MicroMillions 6: Onami-sunami! onami33 captures Event #80 ($5.50 NLHE)
After a four-way deal closed out the ninth hour of play in today's MicroMillion 6 Event #80 $5.50 NLHE tournament one player decided to show the rest of the table who was boss. Akinet, kadabrakid, and Takacu all managed to shave off a good portion of the $29,585.00 prize pool but it would be onami33's furious finish that took down $3,423.94 along with the title.
Twenty minutes before the eighth hour of play our early risers (or late depending on the time zone would pile the once sizable 5,917 player field into two tables. Within four more minutes, the anxious 18 would pare down TrevVegas (Canada), AydinChecka (Germany), HitokiriXXX (Brazil), and spadeflush11 (Canada) to reduce the field to 14.
And that's where the population would stand at the eight hour mark as the players enjoyed a quick five minute break to refresh as this author's morning mixing of Rockstar energy drink and hot chocolate may result in a serious sugar crash later on. Crashing currently was jataman22 and qckiller86 only a few minutes after the break, both collecting $131.65 in 12th and 13th place respectively.
pompa_jc could not find an answer against playboy1175's big slick and finished 12th place with a pay bump to $176.03 as the blinds moved up to 70K/140K ante 17.5K. On the very next hand flacoalan would shove from the button for 875,884 chips holding A♦T♣. A good hand but not as solid as Tinchoolp768's pocket kings K♥K♣ in the big blind. A boat on the turn 7♣ 7♥ 4♦ K♦ 5♥ turned flacoalan's hand to dust heading into the final table bubble.
The wait was not long as Akinet would raise to 380K from the button as kmoneyd40 shoved for 1.92 million holding K♠Q♠ in the small blind. No luck here as Akinet quickly called with the dominating Q♦A♠ and rode the ace kicker to victory 4♥ 5♥ 6♦ 2♣ 5♣ starting up the final table below:
Seat 1: kadabrakid (1870000 in chips)
Seat 2: WellClear (1383000 in chips)
Seat 3: El_Porqu3 (4006472 in chips)
Seat 4: eric_winner (2760592 in chips)
Seat 5: onami33 (5202158 in chips)
Seat 6: Akinet (8185972 in chips)
Seat 7: Takacu (2072220 in chips)
Seat 8: Tinchoolp768 (2402402 in chips)
Seat 9: playboy1175 (1702184 in chips)
Eric... you are not the winner
An unfortunate ending for eric_winner today after losing a big four million chip hand to Takacu, eric_winner left with 440,872 chips tried to recoup the lost funds by open shoving from the small blind. For only 280,872 chips more, onami33 made the call from the big blind holding 4♠8♦. eric_winner's pocket fives 5♠5♦ would turn into mush after running eights 7♣ T♥ J♠ 8♠ 8♥ gave onami33 the winning trips as eric_winner did not completely lose taking away $236.68 in ninth place.
Ladies first... or eighth in this case
El_Porqu3's shortstack with the blinds moving up to 80K/160K ante 20K meant finding some card love in a hurry. Tossing 522,272 tournament chips into the middle holding K♥7♥ was a good start as the hand folded around to kadabrakid in the big blind holding T♣J♠. For the discount kadabrakid made the call as El_Porqu3 quickly spiked a king but had to sweat the open-ended straight draw K♠6♠Q♦. 2♥ turn reduced the sweat, but the 9♣ river sent the Romanian home in eighth place ($369.81). Chalk up another big final table for El_Porqu3 who made the Women's Sunday final table just a few weeks ago finishing in seventh place.
Well clear of the title
After a few blind bumps Takacu and WellClear decided to liven up the table as the blinds moved up to 100K/200K ante 25K. Takacu would min-raise from UTG as WellClear holding just over a million chips shoved with a much needed premium hand of pocket kings K♣K♦. Takacu made the call with Q♣9♣ as both players hit the T♣K♥7♣ flop. But, WellClear's top set would crumble as the 3♥ turn and A♣ dagger of a river sent WellClear home in seventh place ($665.66).
Six minutes later with the blinds moving up to 125K/250K ante 31,250 Akinet would min-raise from the first position as Tinchoolp768 pumped it up to 1.71 million from the cutoff. Holding the popular pocket kings K♦K♠ Akinet made the call. Up against Tinchoolp768's 9♠A♦, this time the kings made it safely across the 6♥ 7♣ 2♣ 8♠ 9♦ board finishing in sixth place ($961.51).
No penthouse for playboy
As the blinds moved up to 150K/300K ante 37.5K playboy1175 would find an opening on the button to shove for 2.39 million getting a call from onami33. Watch below as playboy1175's tournament life hangs in the balance:
playboy1175's ace high A♠5♥ would face off against onami33's K♣8♠ but that ace quickly tanked as the flopped two pair turned into a boat 8♦ 4♣ K♥ 8♣ 7♦ for onami33, shoving playboy1175 out of the tournament in fifth place ($1,257.36).
The five minute break for the ninth hour of play gave our players all the time they needed to scrape together the four-way deal shown below:
Akinet (Australia) $3,126.78
onami33 (United Kingdom) $3,023.94
Takacu (Canada) $2,984.88
kadabrakid (Canada) $2,655.27
Leaving $400 plus a nifty MicroMillions champion's hat in the ring for our Event #80 winner.
Missed the net
After the four-way deal the blinds would move up to 200K/400K ante 50K as Akinet attempted to take some easy chips with a shove from the button holding pocket fives 5♠5♦. kadabrakid would try to cast the winning spell from the big blind by calling the 2.19 million chip shove with T♣A♦. The magic words worked as a ten hit the door T♦ 7♣ 7♥ 9♠ 2♣ and made Akinet disappear from the final table in fourth place ($3,126.78).
Someone was in a rush to claim this title and that player was onami33. With the blinds holding at 200K/400K ante 50K kadabrakid once again was trying to conjure a big win. After watching onami33 three-bet shove over the initial raise, kadabrakid would make a gut-check call holding pocket fours 4♠4♦. 21.2 million chips in the middle and a dominating chip lead for the winner. The drama would last until the river as the ace of diamonds 3♣ 7♠ 2♠ J♠ A♦ sent kadabrakid off in a mist of glitter after earning $2,655.27 in third place.
After winning five hands in a row onami33's sixth hand would prove to be the tournament clincher. Watch below as our champ closes out the tournament in style:
The tidal wave of onami33 would finally end as A♠6♦ would catch the 6♣ K♣ K♦ Q♠ 8♠ board just enough to take down Takacu's pocket treys 3♥3♣ and claim the MicroMillions 6 Event #80 title!
