MicroMillions 8: ltcas89 keeps eye on the prize in Event #80 ($5.50 NLHE)
When you ask your heads-up opponent for a deal and they say to you that they want first place prize money or play, it's probably not a good sign of things to come. Such was the chip lead and the confidence of ltcas89 that the Brazilian was only interested in the top prize. In the end, ltcas89 backed up that confidence on the felt and delivered the MicroMillions to collect every cent of the $4,801.75 first-place prize.
Event #80 of the MicroMillions 8 series brought together a field of 6,135 players for a $5.50 No Limit Holdem Event. A prize pool of $30,675 was created with the top 810 players to share the spoils.
The dubious honour of the bubble fell on Poker Boys 3 from the Ukraine as the remaining players had locked up at least $8.58 as they started to think about reaching the final table and the top prize.
It would take a little over eight hours of play before the final table line up was established.
AnitaFoldmor was the chip leader and asserting some authority - three-bet shoving with 3♣2♦ in one spot that would get the table squirming. But that karma came back to bite AnitaFoldmor after doubling up Selezzneff twice on the final table bubble to become the one under pressure.
AnitaFoldmor would outlast chabelin123 who tried to steal from the small blind with Q♥T♣ but ltcas89 made the call in the big with A♠5♠. The board bricked out to see chabelin123 out in tenth place and the final table of nine set as follows:
Final Table Line Up
Seat 1: ltcas89 (4,819,975 in chips)
Seat 2: kidones (1,260,604 in chips)
Seat 3: Blefe13 (4,080,021 in chips)
Seat 4: Running Goot (7,139,794 in chips)
Seat 5: AnitaFoldmor (1,497,460 in chips)
Seat 6: Thenatch333 (333,449 in chips)
Seat 7: Selezzneff (3,731,464 in chips)
Seat 8: pausm_77 (2,643,751 in chips)
Seat 9: fuggs1 (5,168,482 in chips)
The final table blinds would start at 80k/160k/20k but after two hands, Thenatch333 was down to less than the cost of the small blind. Thenatch333 was forced all in with 4♠9♣ with AnitaFoldmor going to war with 4♥4♦ against Running Goot's Q♥J♠. A nine on the river was all it took for Thenatch333 to more than quadruple up while AnitaFoldmor collected a double in the side pot through the chip leader.
That lead would quickly disappear when Running Goot moved all in with king-jack on a king-high board against ltcas89 who called with a slightly better king-queen for a big double up. However Running Goot was able to regain a little momentum with the first elimination of the final table.
Action folded to kidones on the button who moved all in for nearly four big blinds. Running Goot was in the big blind and priced in to call with K♠5♥ for live cards against kidones' A♦T♥. The board was spread 5♦6♥Q♥4♠J♦ to see Running Goot catch a five for the knockout blow. Kidones received $245.40 for ninth place.
Thenatch333 had done well to make a pay jump and moved all in next hand from under the gun with T♦T♠. pausm_77 made the call with J♥K♠ and connected with the board of A♣J♣8♠Q♥8♥ with a pair of jacks. That was enough to remove Thenatch333 in eighth place for $383.43.
Selezzneff landed a double up with ace-ten finding an ace to get through AnitaFoldmor's pocket sevens to leave AnitaFoldmor on the short stack. Moments later AnitaFoldmor would move all in with K♥8♥ with the aggressive Running Goot getting into the action with a creative T♣6♣. The board fell J♠6♦9♣3♥7♥ to pair the six for Running Goot to see AnitaFoldmor bounced out in seventh place for $690.18.
The very next hand ltcas89 and Running Goot would collide in the biggest, and most defining, pot of the tournament. The action was all in preflop with ltcas89 committing with A♣K♦ as Running Goot showed up with a legitimate hand with Q♦Q♥. The flop was a dry 9♣T♦2♣ and the J♠ turn changed nothing, but the A♥ was the ace from space that ltcas89 needed to eliminate the dangerous Running Goot in sixth place for $996.93.
To say that the others were happy about that elimination would be an understatement as clearly Running Goot's loose play had got under their skin.

While that was going on, pausm_77 was busy moving all in from the button for just under ten big blinds with T♠K♦. pausm_77 was probably hoping to steal the blinds but when ltcas89 called and tabled 7♦7♣, the race was on. pausm_77 needed some help but only fell further behind when the board arrived 5♣A♦7♥9♠5♠ to see ltcas89 make a full house. pausm_77 was out in fifth place for $1,303.68.
Just a couple of hands later and four would become three when New Zealand's fuggs1 would fall. The hand started with a raise from ltcas89 and fuggs1 defended the big blind to take a 6♥2♥Q♠ flop. That was good enough for fuggs1 to overbet jam all in to try and take it down with an ambitious J♥2♣ for just bottom pair but ltcas89 made a solid call with 8♦8♣. The turn was the 4♠ and river the T♥ to hand the pot to ltcas89 and leave fuggs1 to exit in fourth place for $1,733.13 in prize money.
ltcas89 was out to a commanding chip lead with Blefe13 trying unsuccessfully to muster a deal, while Selezzneff's biggest concern was trying not to get disconnected from the server.
Blefe13 collected a double up with ace-nine against ltcas89's queen-ten, before Selezzneff did likewise with queen-jack hitting a queen against ltcas89's ace-seven.
In between, ltcas89 was chipping away with small pots to maintain the edge before finally getting the cards to fall the right way. When ltcas89 opened the button and Blefe13 three-bet jammed, ltcas89 made the call with A♥8♦, and it proved a great call when Blefe13 showed K♦8♥. The board fell 9♣Q♠6♦9♦8♣ to give ltcas89 the pot and eliminate Blefe13 in third place for a $2,526.08 score.

ltcas89 said, "1st place for me?"
Selezzneff said, "lol"
Selezzneff said, "are you kidding me?"
ltcas89 said, "no"
There was no room for negotiations from ltcas89 who held a solid three-to-one advantage and extended that early on in the heads-up battle with a river value bet holding two pair with queens and sevens.
A few moments later Selezzneff raised the button before ltcas89 three-bet all in. Selezzneff instantly called with A♠K♥ and looked to be in great shape to double up through ltcas89's A♣J♣, however the board would fall 8♦J♠Q♠4♦2♣ to pair ltcas89's jack for the win!
A great run by Selezzneff ends in second place for $3,573.63 as ltcas89 wins the MicroMillions title for Brazil along with $4,801.75 in prize money. Congratulations!
