MicroMillions 4: Vitana vaults past Xa-Xa_team to win Event #34 ($5.50 NLHE 6-Max Turbo Shootout)
Shootouts are a simple enough prospect, even this one. Win your first table, make the money. Win the second table, make some more. Win the third table? Now it's getting real, and winning the fourth table means a trip to the final table. That's where things get a little more complicated. Take a short-handed turbo structure, consider that all six players already had to win four consecutive SNGs, mix in the fact that there's more than $14,700 still to be awarded and don't forget that everyone paid only $5.50 to get here.
After the final six locked up solid paydays in a six-way deal, Xa-Xa_team took control of the table and seemed a shoo-in to take the title, but Vitana made a valiant comeback during heads-up play to win a MicroMillions title and $3,300.
Event #34 started with 7,776 runners, the prizepool blasting past the $20k guarantee to top out at $38,880. The 1,296 players who won their first six-handed table made the money, with first place set to earn $5,059.08. Seven Red Spades joined the field and two cashed-- Andre Coimbra in 521st place and Victor Ramdin in 193rd.
Vitana's heads-up match with shongoko was the last one to finish before the final table was set. After check-calling the flop and leading the turn, Vitana moved all-in on the river, the board reading 7♠5♣2♠8♥J♥. Shongoko called with T♠7♥ for a pair of sevens, but was crushed by Vitana's two pair with 7♦5♥.

Seat 2: CBaptiste5 (5,000 in chips)
Seat 3: Vitana (5,000 in chips)

Seat 6: ESTRATEGA 18 (5,000 in chips)
ESTRATEGA 18, Esq.
"STOP! 50% deal?" wrote Xa-Xa_team. just as cards went in the air.
Everyone agreed to pause the action and commence negotiations. CBaptiste5 asked what an even chop would look like and the final table host informed them that after setting aside the required $400 to play for, each player would get $2,390.03. This was a popular idea, with CBaptiste5, Xa-Xa_team., plouminho, and superstar07 quickly agreeing to these numbers. ESTRATEGA 18, however, wanted to leave a bit more in play, suggesting they each save $1,500 and play for the rest.
CBaptiste5 declared that he wouldn't agree to anything other than the even chop, but ESTRATEGA 18 couldn't contain his bluster.
ESTRATEGA 18: IM A MICRO MILLION CHAMPION BOYS
ESTRATEGA 18: THE BEST STATS HERE
ESTRATEGA 18: I PROBABLY GO TO WIN
ESTRATEGA 18: THE BEST 6 MAX SIT N GO PLAYER
ESTRATEGA 18: IM JESUS
Thing is? He wasn't lying, at least not about the first part. Back in November, ESTRATEGA 18 topped Event #44 in the MicroMillions III, earning nearly $6,100.
The negotiations in a disarray, ESTRATEGA 18 took the reins and proposed a deal that would guarantee everyone $2,000 and divide the remaining prize pool among the top three finishers.
ESTRATEGA 18: 1300 900 and 540
ESTRATEGA 18: THATS PERFECT
ESTRATEGA 18: THATS BEAUTIFUL
ESTRATEGA 18: TOP 3 GET PAID
superstar07: lets doit
ESTRATEGA 18: AND 2K FOR EACH
The plan had its detractors, some folks wanting to confine the extra payments to the top two, others hoping to extended to three. But in his own inimitable way, ESTRATEGA 18 managed to get everyone on the same page.
Vitana: first two better
superstar07: first 2 for me 2
ESTRATEGA 18: OMG WHAT T GAMBLERS
Xa-Xa_team.: )) ok go 3
ESTRATEGA 18: yep
ESTRATEGA 18: go 3
ESTRATEGA 18: 500 uss A LOT OF MONEY
ESTRATEGA 18: FOR 3
ESTRATEGA 18: I CAN EAT FOR A YEAR
superstar07: 2 we have majority 3 its a tie
Vitana: ok for 3 whatever :-)
Xa-Xa_team. takes two
When cards finally went in the air, Xa-Xa_team. struck first. After flopping top pair on a 9♣8♠3♣K♣9♥ board, Xa-Xa_team. called bets from superstar07 on the flop and turn, then got in a 960-chip value bet on the river when he made trip nines. Three hands later, Xa-Xa_team finished off superstar07 in sixth place. The money went in on the turn, Xa-Xa_team.'s K♠9♠ having outflopped superstar07's K♦Q♠ on a K♣9♥6♦T♥ board. The river was the 3♦ and Xa-Xa_team. moved up to 13,381 in chips.
