MicroMillions 8: lastdayever seizes victory in Event #40 ($5.50 NLHE 6-Max, Turbo)

Outside of a few high-stakes cash game pros and perhaps a lawyer or two, I don't know anyone who regularly makes $2,051 an hour. It's a pretty absurd figure when it comes to the value of human time and were it an actual punch-the-clock rate, it would come out to over $4.2 million a year. Every day in the MicroMillions, a few small-stakes players get just a little taste of what that superhuman hourly rate feels like. Today, one of those lucky players was Germany's lastdayever, who seized the day and earned $11,282.98 in just under five and a half hours.

Event #40 ($5.50 NLHE 6-Max, Turbo) drew 16,583 players, the prize pool soaring past the $50k guarantee to top out at $82,915.00. 2,100 places were paid with the champion set to earn $11,362.67. Team Online's Felix "xflixx" Schneiders was the lone Red Spade in the field, but finished outside the money.

Blinds were 300,000/600,000 with seven players remaining. Pepinos10 was down to his last five big blinds and opened for 3,000,000 straight on the button. Inov4b3atS raised to 5.4 million from the big blind and Pepinos10 called off his remaining 5,283. Inov4b3atS's A♦T♠ had Pepinos10's A♠2♦ dominated and he made two pair on the T♦8♣7♥8♠K♠ board to end Pepinos10's run just short of the final table.

Seat 5: HOLDINTRIPZZ (17,122,103 in chips)
Seat 6: soybaba (8,497,945 in chips)

Deja vu

Tvcentin had the smallest stack to start the final table and with the action folded to him in the small blind, he moved all-in for 3.7 million with A♠2♦. In a direct echo of the final table bubble hand, lastdayever woke up with A♥T♠ in the big blind and the dominating hand held up on the J♣J♥5♥9♣T♣ board. For sixth place, tvcentin earned $994.98.

HOLDINTRIPZZ scores a huge double

Three hands later, HOLDINTRIPZZ opened for 1,655,999 from the cutoff and Inov4b3atS called from the small blind. Inov4b3atS check-raised HOLDINTRIPZZ's 1.85 million c-bet bet on the 9♥5♠4♥ flop and HOLDINTRIPZZ responded with a shove for 15.17 million. Inov4b3atS called, revealing 6♦6♥ while HOLDINTRIPZZ showed A♥2♥ for the nut flush draw. Inov4b3atS made two pair when the 9♠ turned, but the Q♥ river gave HOLDINTRIPZZ his flush and the 35 million pot.

Inov4b3atS fell to only 8.9 million after the hand, but doubled to a healthier 18.8 million through Maxilian195 when his Q♦6♥ flopped a six vs. A♣8♥.

lastdayever coolers soybaba

On the next deal, soybaba open-shoved for 8.19 million from the cutoff and once again, lastdayever picked up a huge hand in the big blind. Soybaba's T♣T♥ ran headlong into K♠K♣ and did not improve on the A♣A♦9♦4♠4♣ board. For fifth place, soybaba took home $1,658.30.

Inov4b3atS out fourth place

When four-handed play commenced, Maxilian195 was down to only 6.7 million in chips with the blinds up to 500,000/1,000,000. Luckily, he picked up A♣K♣ and three-bet shoved from the small blind, earning a call from HOLDINTRIPZZ with A♥T♥. Maxilian195's hand held up and he doubled to 14.7 million.

Even after doubling Maxilian195, HOLDINTRIPZZ still had the chip lead. However, he lost it to lastdayever, who four-bet shoved for 21.7 million with A♦K♣. HOLDINTRIPZZ called with pocket eights and lost the race, falling to only 9.6 million. Four hands later, HOLDINTRIPZZ found A♠J♦ on the button and open-shoved for 7.37 million. Inov4b3atS reshoved from the small blind with K♠8♣ and hit top pair on the K♣6♣4♣ flop, but HOLDINTRIPZZ turned the Q♥ and rivered the T♠ to double up to 16.5 million with a Broadway straight.

Two hands later, Inov4b3atS picked up pocket sevens and open-shoved for 12.1 million from UTG. Lastdayever called from the small blind with A♣4♦ and paired his ace on the A♠8♦6♣5♣Q♥ board to eliminate Inov4b3atS in fourth place ($2,902.02).

A three-way deal

Following Inov4b3atS's elimination the final three agreed to pause the action and discuss a potential deal. Here's how they stacked up at the time:

lastdayever 59,941,582
HOLDINTRIPZZ 14,293,328
Maxilian195 8,680,090

The final table host provided the players with the following chip count chop numbers that left the required $1,000 in play for the winner.

HostJorgeA (Administrator): lastdayever:$10,782.98
HostJorgeA (Administrator): HOLDINTRIPZZ:$6,675.58
HostJorgeA (Administrator): Maxilian195:$6,170.50
HostJorgeA (Administrator): Left To Play for place 1: $1,000.00

Naturally, chip leader lastdayever was quick to agree to the terms, but HOLDINTRIPZZ wasn't quite as excited. Lastdayever offered up $335 from his share and HOLDINTRIPZZ said he'd close the deal if he was guaranteed $7,500. Maxilian195 agreed to throw in $325 from his share and once the numbers were recalculated, three "I Agree" declarations sent the cards back in the air.

HOLDINTRIPZZ lets go

Maxilian195 caught a stroke of luck when he doubled through lastdayever. All-in preflop with Q♣T♣, Maxilian195 hit running cards to make a flush vs. lastdayever's K♥9♥ on the 6♦4♥4♣6♣2♣ board. That left HOLDINTRIPZZ as the short stack, and with A♠5♣ in the big blind, he called off his remaining 10.46 million when lastdayever made a small blind shove with Q♥T♠. However, lastdayever hit top pair on the Q♦8♠5♠6♣7♦ board and HOLDINTRIPZZ's run came to an end in third place. Thanks to his keen negotiating skills, HOLDINTRIPZZ walked away with the second-largest share of the prize pool at $7,500.00.

Heads-up chip counts

Seat 2: Maxilian195 (14,960,180 in chips)
Seat 4: lastdayever (67,954,820 in chips)

After ten flopless hands, lastdayever open-shoved for 72.3 million on the button and Maxilian195 called all-in from the big blind. Lastdayever held the pre flop lead with A♠6♣, but Maxilian195's 8♦9♣ picked up an open-ended straight draw on the 7♦6♥4♣ flop. Maxilian195 could double with a five or a ten, but missed the turn and river, the 3♦ and the 3♠ falling to secure lastdayever's MicroMillions win.

Congratulations to lastdayever on turning $5.50 into a whopping $11,282.98! For his runner-up finish, Maxilian195 banked $5,846.08.
