MicroMillions 4: poligraf86 passes the test after three-chop in Event #11 ($11 6-max NLHE)
Usually the player taking the least amount from the chop is also the first person out after the cards are thrown back into the air. In the tonight's $75,000 guaranteed MicroMillions 4 $11 buy-in Event #11 poligraf86 showed a little bit of luck and a lot of determination would net an extra $1,500.00 and $16,065.08 total after taking down the massive chip leader raca1983 at the final table. While raca1983 took the most money away ($20,658.43) the Slovenian was denied the victory as poligraf86 passed the test to win.
Tyler "frosty012" Frost penned a blog post this morning showing his battle plan to capture the MicroMillions 4 Player of the Series title. As he mentions in the post, the winner of the leaderboard will take away a huge $5,200 SCOOP ticket but unfortunately the Team Online player was not found on board for this tournament today but did manage to get on the leaderboard yesterday with a cash in Event # 4.
A couple of Red Spades did drop by and made an attempt to tackle this small stadium-sized field. Team PokerStars Pro David Williams could not get anything going and finished in the high 10Ks. However, fellow Team PokerStars Pro Martin "AABenjaminAA" Hruby went relatively deep finishing in 704th place ($45.16) earning a small cash along with the other 2,400 players.
virgo_49, the Event #9 champ would move from the PLO win to a NLHE tournament but found no success today finishing in 9,764th place. Estonia's jon011 came in 12th place on the Player of the Series chase during the first MicroMillions tournament series, is back at it again and currently sitting in third place on the early leaderboard, but was stopped short of collecting more points after finishing in 3,217th place.
Down to the final two tables, chucka24, tried to push Trololooooo! off of pocket aces A♥A♣ after a small flop 4♠8♣6♠. But, the semi-bluff backfired as chucka24 flipped up 7♣Q♠, and Trololooooo! hauled in the 7.03 million chip pot with blinds at 100K/200K ante 25K as chucka24 exited in 12th place ($1,223.23).
sazu79 (Switzerland), steffffussss (Germany), and MIKELITO182 (Peru) quickly followed in 9th through 11th place as blinds moved up to 150K/300K ante 37.5K and players enjoying around a 30BB average despite playing four-handed on two tables. All eight remaining players would make it to the ninth hourly break with raca1983 and Surgut86ru both holding over 21 million in chips a piece while third place poligraf86 was the only other player with eight digit chips (10.7 million).
Third hand back from the break and Trololooooo! made short work of fronzzzz as Trololooooo!'s big slick A♥K♥ overcame fronzzzz's J♠7♥ after both players shoved pre-flop and a jack hit the door J♦3♥2♣. But, a king would land on the turn K♠ and with a blanked river 4♥ fronzzzz's settled for $1,599.61 in eighth place.
Then with the blinds at 200K/400K ante 50K casperwell led off with a min-raise from the cutoff as raca1983 three-bet to two million. Back to casperwell holding a medium-ace 8♦A♠ and 9.1 million chips found their way into the middle as raca1983 insta-called with pocket kings K♣K♥. Despite three spades by the turn 5♠ 6♦ J♠ T♠ the non-spade river 4♦ finished off casperwell in seventh place ($1,599.61) starting up the final table below:
Seat 1: Surgut86ru (19415399 in chips)
Seat 2: antopen90 (6043686 in chips)
Seat 3: poligraf86 (10422000 in chips)
Seat 4: +EVShover (10148406 in chips)
Seat 5: raca1983 (33437828 in chips)
Seat 6: Trololooooo! (14627681 in chips)
Immediately the table would discuss a deal in the chat box without stopping play as the few abstainers held fast despite the constant pleas over the first five minutes.
As the blinds moved up to 300K/600K ante 75K chip leader raca1983 would lead things off with a raise to 1.5 million as the excitedly named Trololooooo! shoved for 4.8 million from the button. The blinds fetched some popcorn as raca1983 could afford the call and did so with 9♣K♥. Trololooooo! showed the dominating Q♦K♣ but the board spat out two nines on the flop J♣ 9♦ 9♠ 2♦ A♠ giving the chip leader the 10.9 million chip pot and Trololooooo! sixth place cash ($2,226.28).
Cannot pen a winner
Three hands after the other short stack antopen90, who has been pleading for a chop, would call all-in preflop after calling a 1.8 million chip raise by Surgut86ru. antopen90's small ace 4♣A♦ would be a small favorite over Surgut89ru's K♣7♥. Flopping an ace certainly helped antopen90's chances of staying alive J♥A♠T♠. But the Q♥ turn did not as Surgut86ru notched a straight that held on the 9♦ river to end antopen90's tournament run in fifth place ($3,515.50).
With the blinds up to 400K/800K ante 100K +EVShover was skimming by on a picked off blind steal or two but the blinds steadily ate away at Luxembourg resident's stack. Watch below as +EVShover tries to double up against Surgut86ru:
The 5♣6♦ of +EVShover looked very tiny in the face of Surgut89ru's pocket tens T♦T♥. The small connectors looked even smaller after the A♣ Q♠ 2♣ 4♥ Q♣ board failed to connect earning +EVShover $6,116,17 in fourth place.
With +EVShover gone the remaining three immediately paused for a chop discussion that contained no other words than "I agree", check out their cuts below that left $1,500.00 for our Event #11 champ:
A change in plans
With Surgut86ru and raca1983 dominating the chip stacks go into the final table and continuing to do so as three players remained, it was thought that they would face off for the title. poligraf86 had other ideas as a strange hand played out with Surgut86ru leading for a min-raise from the button and poligraf86 shoving for 15.7 million from the small blind. Holding 7♠6♠ Surgut86ru called as poligraf86's A♣4♣ held up on the 8♦ 5♣ 2♣ J♥ 6♣ board by hitting a flush.
Two hands later with the blinds still at 400K/800K ante 100K Surgut86ru would shove with pocket sixes 6♥6♣ as raca1983 found a call with Q♠9♦. A queen on the turn 5♣ K♦ K♥ Q♥ 9♠ would end Surgut86ru's night in third place ($16,670.66).
Despite the double up, poligraf86 was still at a big chip deficit going into heads-up play against raca1983 and would need a little bit of luck to win this tournament.
Six hands into the battle, the necessary luck came down in full force. With the blinds holding at 400K/800K ante 100K a limp in by raca1983 had both players watching the A♠2♦6♣ flop. poligraf86 would check-call a 1.6 million chip flop bet and after the 7♠ turn check-called again for four million. However, after the 4♠ river, poligraf86 woke up and led out for eight million chips. Holding big slick K♦A♣ raca1983 shoved for 56 million as poligraf86 quickly called with the rivered two pair 4♥A♦. race1983 expressed a quick "wtf" in the chat box as the 62.3 million pot slid over to poligraf86.
Six minutes later with the blinds moving up to 500K/1MM ante 125K, raca1983 tried to min-raise from the small blind as was met by poligraf86's covering shove. Watch below to see what happened after raca1983 made the call for less holding pocket eights 8♦8♥:
53.1 million chips in the middle as poligraf86 showed Q♣K♠ which found running cards on the A♦ 5♦ 2♦ J♥ T♣ board to hit a broadway straight and win Event #11 title!
