Mistercash19 Turns $11 into $6,548.03 in MicroMillions 8 Event #44

When is a $25,000 guaranteed tournament not a $25,000 guaranteed tournament? When it's the MicroMillions and 4,169 players exchange $10+$1 for 5,000 tournament chips, resulting in a $41,690 prize pool, that's when.

The speed of play was frantic from the word go, and the 4,169 entrants reduced to a much more manageable final table of nine after only seven-and-a-half hours of action. That final table only took an hour from start-to-finish with Canada's Mistercash19 emerging victorious and with the lion's share of the spoils.

Seat 7: sucksxfull (Israel) -- 4,075,031
Seat 8: Jetize (Russia) -- 2,436,903
Seat 9: adlerflug (Germany) -- 5,571,396

Within the first orbit of play, the tournament lost two players. The first of that duo was tiptt26, who min-raised to 160,000 from early position. The next five players passed, but adlerflug put in a raise of his own from the small blind and made it 400,000 to play. Tiptt26 called and it was heads up to the 5♠J♥J♠ flop.

tiptt26 terminated

Adlerflug fired a continuation-bet of 800,000, a bet that covered tiptt26's remaining chips. Tiptt26 called off his stack and the hole cards of the players were revealed.

adlerflug: A♦A♠
tiptt26: T♦T♠

Both players had legitimate hands, although adlerflug's was vastly superior. The 6♥ on the turn was followed onto the virtual felt by the 8♥, meaning adlerflug's aces remained true and tiptt26 became the first casualty of the final table.

menmebaby makes his way to the sidelines

Less than three minutes later, menmebaby looked down at A♠4♣ under the gun and raised all-in for 778,256 chips, or a shade under 10 big blinds. sucksxfull was next to act and he put in a raise to 2,534,768 with his T♣T♥ and forced the other active players out of the pot.

By the river, the board read 5♦4♦3♦Q♦9♣ and that spelled the end for menmebaby's tournament.

flacoalan falls

Two minutes later and sucksxfull sent another player to the sidelines when flacoalan raised all-in from middle position for his 12 big blind stack, at the 50,000/100,000/12,500a level, with what turned out to be A♥Q♥ and sucksxfull re-raised all-in for 3.88 million with the dominating A♠K♥. A board reading J♥5♦5♥9♠2♣ was of no help to flacoalan and he exited in seventh place.

Each of the six remaining player was now guaranteed at least $1,354.92 for their efforts, an amount that increased to $1,771.82 when Jetize was stacked by Netinho_RJ.

Jetize jettisoned

Again, the chips went into the middle prelop, Netinho_RJ opening to 220,000 and calling when Jetize three-bet all-in for 1,250,995 in total. It was the A♠T♠ of Jetize versus the A♥Q♥ of Netinho_RJ and although Jetize paired his kicker on the flop, Netinho_RJ did too and then improved to a flush by the river of the Q♦T♥8♦4♥2♥ to leave the tournament with only fifve players in contention for the title of champion.

After that early flurry of elimination, another 30-minutes passed before anyone else was felted and had their hopes dashed.

sucksxfull stacked

With the cost of playing now 80,000/160,000/20,000a, Netinho_RJ raised to 352,000 from the small blind and sucksxfull called from the big blind. Netinho_RJ led for 402,000 on the A♣7♥9♦ flop, sucksxfull raised all-in and Netinho_RJ called to put his opponent at risk of elimination.

Netinho_RJ: A♦J♣
sucksxfull: A♥4♦

Netinho_RJ had his opponent crushed, but still needed to avoid a four on the turn or river for that fact to remain true. When the 5♥ and 8♠ completed the community cards, sucksxfull's tournament was over and the surviving players climbed further up the pay ladder.

As was the case at the start of the final table, the rate of eliminations was immense, with players busting every couple of minutes.

leninsoyoung loses out

Next to be sent to the showers was leninsoyoung who was sat in the big blind with Q♦T♥ and facing a bet from Mistercash19 that would cost him his remaining eight big blinds to call. Leninsoyoung did call and was shown 8♣8♠ in his opponent's hand, meaning the duo were in one of tournament poker's many "race" situations.

The J♥5♥K♠ flop gave leninsoyoung outs to an open-ended straight draw and backdoor flush draw in addition to his two overcards, but he still managed to miss them all because the 4♦ turn was followed into play by the K♥ river and with that leninsoyoung was gone.

adlerflug annihilated

Three-handed play was over almost as quickly as it had begun. A raise of three-times the big blind to 480,000 from adlerflug in the small blind was called by Mistercash19 in the big blind. The flop fell 9♦5♣9♣, adlerflug bet 800,000 and Mistercash19 raised all-in for slightly less than 3.8 million. Adlerflug went deep into the tank, utilising a large percentage of his timebank, before clicking the call button and helping create an 8.27 million pot.

Mistercash19 held the advantage because his K♥5♥ had improved on the flop, leaving the A♥K♠ of his opponent needing to catch an ace on one of the later streets. That ace never appeared as the Q♠ turn and J♣ river completed the board and confirmed adlerflug's demise.

As the heads-up battle between Mistercash19 and Netinho_RJJ kicked off, the former typed into the chatbox, "wanna chop and play for some money and the title?" but there was no reply, nor was there any need to chop the remaining prize pool because eight hands was all it took for a winner to be decided.

The eighth and final hand of heads-up saw Netinho_RJ min-raise to 400,000 and Mistercash19 called. Mistercash19 then check-called a 425,000 bet on the 8♦7♠4♥ flop before checking again on the Q♠ turn.

Netinho_RJ continued his aggression with a 1.133 million bet only to see Mistercash19 check-raise all in for 15 mllion. Netinho_RJ called off the rest of his 3 million stack, turned over T♠T♦ and discovered those tens were against Q♦J♠ that had improved to a pair of queens. The 3♦ fell onto the river and with its arrival, Mistercash19 won Event #44 of the MicroMillions 8 series.
