MicroMillions 8: valerie112 is victorious in Event #26 ($2.20 NLHE, 6-Max, 2R1A)

The premise behind the MicroMillions is simple but effective, low stakes, big fields and huge prizes. With a little bit of luck, you can win several thousand times your initial buy-in after just a few hours of play. And that's exactly what happened to valerie112 of Romania, who took home $6,060.72 and a MicroMillions 8 title after nine and a half hours of poker action.

Event #26 offered the opportunity of two rebuys and an add-on to all players involved and the event saw a total of 8,275 entries with 10,675 rebuys and 2,846 add-ons. Not only did this break the tournament's $25k guarantee, it stomped on it from a great height creating a final prize pool of $43,592.

A total of 1,080 players were paid, getting a minimum of $9.15 and it was the unfortunate Sorgeloose of Belgium who was the last player to miss out on that amount, finishing in 1,081st place.

With two tables left, mrzackattack was the clear chip leader having eliminated two players in quick succession to boost his stack close to the 40-million mark as the tournament marched on to the final table. However, it was min lkk who was to be the final table bubble, running K♥Q♥ into valerie122's A♠Q♣ leaving the final table looking like this:

Event #26 Final Table

Final Table
Seat 1: kodered1391 (6,715,707 in chips)
Seat 2: JourneyToJah (16,939,100 in chips)
Seat 3: plyush (21,944,679 in chips)
Seat 4: valerie112 (22,815,992 in chips)
Seat 5: ITSME81 (8,838,336 in chips)
Seat 6: mrzackattack (30,601,186 in chips)

Six-max is well-known for its aggressive action and true to form, the final table was almost a blur, lasting little more than 30 minutes.

A brutal three-bet pot saw JourneyToJah go out in 6th position. The Lithuanian player had fired a bet on a 2♦J♠T♥ flop only to find mrzackattack move all-in. JourneytoJah quickly called with J♥J♣ while the Canadian chip leader showed Q♠9♠ for an open-ended straight draw. The 3♣ on the turn changed nothing but the K♠ river sent a 28 million chip pot across to mrzackattack who increased his chip lead even further. JourneyToJah would have to settle for $653.88 as a consolation for being the first out on the final table.

After this hand, valerie112 managed to double through mrzackattack with kings against jacks, taking over the chip lead during five-handed play. By now the blinds were 400,000/800,000/100,000 and both ITSME81 and kodered1391 were in the danger zone, under ten big blinds. This didn't stop mrzackattack from being prepared to risk it all, making big bets against the chip leader and the fearless aggression seemed to work.

Then in the space of four hands, valerie112 eliminated two players in quick succession to massively increase her own lead. First she took out kodered1391, the latter having made a button push with J♥J♦ but ran into valerie112's A♥K♣ in the big blind and lost the flip when the board came 9♣2♥K♠T♣A♦.

Three hands later and it was ITSME81 who was the one to be knocked out, pushing their short stack over the top of valerie112's initial raise with A♦K♣. This time valerie112 had 2♦2♠ and the board offered no help to the player from Belgium who went out in 4th place, winning $1,961.64 for their efforts.

Three-handed, mrzackattack and plyush got into the biggest pot of the tournament. All the money went in on the river of a J♦T♦3♠4♠6♦ board, plyush turned over Q♦2♦ for a queen-high flush but mrzackattack had been holding K♦5♦ to scoop a pot worth nearly half the chips in play. With just over one big blind left, plyush was unable to make a comeback and was dispatched in the very next hand, 7♣5♥ proving no good against mrzackattack's A♣Q♣.

Heads-up Chip Counts:
Seat 4: valerie112 (53,467,234 in chips)
Seat 6: mrzackattack (55,512,766 in chips)

With the blinds going up to 500,000/1,000,000/125,000, the two players started the heads-up battle almost dead even in chips. Valerie112 took an early lead, then the two players paused to talk about a deal and mrzackattack negotiated an even money deal. Both players would take $5,560.72 with $500 left for the winner.

Having both banked substantial sums, the two players then settled the final hand in true gambling style getting all their money preflop, valerie112 with T♠ 3♣ while mrzackattack had 8♣4♣. The board came K♥T♦2♥A♠5♣ and the extra $500 and MicroMillions title went to the Romanian player.
