MicroMillions 5: Firmly in the black, blackdozen90 wins Event #26 ($2.20 NLHE 6-max 2R1A)

As a quarter of the MicroMillions 5 series passes once again it shows that it is not the buy-in that matters nor the huge prize pools but rather the ROI and shots for those players who grind it out on the $2 MTTs or $.10/$.25 cash games to gain a little spot of the limelight. Today's MicroMillion 5 Event #26 $2.20 buy-in 2R1A tournament was no exception as once again the $25K guarantee was busted early and often gathering $45,560.00 into the prize pool thanks to the 8,572 entries, 11,301 rebuys, and 2,907 add-ons. Towards the end it seemed Russia's blackdozen90 and Sweden's jeppe21would run away with the title. While they would give up the chip lead at time, they came back strong to face off heads-up for the title after a five-way chop. blackdozen90's aggression was too much for jeppe21 in taking home the title and $4,934.05.

Down to two tables of six after eight and half hours of play the board stated the players had an average of over 30 big blinds to work with but most of those chips belonged to blackdozen90, vV-Freak-Zz, and jeppe21 who held a collective 80 million in chips. With blinds at 150K/300K ante 37.5K it would be a tale of the have and the have-nots as the other nine players totaled around 40 million in chips.

Sure enough three players sermax2011 (Ukraine), HengHuatHeng (Singapore), and mAKsiKoz (Ukraine) would collect their $350.81 in prize money quickly in 10th through 12th place. After primopie left with $455.60 in ninth place, blackdozen90 flexed the muscles of a chip leader. With the blinds moving up to 200K/400K ante 50K and holding J♦4♦ blackdozen90 would open shove from the small blind for 33.3 million chips as Russia2011 had a decision for 3.2 million chips and tournament life. A♠J♠ was more than plenty to go with considering the situation and while the money went in well, it ended in a different direction as a four hit the river 3♦ 2♣ 2♠ T♠ 4♥ sending the 7.4 million chip pot to increase blackdozen90's chip lead and start hand-for-hand play.

The final table bubble lasted into the ninth hourly break with the $6,839.13 sitting up top and jeppe21 making a move on the adjacent table to get to 33.5 million just below blackdozen90's leading 35.1 million. As AMiRSaDRY and the*god88 battled with blackdozen90's aggression on one table majkl7b7 was doing everything possible to stay alive on the other holding less than two big bets in a few spots but coming out on top when all-in.

The patience paid off for majkl7b7 as the blinds moved up to 300K/600K ante 75K JonFinn found A♠A♣ and got into a raising war with the new chip leader jeppe21. 20.7 million chips in the middle as jeppe21 turned over pocket jacks J♣J♦ and caught a set on the 6♥ J♠ 7♦ 8♣ 5♦ flop sending majkl7b7 to the final table and JonFinn to the rail starting up the final table below:

Magical run finished

Made it last. It's what you can say about majkl7b7's run to the final table and a possible MicroMillion 5 title as it finally came to an end as the blinds moved up to 400K/800K ante 100K. Severely shortstacked again with 1.9 million chips, majkl7b7 moved all-in from the cutoff as AMiRSaDRY did the same for 3.2 million from the small blind, and the*god88 overcalled from the big blind. Everyone was looking up at AMiRSaDRY's aces A♠A♣ as the*god88's Q♣T♦ flopped top pair, and majkl7b7's pocket eights caught air on the 6♦ T♠ 7♣ 5♥ K♥ board to ship the 8.9 million chip pot to AMiRSaDRY and end majkl7b7's shortstack run in sixth place ($683.40).

Unexpected five-way deal

Despite some early chatter, the remaining five were eager to divvy up the remaining prize pool leaving $500.00 aside for the champion.

jeppe21: $4,591.85
blackdozen90: $4,434.05
the*god88: $3,675.96
vV-Freak-Zz: $2,558.29
AMiRSaDRY: $2,468.98

Divine direction

Shortstacked vV-Freak-Zz did not have much of a choice shoving with K♦T♥ as AMiRSaDRY and the*god88 traded bets until 56 million chips and the chip lead sat in the middle. Big slick K♥A♣ for AMiRSaDRY would whiff on the Q♥ 3♣ J♥ 5♣ 8♦ board against the*god88's pocket fours 4♣4♠ claiming the big pot and sending vV-Freak-Zz to the rail in fifth place ($2,558.29).

Scrappy finish

Despite being left with just 915,624 chips and 600K/1.2MM ante 150K blinds AMiRSaDRY would manage a double up and last 11 more hands until finally succumbing to the blinds. With 1.11 million left AMiRSaDRY was only able to post less than the big blind as blackdozen90 and the*god88 made the call. After checking the flop blackdozen90 bet 2.4 million on the 6♥ J♠ 8♦ T♦ turn as the*god88 folded. Showing the turned straight Q♣9♦ blackdozen90 locked up the pot against AMiRSaDRY's K♣3♣ who earned $2,468.98 in fourth place.

No prayer

While it seemed like the*god88 would break through the shield of chips held by blackdozen90 and jeppe21 it all faded away on this hand below:

Despite dominating jeppe21's J♥2♥ preflop shove with K♠J♦ AND hitting a straight on the turn, the Swede's hearts became a flush on the T♥ 4♠ 9♥ Q♠ 4♥ river sending off the*god88 in third place ($3,675.96).

Dozen hands to blackdozen90's win

12 hands exactly as blackdozen90 started with a 62.2 million to 51.6 million chip lead heads-up against jeppe21 and won the first eight hands in a row. jeppe21 tried to come back, taking down the blinds three straight times.

But, with the blinds up to 700K/1.4MM ante 175K both players found an ace in their hands and decided to settle things preflop. A♠4♦ for jeppe21 trailed the eight kicker 8♦A♣ of blackdozen90 and the kicker problem never got resolved on the 3♠ 7♦ 9♦ 9♥ 2♦ board as blackdozen90 won the extra $500.00 and the MicroMillions 5 Event #26 title!
