MicroMillions 7: luckisaladee finds fortune's favor in Event #42 ($5.50 NLHE)

Luckisaladee didn't start this final table as the chip leader, but wasted no time getting there, eliminating a short stack straight away to move into the top spot. Keeping true to her chosen moniker, luckisaladee furthered her lead when she flopped a set of fours vs. philhell24's aces and seized control altogether thanks to a double-elimination hand that left only five players standing. Luckisaladee rode that chip lead all the way to heads-up play where she brutalized mcluki83 and captured a MicroMillions title in Event #42 ($5.50 NLHE).

19,827 players were in the mood for this straight-up freezeout, their $5.50 buyins combining to create a $99,135.00 prize pool. 2,700 places were paid with $9,925.23 set aside for the champion. Team Pro Martin Hruby was the lone Red Spade in the field, but he made an early exit.

Blinds were up to 200,000/400,000 with ten players remaining. The action folded to luckisaladee, in the small blind, who completed to 400,000. Queenfish88 shoved for 2.96 million from the big and luckisaladee called, her K♦9♥ well ahead of Queenfish88's T♠3♠. Luckisaladee hit a king on the flop and a nine on the river to make two pair and eliminated Queenfish88 on the final table bubble.

luckisaladee outflops dajjvan10

The blinds rose to 250,000/500,000 and the action folded around to luckisaladee, who opened for 1.5 million on the button. Short stack dajjvan10 shoved for 3.55 million from the big blind and luckisaladee called, his A♠9♦ dominated by dajjvan10's A♣K♣. However, dajjvan10's hopes for a double-up were dashed when the flop fell J♥9♥9♠, making luckisaladee trips. The turn and river blanked with the 2♣ and T♥ and dajjvan10 departed in ninth place, collecting $594.81.

philhell24 snaps off joker7807

Later in the level, philhell opened for a min-raise to 1 million with 7♣9♣ and joker7807 smooth-called from the small blind. Philhell24 hit straight and flush draws on the 6♣5♠4♣ flop and joker7807 did his bidding for him, leading out for 2 million. Philhell24 raised to 11 million, joker7807 shoved and philhell24 called. Joker7807's A♠A♣ were on fragile ground and were snapped off when the 2♣ hit the turn, making philhell24's flush. Joker7807 exited in eighth place, earning $892.21 for his run.

philhell24 twice burned by aces

Philhell24 took the chip lead with 34.8 million and soon faced a 4 million shove from Kare150. Holding 9♠9♥, philhell24 reshoved on the button, folding out both blinds, but once again, philhell24 ran into A♣A♦. Unable to improve on the T♣7♣4♦A♠6♣ board, philhell24 fell to 29.6 million in chips while kare150 doubled to 9.4 million.

Six hands later, philhell24 picked up a pair of aces of his own. Luckisaladee open-limped for 600,000 from middle position and philhell24 juiced the pot to 2,000,000. Luckisaladee called and the flop fell 5♣5♦4♦. The rest of their chips went in, philhell24 three-bet shoving for 28.9 million and luckisaladee calling all-in for 9.8 million. Luckisaladee revealed 4♠4♥ for a set and scored a massive double-up to 35.6 million. Philhell24 was left with 13.7 million.

mcluki83 survives

Luckisaladee stuck with the open-limping strategy and came in for 600,000 from middle position. Geica11 raised to 1.5 million from the cutoff, mcluki83 called from the small blind and luckisaladee called as well. All three players checked the J♣9♥3♣ flop, but when the T♥ hit the turn, mcluki83 shoved for 3.6 million. Luckisaladee called and geica11 got out of the way. McLuki83's A♠T♠ won the kicker war vs. luckisaladee's K♣T♣ and he doubled to 12.5 million.

Mcluki83 gained even more ground when luckisaladee limped in UTG with A♣4♣ and he shoved with pocket queens. Luckisaladee called, but didn't find an ace to go with her pair of fours on the 9♦4♥3♦7♠9♠ board. Mcluki83 raked in the pot and doubled again, this time to 20.2 million.

luckisaladee KOs two in one hand

With the blinds up to 400,000/800,000 luckisaladee limped in and geica11 shoved for 9.55 million on the button. Montastack called all-in for 4.77 million from the big blind and the cards went on their backs.

luckisaladee J♣J♦
geica11 A♠4♦
montastack A♣Q♠

Luckisaladee's pocket jacks held up on the T♥8♣6♣2♦7♦ board, eliminating montastack in seventh place ($1,487.02) and geica11 in sixth ($2,478.37).

kare150 falls in fifth, luckisaladee levels Sir Alpiste

Down to five players, the two shortest stacks remaining tangled when kare150 open-shoved for 4.26 million from the small blind and Sir Alpiste called all-in from the big. Although kare150's J♦7♥ made a straight on the T♣9♠8♠ flop, Sir Alpiste's K♦J♣ turned a higher one when the Q♦ fell. The river A♠ improved Sir Alpiste to a Broadway straight and he doubled to 6.41 million, leaving kare150 on only 1.37 million.

Two hands later, kare150 moved in from the cutoff with K♥7♣ and philhell24 called the small balance with 4♥T♦ from the big blind. Philhell24 hit a four on the flop and kare150 couldn't catch up, the board running out A♣J♣4♦5♠8♦. For fifth place, kare150 took home $3,469.72.

Five hands after kare150's elimination, Sir Alpiste open-shoved for 3.14 million from UTG and luckisaladee successfully isolated with a three-bet to 5.08 million. Luckisaladee's A♦J♣ dominated Sir Alpiste's A♥T♦, the board running out 9♣7♣6♦4♦A♠ to eliminate him in fourth place ($4,461.07).

mcluki83 busts philhell24

With three players remaining, luckisaladee had a dominant chip lead with 67.3 million, mcluki83 was second with 19.7 million and philhell24 was the short stack with 12.1 million. When the action folded to him in the small blind, philhell24 shoved for 11.9 million with Q♥J♦, but mcluki83 woke up with A♦8♥ in the big blind. Mcluki83's ace-high held up and rivered a pair of eights, ending philhell24's run in third place ($5,948.10)

Heads-up chip counts

Seat 1: luckisaladee (67,153,062 in chips)
Seat 6: mcluki83 (31,981,938 in chips)

On the second hand of this heads-up battle, luckisaladee put even more distance between the chip counts, winning a 20.1 million pot with queens and tens when mcluki83 missed his flush draw:

Luckisaladee moved up to 75.8 million in chips and continued raking in small pots until a final race decided the match. Luckisaladee three-bet shoved pre flop with 8♣8♦ and mcluki83 called with A♠K♠. Although mcluki83 flopped a gutshot straight draw to go with his over cards, luckisaladee's pocket eights held up on the Q♦T♠2♣4♦T♦ board and he locked up the win.

Congratulations to luckisaladee, our newest MicroMillions champion! She banked $9,925.23 for the win while runner-up mcluki83 earned $7,916.92.
