MicroMillions 4: Russian domination as u123 claims Event #92 Sunday Spark Special Edition for $10K ($1-R 3x-Turbo NLHE)
It's no question the Russian players have come out in force here at PokerStars. Case in point, four Russians would reach the MicroMillions 4 Event #92 Sunday Spark Special Edition final table. dmXwaar took away eighth place but the other three, u123, ~VAS DENIS~, and Mb2901 would battle it out for the tournament's top spot and an unchopped $10,832.49 all for the price of a happy meal at McDonald's (depending on how many of the 71,580 rebuys they partook in of course). In the end it was u123 defeating ~VAS DENIS~ heads-up for the title, claiming that five figure win over the huge 15,458 player field.
FENOMENICO, also hails from Russia, currently holds first place on the Player of the Series leaderboard and with good reason. 36 cashes for the tireless Russian going into this morning's event, good for 430 points and a 15 point lead over ESTRATEGA 18 who snagged 24 cashes and a third place showing ($2,540.20) during Event #34's 6-max shootout. FENOMENICO would add to the lead however by claiming $10.38 in 1798th place as Uruguay's ESTRATEGA 18 fell well short of the 2,025 places paid by finishing in 4447th place. With the $1 million guaranteed Main Event later today and two more players, mic87 - 3rd place 410 points and LeGitan.gr - 4th place 390 points, within 40 points of the leader, that Champion's trophy and $5,200.00 SCOOP ticket is still up for grabs and should be another exciting conclusion to the MicroMillions tournament series.
At the five hour mark 22 players still remained in line for the $10,832.49 first place prize. A considerable amount with economical dollar buy-in and thanks to the MicroMillions series the Sunday Spark's normal $25,000 guarantee being doubled to $50,000.00 as Denmark's deagledan and Russia's dmXwaar claimed the top two chips stacks with 61.8 million and 58 million respectively and 500K/1MM ante 100K blinds.
Only five minutes would pass until the tables condensed to two as the two chip leaders, deagledan and dmXwaar each with over 70 million chips at one point, held court on table 1051, table 840's table leader was under 40 million as the turbo set blinds forced the action. Andreas4015 would take home $259.73 in 15th place as the blinds moved up to 1.05MM/2.1MM ante 210K. Shortly after P.A.V.0901 claimed 14th place ($259.73), deagledan and dmXwaar clashed for a huge 106.9 million chip pot. All-in preflop after a series of raises deagledan's tourney relied on big slick A♦K♠ passing through the T♥Q♦ of dmXwaar. The first four cards helped 3♦ 3♣ 6♦ 5♦ but a nasty T♣ river slid the huge pot to dmXwaar as deagledan finished in 13th place ($259.73).
The tournament quickly moved to the final table as just three hands later with the blinds still at 1.05MM/2.1MM ante 210K Mb2901 continued to condense the chips on table 840 by calling the 13.3 million chip big blind shove by Jurajda81 after limping in from the small blind with just 8♦J♠. Jurajda81's pocket nines 9♣9♠ found a safe flop but a jack on the turn 3♣ T♥ 4♥ J♦ 4♣ would ship the 27.4 million chip pot to Mb2901 as the final table started up below:
Seat 1: u123 (90639910 in chips)
Seat 2: djometeo (38997400 in chips)
Seat 3: joelle35 (29221695 in chips)
Seat 4: TheRock85921 (19401402 in chips)
Seat 5: dmXwaar (114523283 in chips)
Seat 6: PatB79 (25005924 in chips)
Seat 7: EL-PALY-11 (4173592 in chips)
Seat 8: ~VAS DENIS~ (74304324 in chips)
Seat 9: Mb2901 (107936470 in chips)
Two and out
Just two hands into the final table with the blinds moving up to 1.2MM/2.4MM ante 240K EL-PALY-11 would open shove for 11.9 million from middle position as it folded to u123 on the button with 82 million chips and big slick K♥A♥. The button quickly called as the blinds did not and EL-PALY-11 turned up a couple of suited face cards Q♠J♠. A great board for a game of Omaha Hi/Lo, not so much for EL-PALY-11, as the 3♣ 6♣ 3♦ 5♠ 4♠ board ended Argentinean's tournament in ninth place ($519.46).