The rest of the pack were all below their starting stacks, including plouminho, who picked up pocket kings and opened for 250. Xa-Xa_team. three-bet to 1,500 and plouminho came back over the top for the rest of his chips, 4,243 in total. Xa-Xa_team. called with A♣Q♣ and snapped off those kings with the nut flush, the board running out 8♣7♣4♠6♥5♣ to send plouminho to the rail in fifth.
With four players remaining, this tournament found itself on a mid-final table bubble thanks to the deal. $540.20 separated fourth place from third and with 17,560 in chips, Xa-Xa_team had more than triple the stack of his closest competitor. Bursting that bubble would take another pair of kings cracked and CBaptiste5 was the one on the receiving end. Xa-Xa_team flopped a flush draw with A♣J♣ and spiked an ace on the river, ending CBaptiste5's run in fourth place.
ESTRATEGA 18 exits
Xa-Xa_team.'s third knockout took him up to 22,607 in chips. Vitana held 4,214 and ESTRATEGA 18 was the short stack with 3,179. With the blinds up to 80/160, Vitana finally got back above starting stack when his 5♦8♦ flopped top pair, turned two pair and rivered a boat, Xa-Xa_team. paying him off on all three streets. Two hands later, Vitana and Xa-Xa_team. clashed again. Holding K♦3♣, Xa-Xa_team. check-raised a A♣Q♦4♠ flop with air and Vitana called with A♦9♦. Vitana called 1,400 more on the 2♦ turn and checked back on the 6♣ river to win the pot and move up to 8,643 in chips.
One more orbit passed before ESTRATEGA 18 moved all-in for 2,706 from the small blind and Xa-Xa_team. called from the big. ESTRATEGA 18's A♥3♠ didn't improve against Xa-Xa_team.'s pocket eights and he went out in third place, earning $2,540.20.
Heads-up chip counts
Seat 1: Xa-Xa_team. (22,032 in chips)
Seat 3: Vitana (7,968 in chips)
Vitana may have started heads-up play at a 2.75 to 1 chip disadvantage, but hit a rush straight away to even the counts. When he picked up 9♥9♦, he let the aggressive Xa-Xa_team. do his bidding for him on a J♦6♣2♥4♥6♥ board. Sure enough, Xa-Xa_team. fired three times with only Q♣9♣, and Vitana picked up a 5,560-chip pot. Moments later, Xa-Xa_team three-bet to 1,000 preflop then led out for 1,250 on a K♠5♠5♦ board. Vitana attacked the c-bet and moved in for 7,848, successfully pushing Xa-Xa_team. off his hand. Then in another three-bet pot, Vitana fired out on a T♦4♠3♥ flop. Xa-Xa_team. called, but folded to Vitana's check-raise when the 8♣ hit the turn.
Things weren't so lopsided anymore, Xa-Xa_team. holding 15,256 to Vitana's 14,744. No sooner did Vitana grind his way to a small chip lead did Xa-Xa_team. snuff it out. The lead changed six times as these two slugged it out, the blinds rising to 250/500 before Vitana caught a big break. Holding 12,862 to Xa-Xa_team.'s 17,138, Vitana three-bet shoved with Q♠T♥ but Xa-Xa_team. called with A♥6♥. Vitana found salvation on the flop, a ten falling to make him top pair. Xa-Xa_team. didn't catch up and fell to only 4,276.
Xa-Xa_team. got his money in ahead again on the next hand, but couldn't fade Vitana. Holding 8♠9♣ on the button, Vitana moved all-in and Xa-Xa_team. called with A♠T♦, but Vitana hit a nine on the flop to close out the win.
Congratulations to Vitana on an exciting come-from-behind victory! He picked up $3,300 for the win while runner-up Xa-Xa_team earned $2,900.
