MicroMillions 7: Two-time champ KidPokerSLO tops turbo field in Event #33 ($2.20+R NLHE 2x-Turbo)

For only the fifth time in its 633-event history, the MicroMillions has crowned a two-time champion. In last July's MicroMillions 5, Slovenia's KidPokerSLO defeated 5,858 players to win the 8-max turbo shootout. Tonight, KidPokerSLO topped a crowd more than three times as large, winning Event #33 ($2.20+R 2x-Turbo) and $18,273.12 after a heads-up deal.

Taking advantage of a rebuy period that lasted twice the typical length, Event #33's 19,758 players made 56,670 rebuys and 12,316 add-ons pushing the prize pool up to $177,488. 2,475 places were paid with first place set to earn $19,156.35 off as little as a $2.20 investment. Seven Red Spades joined the action including Marcin Horecki, Christophe De Meulder, Maxim Lykov, Andre Coimbra, and 2009 World Champion Joe Cada. Two finished in the money-- Team Online's Tyler "frosty012" Frost and Team Pro Martin Hruby (653rd).

Blinds were up to 1.05M/2M with ten players remaining. With the action folded to him in the small blind, MonsterFCZ shoved for 6.52 million and kdrAS called from the big blind with K♠9♠. MonsterFCZ's 5♥8♥ did not improve on the 7♦3♣2♦3♦J♠ board and he hit the rail, sending us to the final table.

Seat 9: camon13 (19,443,187 in chips)

One, two, three flips, you're out

Short stack Ballage87 moved to safer ground when he doubled through kdrAS, his Q♥J♠ flopping a pair of queens vs. A♣9♠. Ballage87 moved up to 32 million in chips and two hands later, he picked up A♥K♠ and three-bet to 34.8 million, enough to set any of his remaining opponents all-in. Camon13 called off his remaining 23.4 million and initial raiser KidPokerSLO open-folded 8♥8♠. Camon13's Q♣Q♦ kept the lead on the 4♥2♣2♥ flop, but Ballage87 turned the A♣ and rivered the K♦ to make a higher two pair. Camon13 was out in ninth place, good for $1,064.92.

A few orbits later, 1Don'tStop1 open-shoved for 17.4 million from UTG and chip leader KallHeinz77 reshoved for 46.4 million on the button. 1Don'tStop1's 2♣2♦ fell to A♠J♥ when the flop brought both an ace and a jack, ending his run in eighth place ($1,597.39).

Then, on the very next deal, Hustlaaaaaa opened pocket nines for 5.6 million and kdrAS shoved for 16 million from the small blind with A♠J♥. Hustlaaaaaa's 9♣9♦ held up on the 7♣4♣4♠T♠Q♥ board and kdrAS departed in seventh ($2,662.32).

KallHeinz77 knocks out two

With the blinds up to 1.6M/3.2M, Inspriation6 moved in for his last 11.8 million with Q♥T♥ and KallHeinz77 looked him up with A♦5♠ in the big blind. Inspiration6 missed the 9♥6♠3♠ flop completely, and although he picked up a heart on the turn for a flush draw, it was the A♥, pairing up KallHeinz77. The river blanked with the 7♠ and Inspiration6 was eliminated in sixth place, $4,437.20 his reward.

Short stack greekdavas got a reprieve when the action folded to chip leader Ballage87 in the small blind. He shoved for 93 million with 2♠7♣ and greekdavas woke up with A♣5♣ in the big blind. Ballage87 couldn't harness the power of the hammer, the board running out K♦J♦9♠6♥A♠ to double greekdavas to 41 million.

Then, on the next hand, KallHeinz77 opened for a min-raise to 7.2 million from UTG and greekdavas shoved from the small blind withT♣T♦. KallHeinz77 was well behind with A♣8♥, but flopped an ace and rivered an eight to end greekdavas's run in fifth place ($6,212.08).

Hustlaaaaaa nabs Ballage87 but can't fade KidPokerSLO

Ballage87 couldn't win a pot four-handed and finally made a small blind shove for 26.3 million with K♦4♣. Hustlaaaaaa looked him up with A♦2♠ in the big. Ballage87 didn't get any help on the K♠5♥5♣7♦A♠ board and took fourth place for $7,986.96.

Three hands later, KidPokerSLO opened for a min-raise to 8 million and KallHeinz77 three-bet shoved for 139.5 million from the big blind. KidPokerSLO called, his A♣K♦ dominating KallHeinz77's A♦6♣. Although KallHeinz77 gave him a sweat when he turned an open-ended straight draw, KidPokerSLO's hand held up on the J♣9♦7♥8♥A♠ board, good for a 150 million pot.

KallHeinz77 slipped to 73 million, but doubled back through KidPokerSLO a short time later when his A♦Q♦ held up against A♥9♦.

Five hands after that, KallHeinz77 open-shoved for 155 million and both KidPokerSLO and Hustlaaaaaa called.

KallHeinz77 K♠7♠
KidPokerSLO A♥T♥
Hustlaaaaaa 8♠8♦

KidPokerSLO hit trip aces on the A♦A♠K♥ flop, leaving both opponents drawing extremely slim. The turn and river blanked with the 2♦ and the 3♣ and Hustlaaaaaa was out in third, collecting $11,536.72 for the day's work. KidPokerSLO tripled to 176.2 million and KallHeinz77 was left with just short of 100 million going into heads-up play.

Heads-up chip counts

Seat 5: KallHeinz77 (99,812,977 in chips)
Seat 6: KidPokerSLO (176,203,023 in chips)

With the blinds a stratospheric 2.25M/4.5M, KallHeinz77 and KidPokerSLO immediately agreed to pause the action and discuss a deal. They quickly agreed to a chip count chop that guaranteed KidPokerSLO $16,773.12 and KallHeinz77 $15,969.71 while leaving $1,500 in play for the winner.

Action resumed and KallHeinz77 soon picked up A♠4♥ on the button. He opened for 9 million and KidPokerSLO called. KidPokerSLO check-called KallHeinz77's 8,883,000 continuation bet on the A♣K♥3♠ flop, and checked again when the T♠ came on the turn. KallHeinz77 fired 12,466,440 and KidPokerSLO called. The river T♣ was an action-killer and both players checked it down. KallHeinz77's aces up bested KidPokerSLO's kings up with K♣6♥ and he moved up to 125 million in chips.

This battle had the potential to rage far longer, but four hands later, a cooler ended it. KidPokerSLO made a (very) light three-bet with 3♠T♠ and hit trips on a flop that made KallHeinz77 top pair:

Congratulations to KidPokerSLO on his second MicroMillions title! Thanks to the deal, he took home $18,273.12 for the win, while runner-up KallHeinz77 banked $15,969.71.
