MicroMillions 8: Mr.SDV84 victorious in Event #10 ($2.20+R NLHE, Action Hour)
Listen, I'll be straight with you. I had to look up what "Action Hour" meant. In another context, it could be a game show speed-round. The latest Hollywood workout craze. A $2 shot special at your local watering hole. But at PokerStars, it's yet another totally-bonkers-but-still-so-crazy-good tournament structure innovation. In this particular Action Hour, rebuys are not only unlimited, but wholly encouraged. Blinds start at 50/100 with a 15 ante, rendering your 3,000-chip starting stack short-ish from the go, and increase all the way to 150/300/40 by the end of the sixth level. That's when the music stops, everyone grabs a chair, and settles in for the long haul as the blinds revert to 15/30 and increase like usual. This built-in gear change encourages aggressive play during the rebuy period as players attempt to accumulate a large stack before the real work begins in the second hour.
Event #10 ($2.20+R NLHE, Action Hour) marked the MicroMillions 8's lone offering in this format and drew 10,732 players. They made 21,932 rebuys and 6,292 add-ons, boosting the total prize pool to $77,892.00. 1,350 players earned a share of it with the champion set to earn $11,130.04.
Nine and a half hours after cards went in the air, blinds were up to 300,000/600,000 and ten players remained. The shortest stack on his five-handed table, JNTJ 89 open-shoved for 3.99 million from the cutoff and TilloNaut reshoved from the small blind to isolate. Mr.SDV84 gave up his big blind and JNTJ 89 revealed K♦7♠, well behind TilloNaut's T♥T♦. TilloNaut flopped a set and turned tens full of deuces, ending JNTJ 89's run on the final table bubble.

Shorites double, xujiajia busts Zergpok
Unknown-nr.x was the second-shortest stack to start the final table and fritz dvds the second-largest, but that all changed when fritz dvds ran his A♦6♥ into Unknown-nr.x's pocket kings. Fritz dvds dropped to 16.8 million and shed another 4.5 million a few hands later when he tangoed with yet another pair of kings, this time Zergpok's.
Short stack patrickbocsa also scored an early double-up when he open-shoved for 6.43 million from UTG and xujiajia flat-called from the cutoff with J♦T♥. Patrickbocsa's A♦Q♥ flopped top two on the A♠Q♠5♥T♠2♦ board and he moved up to 14.9 million in chips.
Xujiajia, however, wasn't down for long. On the very next deal she limped in for 800,000, then called Zergpok's late position raise to 2.4 million. Xujiajia check-called 3.45 million on the 4♦2♥2♣ flop and checked again when the K♠ turned. Zergpok bet 6.9 million, xujiajia raised to 13.8 million and Zergpok called off his remaining 547,000. Zergpok revealed only ace-high with A♣Q♦, while xujiajia turned two pair with K♦Q♠. The K♣ river made xujiajia kings full and Zergpok hit the rail in ninth place, good for $545.24.
Shahmatisro4 exits eighth
With the blinds up to 400,000/800,000 TilloNaut found A♥Q♣ in middle position and open-shoved for 11.6 million. Shahmatisro4, clinging to life with only 1.54 million called all-in on the button and Unknown-nr.x open-folded 2♠4♠ in the big blind. Shahmatisro4's Q♦J♥ was dominated and TilloNaut quickly put a hammer lock on the hand when the flop fell A♦5♣2♣. The turn and river came the 4♣ and the 4♥ (Unknown-nr.x would have made fours full!) ad Shahmatisro4 exited in eighth place, collecting $856.81.
Unknown-nr.x hangs up
On the next hand, TilloNaut min-raised to 1.6 million and Unknown-nr.x moved in for his remaining 5.22 million with K♠Q♦. TilloNaut snap-called with A♠K♥ and kept the lead on the T♦8♣4♦J♣8♠ board. For seventh place, Unknown-nr.x earned $1,557.84.
Meanwhile, Mr.SDV84 had slipped to 9.9 million in chips with the blinds up to 500,000/1,000,000. WIth the action folded to him in the small blind, patrickbocsa open-shoved for 12.8 million and Mr.SDV84 called with A♥8♥. Patrickbosca's A♠2♥ was dominated and stayed that way on the J♦7♦6♦4♦4♠ board, giving Mr.SDV84 a double-up to 20.45 million.
Patrickbosca was left with only 3 million, but within the next four hands he rebounded to 11.2 million thanks to a shove getting through and a full double when K♠J♠ turned kings and jacks vs. kiti113's pocket eights.
xujiajia busts TilloNaut
Moments later, patrickbocsa opened for a min-raise to 2 million and TilloNaut shoved for 16.56 million on the button, only to have xujiajia reshove for 30 million from the big blind. Patrickbocsa got out of the way and the cards went on their backs, xujiajia's pocket jacks leading TilloNaut's A♠J♠. The jacks held up on the nine-high board and TilloNaut was eliminated in sixth place ($2,336.76).
Shortly after five-handed play commenced, kiti113 opened for a min-raise to 2 million and Mr.SDV84 shoved for 12.9 million from the big blind. Kiti113 called, his K♠J♣ trailing Mr.SDV84's A♦T♣. Mr.SDV84 flopped aces and tens, doubling his stack to 27 million while kiti113 fell to 19.8 million. Only an orbit later, Mr.SDV84 three-bet xujiajia's 4x open to 10.5 million and she responded with a 46.9 million shove. Mr.SDV84 called all-in, his tournament life at stack with J♦J♠ against A♦4♥. Xujiajia picked up a gutshot on the 6♥5♣2♦ flop but whiffed the turn and river, giving Mr.SDV84 a massive double-up to 55.4 million.
xujiajia eliminates fritz dvds, patrickbocsa KOs kiti113
Xujiajia got a few chips back when fritz dvds open-shoved 6.53 million with K♠T♥ and she called from the small blind with K♣Q♣. Xujiajia's kicker played on the 9♥5♥2♦K♦2♣ board and fritz dvds was out in fifth place, good for $3,115.68.
Next to shove was kiti113, who moved in for 7.88 million from UTG with A♦5♠. Patrickbocsa found A♥K♦ and reshoved for 8.03 million on the button, folding out both blinds. The A♣K♠5♥ flop was brutal for kiti113 to say the least, and he departed in fourth place with a $3,894.60 score.
Mr.SVD84 coolers xujiajia
On the very next deal, Mr.SVD84 opened for 2.4 million on the button and xujiajia three-bet shoved for 34.5 million from the small blind with A♦Q♣. It was a classic cooler as Mr.SDV84 called and turned up A♣K♦. Mr.SDV84 hit a king on the flop and an ace on the river, sending xujiajia home in third place ($5,799.05).
Heads-up chip counts
Seat 4: patrickbocsa (16,966,221 in chips)
Seat 5: Mr.SDV84 (112,435,779 in chips)
An unbalanced heads-up match to say the least, the battle between patrickbosca and Mr.SDV84 was brief and brutal. Ultimately, patrickbocsa moved in from the button for 15.3 million with 9♥T♥ and Mr.SDV84 called with A♥5♦. Mr.SDV84 hit two pair on the 5♥3♦3♥ flop while patrickbocsa picked up a flush draw. The J♣ turn was a blank for patrickbocsa, as was the 8♣ river and Mr.SDV84 locked up the win.
Congratulations to Russia's Mr.SDV84 on turning the price of a decent snack into a whopping $11,130.04! For his runner-up finish, patrickbocsa earned $8,178.66-- not bad for someone who started the final table as the short stack.
