MicroMillions III: §haq_88 in full attack mode and wins Event #61 $1R (3x-Turbo)

Some days you wake up on the right side of the bed and everything goes right for you. Today seemed like one of those magical days for PokerStars Team Online Grzegorz "DaWarsaw" Mikielewicz, who posted a deep run in Event #61. The pro from Poland advanced to the final table despite being short-stacked for most of the tournament. As the field dwindled down to under 99 players, DaWarsaw was faced with several catastrophic all-ins and he somehow managed to emerge unscathed. He avoided elimination too many times to count and stayed alive long enough to make the final table. Alas, as soon as DaWarsaw got there, he ran out of gas and was knocked out in ninth place.

Portugal's §haq_88 began the final table in the middle of the pack, but strategically waited until four players remained before he went in full-out attack mode and knocked out the last three players en route to a MicroMillions III victory.

The Triple Turbo Re-buy format is one of the most exhilarating events on the MicroMillions III schedule. Event #61 $1R (3x-Turbo) attracted 14,495 runners, who added 80,381 re-buys and 8,125 add-ons, which boosted the prize pool to $94,140.41. The top 2,025 places paid out.

PokerStars Team Online Grzegorz "DaWarsaw" Mikielewicz was the only Team Pro to cash in this event as he went all the way to the final table. Team PokerStars Pro Poland Marcin "Goral" Horecki busted out in 5,450th place and didn't get a chance at his 18th cash in MicroMillions III. Greece Team PokerStars Pro Stavros "IDOLLS" Kalfas hit the road in 2,795th place and missed the money.

PokerStars Team Online DaWarsaw was all heat in Event #61

With approximately 70 players left, DaWarsaw was next to last in chips and made a stand and got it all-in with K♦J♥ versus fotografosp's A♣5♦. Although fotografosp flopped a pair of fives, DaWarsaw caught running cards for a Broadway straight. DaWarsaw doubled up to evade a knock out.

After surviving that close call, DaWarsaw went on a heater. He busted I'veGotJoker with 9♦9♠ against Q♥9♥ and won a 10 million pot. Four hands later, he knocked out RoussJ with A♠Q♠ against Q♣Q♥. The A♦ spiked on the turn, which sealed the deal for DaWarsaw. He dragged a 14 million pot and rocketed into the Top 5 overall with 24 million.

With 23 remaining, DaWarsaw slipped to 18 million or 12th overall. But, DaWarsaw got in trouble and slipped to the back of the pack when he doubled up menk11's K♣Q♣ with Q♥2♥. A couple hands later, DaWarsaw made a stand with A♦Q♦ against vvk89's K♣K♠. DaWarsaw flopped a Queen and rivered a Queen to win the pot with trips. Yet another amazing come-from-behind win to stave off elimination. DaWarsaw chipped back up to 22 million and lived to fight another day.

DaWarsaw's stack thinned once again and made a stand with A♦Q♦ against vvk89's K♣K♠. DaWarsaw flopped a Queen and rivered a Queen to win the pot with trip Queens. Wow! Another amazing come-from-behind win to thwart another potential elimination. DaWarsaw chipped back up to 22 million and lived to fight another day.

With 15 to go, DaWarsaw woke up with K♣K♦ and doubled up against menk11's Q♦J♥. They got it all-in on a flop that gave menk11 an open-ended straight draw. DaWarsaw faded the straight and won the pot, which was worth almost 40 million. That hand pushed DaWarsaw back into the Top 5. With 13 remaining, DaWarsaw took a hit and lost a 22.4 million pot when he ran into iliansi68's flopped straight flush with Q♣9♣. DaWarsaw was lucky he didn't lose more chips on that hand. He slipped to 25 million.

DaWarsaw's stack incurred another hit when kleath doubled up T♥T♠ against his A♦6♠. DaWarsaw flopped an Ace but the T♣ on the river gave kleath a full boat.

Action went hand-for-hand with ten remaining and DaWarsaw held onto dear life with the slimmest stack. DaWarsaw managed to stay out of a gunfight when fotografosp bombed it all-in preflop with J♣J♥ against iliansi68's T♠T♥. A ten on the flop gave iliansi68 a set and he won the pot. Alas, Brazil's fotografosp bubbled off the final table in tenth place.

Team Online DaWarsaw eliminated in 9th place

It took a couple of levels before someone finally busted at the final table, but that person was DaWarsaw. The amazing run for the Team Online member had come to an end. Short-stacked DaWarsaw bombed it all-in preflop with 8♣8♠ and iliansi68 called with K♠6♠. The flop was 9♠6♦2♠ and DaWarsaw retained the lead, but iliansi68 picked up a flush draw and a pair of sixes.
