MicroMillions 8: Vamoooo TOLENTINO07, Event #15 champion ($5.50 FL Hold'em 6-Max, Turbo)

If you've never watched a final table with at least one Brazilian player at it, you're really missing out. Whether it's on a football field or the green felt, Brazilians live for competition and are bursting with national pride when it comes to their countrymen. Although the online rail doesn't quite pierce the ears like a vuvezula-laden live one, Brazil scored a victory today as TOLENTINO07 overcame a 2-1 chip deficit heads-up to win his first MicroMillions title.

The first of two limit hold'em events in the MicroMillions 8, Event #15 drew 2,319 players and more than doubled the $5k guarantee with a total prize pool of $11,595.00. 300 places were paid with first place set to earn $1,827.75 off their $5.50 investment. Team Online's Tyler "frosty012" Frost was the lone Red Spade in the field and unfortunately finished outside the money.

The betting limits were up to 140,000/280,000 with seven players remaining. On the four-handed table, the action folded to Dutch_znix in the small blind and he raised to 280,000. Short stack cougar83_27 defended his big blind and they saw a K♣J♣T♣ flop. Dutch_Znix led out and cougar83_27 called. The turn brought the K♥ and Dutch_Znix fired again. Cougar83_27 called off his remaining 52,337 and turned up A♠T♦ for kings and tens, but Dutch_Znix had him buried with K♦2♠ for trips. The river was the 5♥, not the queen he was looking for, and cougar83_27 hit the rail one spot short of the final table.

Final table chip counts

Seat 1: Arlindows (728,723 in chips)
Seat 2: Dutch_Znix (1,953,715 in chips)
Seat 3: Konan (3,621,832 in chips)
Seat 4: TOLENTINO07 (3,305,115 in chips)
Seat 5: svet0vid (1,214,279 in chips)
Seat 6: bartbrood (771,336 in chips)

Arlindows falls to Dutch_Znix

A trip through the blinds left bartbrood with only 211,000 in chips when he picked up T♥T♦ and moved in. Arlindows called from the big blind with 5♥8♦. Although Arlindows picked up a pair of fives on the flop, bartbrood's pocket tens held up and he doubled to 422,672-- still less than 1.5 big bets.

Moments later, fellow micro-stack Arlindows opened for a raise to 320,000 from UTG and Dutch_Znix three-bet to 480,000. Arlindows called and they saw a J♦9♥4♥ flop. Arlindows led out, Dutch_Znix raised and Arlindows called all-in for his last 17,387 with K♠Q♥. Dutch_Znix revealed T♦T♥. The A♦ turn gave Arlindows two more outs with a gutshot straight draw, but the river blanked with the 3♦. Arlindows was eliminated in sixth place, good for $231.66.

bartbrood climbs to fifth

Bartbrood no doubt breathed a sigh of relief as he climbed one more rung on the pay ladder, but two hands later, he raised all-in preflop for his last 183,000 and Konan called from the big blind. Bartbrood's A♠7♦ was ahead of Konan's Q♣6♣ and he widened that lead with a pair of sevens on the 7♠3♠2♦ flop. However, Konan spiked the Q♠ on the turn to wrest it away. The 8♥ river wasn't the miracle bartbrood was looking for and he departed in fifth place ($434.81).

Konan crumbles in fourth

Svet0vid was down to only half a million in chips as play turned four-handed and was fortunate enough to pick up J♠J♣ on the button. Svet0vid raised to 400,000, Konan three-bet to 600,000 and svet0vid called all-in for his last 104,279. Konan turned up Q♦4♦ and did not improve on the K♥6♥2♣6♣3♥ board, while svet0vid doubled to 1.1 million.

Konan soon slipped to 505,000 and he committed the last of his chips preflop with Q♥J♦, but could not improve vs. TOLENTINO07's A♣4♦. For fourth place, Konan picked up $666.71.

Chop it three ways

Moments later, the final three agreed to pause the action and discuss a potential deal. Here's a look at how they stacked up at the time:

Dutch_Znix 5,666,102
TOLENTINO07 4,295,340
svet0vid 1,633,558
Betting limits 300,000/600,000

Per Dutch_Znix's request, the final table host produced ICM numbers and all three players quickly agreed to the terms, which awarded svet0vid a little more than third-place money and guaranteed both Dutch_Znix and TOLENTINO07 slightly better than second-place winnings. With $100 and a MicroMillions title still up for grabs for the winner, action resumed.

svet0vid takes third

Short stack svet0vid doubled to 3.26 million when his J♦6♦ caught a six on the flop vs. Dutch_Znix's K♦J♣, but four hands later, his tournament life was at risk again. With the betting limits up to 400,000/800,000, Dutch_Znix made a button raise and svet0vid three-bet to 1.2 million from the big blind with K♠T♥. Dutch_Znix called and they saw a 8♣5♥3♥ flop. Svet0vid c-bet, Dutch_Znix raised and the betting was ultimately capped. The turn brought the Q♣ and svet0vid bet his last 17,116. Dutch_Znix called, revealing 8♥9♣ for top pair on the flop. Svet0vid needed a river king to survive but got the 6♦ instead and hit the rail in third place ($1,165.80).

Heads-up chip counts

Seat 2: Dutch_Znix (8,099,660 in chips)
Seat 4: TOLENTINO07 (3,495,340 in chips)

TOLENTINO07 stomped on the gas and took a slight lead over Dutch_Znix thanks to a fortunate turn card. Following a pre flop min-raise from TOLENTINO07, Dutch_Znix check-called 400,000 on the T♦4♠3♦ flop and check-called another 800,000 when the 6♥ turned. Both players checked the J♥ river and TOLENTINO07 turned over 6♣7♣ for third pair. Dutch_Znix only had ace-high with A♣2♥ and TOLENTINO07 moved up to 6.1 million.

A few hands later, TOLENTINO07 picked up another pot with only a small piece of the board. Holding Q♦3♦, TOLENTINO07 check-called 400,000 with bottom pair on the K♦6♦3♥ flop and checked again when the 9♣ turned. Dutch_Znix checked behind, and the 2♠ hit the river. TOLENTINO07 bet 800,000 and Dutch_Znix paid off the bet only to muck at the sight of TOLENTINO07's pair of threes.

That pot took TOLENTINO07 up to 8.1 million and he ground his way up to 9.2 million before Dutch_Znix struck back. After three-betting pre flop from the big blind, Dutch_Znix led out on the 6♠5♣2♥ flop and bet the last of her chips on the 8♥ turn. TOLENTINO07 called, his Q♠T♠ trailing Dutch_Znix's K♣7♠. The river was the 8♦ and Dutch_Znix's king-high held up, doubling his stack to 4.7 million.

TOLENTINO07 went back to work and whittled Dutch_Znix back down to 2.45 million before the final hand unfolded. Dealt J♠J♦, TOLENTINO07 raised pre flop and Dutch_Znix called from the big blind. TOLENTINO07 hit top set on the J♥5♦4♣ flop but Dutch_Znix did his bidding for him, firing out a 500,000 bet. TOLENTINO07 smooth-called. Dutch_Znix bet his last 949,000 when the 9♣ turned and TOLENTINO07 snap-called. Dutch_Znix was already drawing dead with only Q♥6♥, and the river T♣ officially locked up TOLENTINO07's MicroMillions title.

Congratulations to Brazil's TOLENTINO07, on his first MicroMillions win. He banked $1,504.79 while runner-up Dutch_Znix earned $1,476.15.
