MicroMillions 4: vhaselein survives rebuy madness in Event #90 ($1+R NLHE 3xTurbo)
While the MicroMillions series is full of great tournaments, my personal favourite is the micro-limit, super-turbo-charged, rebuy madness that offers something for everyone. Big fields, big prize pools and an entry fee that costs less than a cup of coffee. You can buy-in for just a solitary buck if you want, or you can gamble it up big time, if you prefer, without breaking the bank. vhaselein certainly enjoyed it, coming away with the title for Brazil, while Canada's srbia grabbed the biggest pay day after a four-handed deal.
A total of 9,390 players fronted up for the $1 No Limit Holdem 3xTurbo Rebuy Event and combined for a massive 41,348 rebuys and 4,500 add-ons to produce a prize pool of $50,266.58 to smash the guarantee.
Mikhail 'innerpsy' Shalamov was the only red spade from Team PokerStars that we could spot but his run ended in 1,742nd place within sight of the money for the top 1,260 players.
Also missing the money was Chamaco08 from Chile who was the unfortunate bubble in 1,261st place to miss out on the $9.04 min-cash.
A massive hand exploded on the final table bubble when gallegopepe called all in with 9♣9♦ against cool.sh's shove with A♣Q♠. An ace found its way onto the flop to see gallegopepe out in 10th as our final table was set:
Final Table Line up
Seat 1: MasterBrasil (14,295,217 in chips)
Seat 2: caVAQUIAHue (22,160,534 in chips)
Seat 3: gerysorin (41,405,475 in chips)
Seat 4: cool.sh (99,508,028 in chips)
Seat 5: halucinate62 (13,172,096 in chips)
Seat 6: vhaselein (47,002,398 in chips)
Seat 7: srbia (26,354,536 in chips)
Seat 8: ledigaonegao (9,018,136 in chips)
Seat 9: 420dmoney (14,297,580 in chips)
The final table bubble hand shot cool.sh into a massive chip lead while a couple of the others were under pressure with the blinds starting out at 1.05M/2.10M/210k.
The short-stacked ledigaonegao landed an early double up through the chip leader with pocket nines holding against ace-jack, before halucinate62 did the same with pocket fours holding against cool.sh's queen-nine.
However halucinate62 couldn't make it two double ups in a row after coming unstuck in a battle of the blinds against vhaselein. halucinate62 raised the small blind before vhaselein moved all in. halucinate62 made the call with A♠3♠ but was dominated by vhaselein's A♣Q♣. The board of A♥8♠6♠Q♥9♣ brought two pair for vhaselein and the end for halucinate62 in 9th place for $389.56.
caVAQUIAHue was next to fall after a cooler of a hand and a brutal river card:
Kings against jacks plays itself but the two-outer river left a devastated caVAQUIAHue to depart in 8th place for $552.93.
cool.sh continued to slide on the final table, doubling up another short stack. Although this time it was a little larger as srbia's pocket jacks held against cool.sh's pocket deuces.
420dmoney needed to make something happen, and decided to go with K♠3♠ in a battle of the blinds with ledigaonegao who tabled A♦6♠. 420dmoney grabbed life on the K♥8♣2♥ flop, but the A♥ swung it back in the other direction. The river J♥ missed both players to leave 420dmoney to pocket $1,005.33 for a nice four-figure score for 7th place.
MasterBrasil was next to go as the blinds started to rise to dizzy heights. MasterBrasil moved all in from under the gun with vhaselein making the call:
MasterBrasil looked good for the double up after turning the flush, but the fourth club found its way onto the river to give vhaselein the nut flush to take down the pot. MasterBrasil received $1,507.99 for 6th place.
gerysorin won a big pot without showdown against vhaselein, before ledigaonegao found a double with a dominant ace against srbia as the chips were fairly evenly spread around the table.
Things kept going south for cool.sh who ran pocket tens into the pocket kings of vhaselein, before moving all in with A♥9♦ against the 3♣3♥ of srbia. The board of 2♣3♠T♥6♦Q♦ delivered srbia a set to see cool.sh crash out in 5th place for $2,010.66 in prize money.
The four remaining players entered into deal discussions, with srbia's big stack collecting the largest share of the pie as a deal was struck.
Upon the resumption of play, ledigaonegao was able to swing things around with a double up holding ace-queen against srbia's ace-five, but vhaselein was able to take some of those chips with ace-jack too strong for ledigaonegao's ace-eight.
The chips were splashing around as the four players fought valiantly, but it was gerysorin who was first to crack. gerysorin was all in with 9♦Q♦ against ledigaonegao's Q♣J♣ and when the board ran out 2♠8♦Q♠4♠J♠, gerysorin was left to depart in 4th place for $3,739.75.
As the blinds were getting crazy, ledigaonegao moved all in with A♥7♥ with srbia making the call in the big blind with 7♣K♦. srbia paired the king and then turned a flush on the board of 5♣K♣3♣Q♣3♦ to leave ledigaonegao on the virtual rail in 3rd place for a total of $4,258.78 in prize money.
Heads-up chip counts
Seat 6: vhaselein (137,523,372 in chips)
Seat 7: srbia (149,690,628 in chips)
vhaselein picked up an early pot with a straight to take the lead, before a big bluff by srbia with seven-high on a board of Q♥K♦9♥A♣9♦ was picked off by vhaselein with Q♦J♣.
That put vhaselein into a strong position as it appeared that srbia had seen enough. The final hand saw vhaselein raise and then move all in with K♣Q♣ as srbia called it off preflop with 8♦5♦. The board was spread 4♦Q♥6♣3♠3♦ to pair vhaselein's queen to claim the victory! A favourable deal netted srbia $5,800.00 for 2nd place as vhaselein wins the title and $5,289.03. Congratulations!
