MicroMillions III: DallasCorben scores one in Event #77 ($2.20+R NL Omaha, 3x-Turbo)
DallasCorben is no stranger to finishing deep in tournaments having fallen just short of winning WCOOP Event #32 earlier this year but today marked the first win in one of PokerStars series. Using that experience that was gained in a second place effort earlier this year along with the winning of quite a few regularly scheduled omaha tourneys DallasCorben marched through the final table in Event #77 to win $11,755.07 and be known as a MicroMillions champion from here out.
In just over four hours the field dwindled down from the 6,084 that registered all the way to the final table of six. Before they could get down to the final table Team PokerStars Pro Marcin "Goral" Horecki was eliminated in 139th place collecting $61.64.
Once they got down to the final two tables 13pillow4you started to climb to the top getting to just under a two to one chip lead over DallasCorben who was in second. The final table bubble was a battle of the shorter stacks as jeanious took on GiVaTh. By the time the T♦9♥2♣ 8♦ 9♣ board ran out jeanious' queen-high straight with A♣K♣Q♦J♠ was good enough to eliminate GiVaTh in seventh place. Here's how the final table got started:
Seat 1: bbbiccchhhai (20,331,079 in chips)
Seat 2: jeanious (20,588,631 in chips)
Seat 3: CACHO.PY (23,784,162 in chips)
Seat 4: DallasCorben (36,594,889 in chips)
Seat 5: moustique77 (22,125,661 in chips)
Seat 6: 13pillow4you (60,766,578 in chips)
The first elimination came a few hands in when the the shortest stack on the table, mostique77, moved all-in from the cutoff and was called by 13pillow4you. When the cards were revealed it was 13pillow4you that held the lead with A♥K♦K♣8♣ against moustique77's Q♦7♠4♠3♦. The K♥T♥8♦ 9♠ 2♥ board gave moustique77 no assistance. For a sixth place effort moustique77 collects $1,155.84.
The next elimination did not come quite as fast as CACHO.PY doubled through DallasCorben and most pots were won without a showdown. Eventually though 13pillow4you and bbbiccchhhai mixed things up in a battle of the blinds when 13pillow4you shoved all-in from the small blind and bbbiccchhhai called. The players showed their cards and bbbiccchhhai's A♠K♠T♦5♠ was ahead of 13pillow4you's A♥9♠7♠2♦. The A♦Q♣2♠ 8♠ 8♣ board gave both players two pair, aces and eights but it was bbbiccchhhai's king kicker that won the hand eliminating 13pillow4you in fifth place collecting $2,184.53.
A couple hands later bbbiccchhhai was at it again calling jeanious' all-in shove and once again bbbiccchhhai was ahead this time holding A♥A♠Q♥T♥ against jeanious' 8♣6♥5♣5♠. The J♦8♦2♥ 2♣ J♣ board brought a little help to jeanious but it wasn't enough to survive elimination. With a fourth place finish jeanious collected $3,660.16.
The three-handed battle was just that a battle as the bbbiccchhhai held the chip lead. CACHO.PY was the first player to take a shot at the chip leader getting a double up holding A♦Q♣J♥T♠ and catching a queen-high straight on the J♣9♠3♥ 8♠ 7♣ board to beat bbbiccchhhai's A♥K♠5♦4♦. From there most hands were won without a showdown before the two short stacks, DallasCorben and CACHO.PY mixed things up and got all their chips into the middle pre flop. DallasCorben was ahead with A♠A♦4♣2♦ against CACHO.PY's K♠7♠7♥3♥. The A♥4♠2♣ flop essentially closed the door on CACHO.PY who was needing to to catch either running hearts or running straight cards to stay alive. The A♣ turn was not one of those cards and closed the door for good giving DallasCorben quad aces. CACHO.PY collects $5.971.84 for third place.
When heads up play began bbbiccchhhai held a 25-million chip lead over DallasCorben and the players dug in to determine who was going to be the champion of Event #77. In just a few hands DallasCorben managed to get a double through bbbiccchhhai. With blinds at 1,200,000/2,400,000 with a 240,000 ante DallasCorben raised to 7.2-million from the small blind, bbbiccchhhai called and the A♠5♥2♠ flop was delivered. bbbiccchhhai checked and DallasCorben bet 12-million, bbbiccchhhai called. The A♥ turn brought a check from each player. When the 4♠ came on the river bbbiccchhhai bet 19.2-million, DallasCorben then raised all-in for over 66-million and bbbiccchhhai called. DallasCorben showed A♣K♦9♦5♣ for trip aces with a king kicker to beat bbbiccchhhai's trip aces with a six kicker holding A♦6♠6♦2♥.
The next hand bbbiccchhhai doubled up with A♣K♠4♠2♥ against DallasCorben's Q♦6♥4♣3♠ on a 9♥6♦5♥ 5♠ 5♦ board. bbbiccchhhai managed to double up two more times before DallasCoben was finally able to finish things. The hand began with DallasCorben raising to 9.6-million and bbbiccchhhai calling, leaving just under 8-million behind. The A♥Q♦6♥ flop got bbbiccchhhai to put the rest of those chips into the middle and DallasCorben called. DallasCorben's A♦K♠5♣2♥ was ahead of bbbiccchhhai's A♠3♠3♥2♦. The J♠ turn and J♦ river improved both players hands leaving it to their kickers to determine who wins the hand. DallasCorben's king bested the three used by bbbiccchhhai brining an end to the tournament. bbbiccchhhai takes home $8,283.52 for second place while DallasCorben gets $11,775.07 for the win.
