines, but he flopped an ace to end Kuharino's run in fourth place ($1,387.53).

hooshimine takes third

When three-handed play commenced, Vandumn1 held the chip lead with 36.9 million, Kelvin_FP:AR was second with 24.7 million and hooshimine was the short stack with 12.2 million. Hooshimine quickly fell to 9.75 million in chips and three-bet shoved pre flop with K♠J♣ from the small blind. Initial raiser Vandumn1 called with 8♥8♠ and his pair held up to eliminate hooshimine in third place ($1,977.97).

Heads-up chip counts

Seat 6: Kelvin_FP:AR (28,837,295 in chips)
Seat 7: Vandumn1 (44,967,705 in chips)

Vandumn1 brought a 1.5 to 1 chip lead into heads-up play, but Kelvin_FP:AR wasted no time making up ground. With the blinds up to 500,000/1,000,000, Kelvin_FP:AR min-raised the button and Vandumn1 called. The flop fell Q♦J♦7♥ and Vandumn1 led into Kelvin_FP:AR for 1 million. Kelvin_FP:AR raised to 2.5 million and Vandumn1 called. Both players checked the A♣ on the turn, but when the 4♥ rivered, Vandumn1 bet 5 million. Kelvin_FP:AR called and turned over Q♣4♣ for two pair, besting Vadumn1's J♠4♠.

With that pot, Kelvin_FP:AR moved up to 38.4 million, but Vandumn1 was still close behind with 35.3 million. However, Kelvin_FP:AR went on to win 13 of the next 16 pots, increasing his stack to 47.7 million. Vandumn1 struck back when he got three streets of value from a flopped pair of sevens, the 46.25 million pot putting him back within striking distance of Kelvin_FP:AR.

Kelvin_FP:AR retalliated a short time later. All-in pre flop vs. Vandumn1's Q♦J♦, Kelvin_FP:AR's pocket nines held up to double his stack to 48.1 million. Kelvin_FP:AR held steady and chipped up slightly to 51.7 million when Vandumn1 open-shoved for 21.9 million on the button. Kelvin_FP:AR looked down at A♦A♠ and made a trivially easy call. Vandumn1's T♣3♥ didn't get a miracle on the K♥9♣5♠3♦A♣ board and Kelvin_FP:AR locked up his first MicroMillions title.

Congratulations and vamoooooo to Brazil's Kelvin_FP:AR! He banked $3,701.27 for the win while runner-up Vandumn1 earned $2,577.27.