The lady says no to dmXwaar
Falling on hard times after gaining an nine figure stack with two table remaining, dmXwaar was down to 20 million chips and blinds at 1.6MM/3.2MM ante 320K as djometeo min-raised UTG folded to dmXwaar holding big slick K♦A♠ in the hijack seat. A quick shove by dmXwaar was called by djometeo's dominated Q♠K♠. Luck be lady on the turn as the queen of diamonds matched the one in djometeo's hand 4♥ 6♦ 5♠ Q♦ 2♥ shipping $779.20 over to dmXwaar in eight place.
The rock crumbles
Watch below as TheRock85921 walks right into a spider web spun by ~VAS DENIS~:
A flopped set of fours 4♣4♠ for ~VAS DENIS~ got TheRock85291 to semi bluff-shove post flop holding 8♥7♥ and a flush draw. The draw blanked on the 4♥ Q♠ J♥ A♠ K♦ board handing 74.1 million chips to ~VAS DENIS~ and $1,512.12 real cash to TheRock85291 in seventh place.
No ace, no cry
As the blinds moved up to 2MM/4MM ante 400K a three-way pot broke out between short-stacked PatB79 who shoved for 12.9 million, ~VAS DENIS~ making the call, and joelle35 making the call out of the big blind. After the A♣J♠7♣ flop, joelle35 applied pressure with a shove for 31.8 million but having flopped top pair A♦6♦ ~VAS DENIS~ made the call to see joelle35's two pair A♠7♠. Lagging far behind was PatB79's pocket fours 4♣4♠ which was dead after the A♥ turn and blank J♥ river chopped the pot between ~VAS DENIS~ and joelle85 with aces full of jacks as PatB79 owned $2,337.61 in sixth place.
Joe on a roll
Two hands later with the blinds still at 2MM/4MM ante 400K djometeo would bump it up to 10 million as joelle35 shoved for 50.6 million. Folded back around to djometeo with a nifty pocket pair of nines 9♠9♣ the player from New Caledonia made the call for less. Less being the literal word in hand strength as well, as joelle35 turned up aces A♣A♠. An ace on the turn 2♥ Q♦ 4♦ A♥ T♣ would assure the 100.2 chip pot for joelle35 as djometeo claimed $3,203.39 in fifth place.
As the blinds moved up to 2.25MM/4.5MM ante 450K Mb2901 took a swipe at the blinds with a min-raise from the cutoff. joelle35 taking a step back in the hands after that nine figure pot, shoved for 40.3 million from the big blind holding a mid-ace 7♥A♦. Unfortunately, Mb2901 had the goods and called with pocket eights 8♠8♦. An eight on the flop 4♥ 8♥ 6♦ K♠ J♦ cemented the win for Mb2901 as joelle35 took home $4,069.18 in fourth place.
Quiet on the set
There was only quick plea for a chop throughout the entire final table as our final three stuck to playing poker versus swapping the sizable cash left in the prize pool. With the blinds at 3.5MM/7MM ante 700K Mb2901 was found to be shortstacked soon after surrendering a 117.6 million chip pot to u123. Down to 23.8 million and facing a bullying shove by ~VAS DENIS~ from the small blind, Mb2901 decided to call holding 9♥Q♣. ~VAS DENIS~ was not just pushing around the shortstack with air showing a small ace 3♣A♣. A queen on the flop gave Mb2901 some life, but a third club on the turn 2♣ Q♠ 5♣ 8♣ 7♣ took it away as Mb2901 collected $5,800.74 in third place.
Cracked for $10K
Watch below as u123 and ~VAS DENIS~ combine for a 351.1 million chip pot after the 6♣5♣T♥ flop determining who would collect the five figure real money prize:
~VAS DENIS~ would lead out for 30 million as u123 came back with 52 million. Holding pocket aces A♥A♠, ~VAS DENIS~ shoved for 154.7 million chips as u123 quickly called with the flopped top two 6♦T♦. No re-suck for ~VAS DENIS~ who watched the rest of the board K♣6♠ blank in u123's favor. A boat at the end shipped $10,832.49 and the Sunday Spark Special Edition Event #92 title to u123!
